Slosher continues to be my favorite weapon in this game. I love the tentamissles too.
Any good tips? I've mostly had success with dualies but I'm wanting to branch out and use rollers/slosher too. Slosher seems like an actually decent mid-range weapon but I haven't had any luck with it so far (I also get destroyed on Turf War if I try to use brushes).

level up and go back and rescan. I don't know how much you have to level up by but I just remembered every few levels or so and each time I got something new when I went back.

Nice! Thank you!

Another question that I'm not sure if it's a network thing or my JoyCons - has anyone else started a game and you just can't move? My JoyCons were connected to the system (playing in handheld mode) and I couldn't tilt the camera, couldn't move, couldn't bring up any menus, I was just left standing there while my team went off to do good. I disconnected my JoyCons and tried pressing all the buttons in a panic and finally they started working again but I couldn't tell if I was frozen because of a network issue or if my JoyCons were being little bitches (which is weird because as I said they were connected to the damn system). Anyone know or experience that? They're the Neon Yellow JoyCons too so I was kinda thinking the issues woulda been worked out by now...

I remember other folks saying that you can scan Splatoon 1 amiibos for gear they used to give in Splatoon 1, but what they give you will be random. You can rescan them after you win a few matches (not sure how many) and you won't be given something you already got.

Thanks! Yes while looking for the answer on Google I found that every single Splatoon amiibo (aside from recolors) gives a unique outfit. Even Marie and Callie! Though they don't unlock until you've beaten Story Mode.

Earlier today, the game started with only three people on my team versus four on the other. Good shit. That's the second time this happened since launch.

That happened to a team I was facing last night, like right before the match started it ended up with 7 people on the screen so I was wondering who was going to get just 3 people

Then the intro happened and we had 4, they had 3

Anyone know if you get to use Slosher in single player?

Saw a pretty cool Persona 5 tag this morning

One small touch I like is that the last 7 people you played with appear outside the lobby enterance and you can inspect their gear if you had any questions about it, it really makes it feel social.

Should I feel bad for never coming in first in Turf Wars with the Splatling? I feel like my job is suppression and maintaining high ground, which makes it hard to really rack up the points.

My Amiibos were delivered today! So can finally check out some of that sweet looking gear for myself. Just have to be level 10 to unlock all the pieces correct?

Also does anyone know how the Callie/Marie ones work? Do you have to finish single player for those ones? Tried to scan them the first time I played and think it said something along the lines of them being currently occupied in Octo Canyon at the moment and to try back later.

I'm really enjoying playing this so far. Much more than the original even though they're largely similar. Maybe it's just that so many more options are open from the start. I remember the early days of Splatoon 1 when only Splat Zones and Turf Wars were available and the buckets, brushes and gatlings didn't exist. I think I burned out early and by the time the game opened up with new modes, levels and weapons I had lost interest.

I'm loving the Slosher this time around and I've adapted to motion controls quite well, unlike the first game. Salmon Run is fantastic as are Rainmaker and Tower Control modes. I was hesitant about buying Splatoon 2, especially at $80 Canadian, but I'm so glad I did.

I was finally able to get in and play this last night. I almost forgot how dang fun Splatoon is to play. I planned on just dropping in and playing for 20-30 minutes, and then 4 hours went by in a blink.

I still can't do motion controls though. With the pro controller, I'm solid. Trying to use motion, I get soaked.

I wouldn't say so.
The turf inked numbers are not always an accurate representation on how much impact a player had on the match in turf wars. For example, it's possible to paint large amounts of territory without actually guarding it, so the enemy team can come in right after you and paint it back up. In order to be successful in turf wars you need to hold your territory once it has been painted, and that is a role that heavy splatling and other long range weapons excel at.

Note that in Splatoon 1 Aerosprays dominated the meta early on because people saw that they could rack up huge turf numbers, however, they fell out of use at high levels of play over time, as people realized that Aerosprays were not effective at guarding against, or challenging stronger weapons for turf.

It depends.

I describe myself as a 'nuisance' player. I dont strictly go for the objective, I harass opposition to draw them away from doing so. If I get in a firefight that drags two opponents in, I will die, but job done, thats 2 less people that could attempt the objective or stop opponents from doing so.

Likewise I will often come in from behind the group and attack them while they focus on the objective and kill as many as fast as possible.

Im kind of an auxillary, Im there and Im not strictly going after the objective, but I am trying to make it as easy as possible for the team to do so.

Works a lot better in ranked modes though. Turf wars is more like, get the Aero MG and go nuts

You can also order it if you have reached the required level. (granted you aren't guaranteed to get all the sub abilities) In Splatoon 1 we traded gear on GAF. We had a gear spreadsheet set up, and if someone had something you wanted you could request that they wear it in a private battle against you so you could order it.

Love this game - but when you have two people on your team idling and it messes up your run I get sad.

I'd really like to fill my last 50 games with a 50:0, but I only get to about 10 or so before I lose.

I believe it's around 10 or so for the armor yeah. I'm not sure how the songs work, but I keep unlocking songs too.

Marie and Callie only work after you complete the campaign yes.

It's not tied to level, it's based on number of matches played/won.

I got my purple Squid amiibo after I hit level 11 and still have to slowly unlock everything.

I finally reached B rank in both Tower and Splatzones, feels good man :) Sitting at B- in Rainmaker because it's my least favourite mode lol

On the Splatoon 2 part of the app click on the two arrows(squids?) that cross to make and X on the row of icons on the bottom. Second from the right.

I'm there - and which number is it? I see average Kills per game, average specials and a number in brackets.

Is this like teaching your grandfather to use the internet for the first time?

I'm pretty sure it's the number in parenthesis next to your average kills per game. I don't know why it isn't specified though.

Edit: I was wrong that number is assists. There is no way to see your overall K/D ratio, only for the individual games on the app.

50 hours of Splatoon 2. Already played more than Arms (45) and MK8D (50) and I'm sitting here wondering why I bought them when Spatoon 2 exists.

Whats the point of buying any other game. Splatoon 2 will consume them all.

Eh, I'll get back to them both eventually I guess but I do wonder if I would've bought them if Splatoon 2 had launched first instead lol.

Also RIP in piece Pokken Tounament Dx.

Losing pace with Splatoon 2 a little bit, now averaging 8 hours a day so I don't think I'll reach 100 hours in July though. Would be wild if it did tho. Splatoon 2 will be the game I reach 100 hours with the quickest since it should beat my current quickest, BOTW at 18 days. Since BOTW starting falling quickly once I 100%ed the shrines. Tho I am now at 170 regardless.

I actually kinda want a Splatoon 1 port now. Only played 346 total hours of it, my second most played game and most played tv game. I can't stand playing tv games anymore so its a true testament with how much I did play and I feel like I could get so much more out've it if it was portable. Sucks it'll likely stay on WiiU. Need Paranha Pit, Acho-V Games, Mahi, and Camp.

Splatoon 2 has consumed all. Fuck I must get back to playing. Like right now. Wtf am I doing, not playing this game. For shame me.

Pretty much how I was after Splatoon 1 launched. I didn't buy any new games after that except Overwatch, and I only put like 50 hours into that before going back to Splatoon (which I have like 2000 hours on now, yikes)

Man, I really need to start using motion controls. Losing too many one on ones due to poor aim.

The thing is, I realize they are better, I just don't want to move my controller around the entire game haha

Wait, what? I just lost a Rainmaker match when we had definitely been much closer to their base than they'd ever been.

I thought it was based on closest distance, but is it time held then?

Question on amiibos - my friend has all the Splatoon 1 amiibos and has offered to let me borrow for unlocks. He also doesn't have a Switch yet but will be getting on in the future.
Considering you have to register the amiibo before you can get any unlocks - will he still be able to use them for unlocks after I borrow and use them? AKA is there a way to wipe the registration?

It's distance but it can be a bit wonky because:
1. sometimes a certain paths get to you lower numbers faster than others
2. there is first mover's advantage, if for example the other team gets to 20, and then you get to 20 you will drop back to 21 if you die and they will get the win. There are no ties in Splatoon.
