Ugh. Just lost a Salmon Run on Overachiever because none of them knew to shoot the sewerage pipe things to find the Goldie. They're all just standing there and shooting the enemies I release. Sigh.

I kept my game on sleep mode and grinded 99 EXP and Cash meal tickets.

Too bad im gonna miss out on salmon run.

I'm going to do this too. I haven't updated and I never turn off my game so I'll just grind before I do the update

Finally was able to win at Salmon Run. Once we hit our quota in Wave 3 my goal was simply stay alive. In the last 10 seconds my teammates all died and I was just [heavy breathing] over in a corner and avoiding being lasered by that pots and pans guy.

Rank in salmon run is taking a DIVE. A lot of players don't know what they're doing today. Nobody is shooting those boxes before they land, and people are definitely ignoring harder to kill bosses and assuming their teammates will take care of it

Connection troubles today. =/

Was trying to get some Salmon Run in before it closes but even without the connection issues I've been getting my ass kicked by high tide triple boss horns on Spawning Ground.

Smacked right out of Profreshional rank now. 60 point loss. =|

Try Ethernet if you can. I get the unstable thing on Wifi usually. I think the Switch's wifi nic isn't that strong.

I'll give it a shot when I get the chance (can't atm). Ironically when I play in handheld mode, I almost never disconnect. But when I play docked, it's another story. And I sit in the same room when playing in both modes (most of the time). Strange.

Did they patch in some sort of Nightmare mode on SR? Hitting all goals and making all waces was easy, todays was a damn nightmare. I was running out od ink there were so many enemies and the ground was covered in enemy ink, we were getting slaughtered.

Also it feels like the few Wii U owners out there dedinitely have the upper hand playing this game, Im smashing through the ranked games with the highest contributions every round and catching people off guard. It wont laat, but for the moment definitely feels like there are more players out there new to the little tricks and ways if gaining an advantage than some of the players that are jumping back in like a squid in ink.

Finally starting to work my way up in Turf Wars so I can get to big boy ranks.

Holy christ is the Aerospray OP'd in Turf War. No wonder 3/4 people on each team seem to use it. It's got crazy range, and with a few stat mods you can chain your entire ink tank into your special and then go right back to spraying. I used it a few times and didn't have a single match under 1000p.

I hope ranked allows for more versatility. I'm gonna have to see what my armor in the first game had because I feel like i'm blowing through my ink and then i can't refuel fast enough. I used to main the Carbon Roller Deco but the regular carbon roller is kind of garbage...although with my run speed up I get to go sanic fast which is a little hilarious.

What's the max level right now? Saw a few people at 17/20 in Turf but I see Sheldon's stuff goes up to 30. It's presumably 30 right now, right?

Did they patch in some sort of Nightmare mode on SR?
There is a nightmare level you can (randomly?) get where there's Glowflies that surround a player for about a minute and an onslaught of superfast salmon come out with the golden one among them. They just outright swarm you and there's really nothing you can do except get to a safe space where you can have your teammates help cover you.

A few times I've played where there's an onslaught of Boss Salmonids and you have to methodically kind of remove them. Definitely have found going for the umbrella, the pots and pans guy and the giant whale looking ones are the highest priorities. Those guys will completely wreck a team.

I have the same experience, where WiFi doesn't work at all for me in docked, but is pretty good in handheld.

When I'm in docked, I use ethernet.

I'm pretty sure it gets harder the more you play / the better you do. I'm not exactly sure how it works though -- I think the difficulty level might be invisible to you? I know when you play locally you can adjust the difficulty manually.

When you get to ranked you'll see an average of something like 0.8 Aerosprays per team, so almost 1 per team, but there's a lot more diversity.

I'm trying to figure this out too.

Seems like you can only find out how difficult your Salmon Run round was after it's over? Maybe they don't want people to quit up front or something?

Also, I'm playing 120% salmon run rounds right now but I'm definitely not high enough level to be ready to play this. I'm still a "part timer".

Is this just because the matchmaking pool is too small now, so there's no one low enough level for me to get easier rounds for now?
120% paygrade isn't anywhere close to 120% difficulty on local. That sounds... About right for part timer? I don't remember too well.

There is definately some staggered difficulty to Salmon Run. I easily finished Wave 3 on my first ever proper one without any problems. (I am defo not that good...)

I really dislike how they changed the bigger/smaller squid icons on the top of turf war. I know now we can see which weapon is dead/alive but it's much easier to see the size difference in Splatoon 1.

On the minimap, did each teammate icon always have the little arrow designating which direction you need to push to super jump to them? I just found this out today, what a gamechanger.

Really dislike the match making on rank mode. Probably lost 15/20 matches on tower and usually always number 1 or 2 but get shit teams. I really mean shit teams. One guy can't carry and of course can't play with friends until league mode (already unlocked league).

Man paygrade 180% is fucking nuts. Hope they add more maps and ranks sometime, heard the Professional rank that comes after the Over-Achiever rank I currently have is the last one.

Yeah but I use motion so I can control the cursor. It's easier to just to point and click on them than trying to figure out which button they correspond to.

That rank is completely nuts hectic wise just got to it today. Love it tho.

Happens to me constantly. Not touching tower control again bc of it.

Yup.

Legitimate reason to use motion imo, even if you don't like it at first.

Better idea: just don't super jump. 99% of the time, you're gonna die because of it.

Too many people in this game go around super jumping like assholes and keep getting themselves killed.

Honestly C- is suffering. I just had a splat zones game where I went 17-8 and the rest of my team combined for 16-32. Every life was contest the point, kill 2 and die to a third. I'm so glad you can just get right out of C after C-

Gonna be finally downloading this game later tonight. After being on PS4 so long... it's actually really refreshing to see just 3.3GB for a download.

Just curious... What is the best total you've done in Salmon Run? I was happy to reach 61 golden eggs, but it seems that it's easier circa 180% (lower hasn't enough enemies to give eggs, higher you waste more time fighting)

I've won rainmaker matches by painting one tiny splotch of paint on a wall and swimming in place on the wall, just until the enemy team marches by and I take out the rainmaker squid ending overtime. It just looks like leftover paint from a previous match.
I find walls to be good hiding spots in a lot of situations...

You on Ethernet?
How do you connect Ethernet? There's an official dongle?

(about farming tickets)

Well, it's too late, it was patched this morning apparently... Tickets in single player was respawning.

Learn to cut people's path off
Know when to retreat
Paint under your mates when they're in trouble
Don't attack alone, wait for backup
Don't jump and kill me and you
Be smart, hide when necessary

Just a few tips. On my 📱 right now.
I don't understand this one... You mean revealing your position to enemies? I'm already following the others, I'm relieved. ^_^

I don't see how motion is faster than going MAP, LEFT, JUMP, unless you have insane aim.
Well, It's one less button press, you're either moving your thumb around or moving your wrist slightly. At least motion doesn't require you to shift your attention to the corner of the screen to see which player is what button and then back to the map to find where that player is. You don't need insane aim to do it quickly.

It's a pointless argument though, either way both players probably will already be ready to spawn before the timer is up.

If you're jumping where it's safe, it's fine... I barely never die because of a jump, and I jump quite often.

Though I believe that people should think about jumping not only to get closer to the action, but also to evade when you're in a tight spot. When I'm 1 vs 3 and with no opportunities to do anything of value, I jump... sometimes back to the base.

So there's a bug that let people get infinite xp boosters? Super. Enjoy ruining the game for everyone else

It was patched but a lot of people already grinded like 50+ tickets.

I imagine any future retail copies will scrub it from the game but anybody could easily circumvent the patch and grind tickets. Its pretty crazy that such a simple glitch works.
