What is the "Raw 9.5" under my level mean?

Problem is when teammates are running around they can get crossed but keep the same button. Pressing left doesn't always mean you're jumping left. That's why I like the motion for it.

I don't mean what part of the screen their name is on, I mean the little arrows on the circles. Unless you're saying those little arrows can change directions.

Every weapon you own has a freshness rating from 0-10. You earn a point for every win using it in turf war and you lose half a point for every loss. When you hit 5.0 for the first time with a weapon, you get 3000 bonus gold/xp, and when you hit 10, you get 4500.

I really, really like this feature because it gives you a small incentive to use every weapon in the game, and I'm hoping to get most of them to 10.0 eventually.

Well, It's one less button press, you're either moving your thumb around or moving your wrist slightly. At least motion doesn't require you to shift your attention to the corner of the screen to see which player is what button and then back to the map to find where that player is. You don't need insane aim to do it quickly.

It's a pointless argument though, either way both players probably will already be ready to spawn before the timer is up.

Ummmmmmm guys, there is an arrow around the dot on the map that corresponds to that players position.
Kinda like this

You don't need to look in the corner of the map screen to reference the direction you need to press to target him.

I don't follow. The icon next to their name on the side of the screen corresponds to the d-pad direction you press to jump there. In that image, you'd have to press left to jump to "Inker," even if he crosses paths with someone on the right. You can make some wrong jumps if you've got teammates semi close together.

Thank you, this is what I was trying to point out. Has that been there since launch?

It's not unusual that you KNOW the direction before even opening the map, and I'm still faster at selecting directions instead than aiming... But it's nice to have options.

It's less "I need to jump to [name]" and more "I need to jump to that person in that part of the map" which I do all the time when I'm playing with randoms.

There's arrows ON the teammates markers... You don't need to look to the sides.

you can just buy any usb dongle

I think Nintendo sells one but you can get others for cheaper
Thanks... I have been reluctant to buy one because I fear it would increase the connexion problems (or the ping) if it wasn't a good one, and most are unknown brands...

So there's a bug that let people get infinite xp boosters? Super. Enjoy ruining the game for everyone else
Is this really an issue? You won't see a difference in your games if others are using this.

Well, they'll reach level 30 (or 50?) slightly faster, but it's just a matter of time... It's only 1.5x, in any case.

Good tip - I'm a fan of the motion controls personally. But I'll admit I didn't notice that.

I find I use the d-pad if I'm deep in the enemy's territory, find myself in trouble, and I know "down" on the d-pad will quickly get me back to my spawn.

Right, but that still doesn't change the fact that I might need to press left to jump to somewhere to my right. That's my issue here lol. Left needs to go left. Since that's not guaranteed, it makes more sense to use motion. I just point to where I want to go instead of trying to reconcile someone's position on the map with an opposite direction on the d-pad.

there was a bug. it's patched.

Yeah, and apparently the people who used the exploit get to keep thwir exploited boosts while the rest of us are shit out of luck. if you're going to let people completely bypass progression systems it should at least be equally accessible; shutting the barn door after a few horses have bolted is the worst of both worlds.

I don't know about you but you seriously need to be able save drawings so you can come back to them. I had a great raven I drew and now it's gone since I needed to update halfway through drawing it.

Roller changes i want in august balance patch:

Splat: Increase kill range, done.

Dynamo: Make its horizontal flick actually ink shit like in 1. Right now it is basically just a worse Flingza and that is saying something. At least the Flingza has ink efficiency and bomb rush spam going for it....

Flingza: Its vertical flick is excellent at inking due to its range and efficiency so that part is fine. However, its horizontal flick sometimes doesnt even kill things standing right in front of you. If its horizontal flick actually killed things as intended it would probably be fine. Oh and remove the ink recovery penalty wtf is this shit

Carbon: Remove from game.

The tickets are for 1.5x EXP per game, which is helpful but not really massive boost. It doesn't directly affect other players anyway. They'll unlock new weapons faster, but a higher level doesn't always correlate into someone being better than you.

So i suppose theres nothibg else to get those tickets now?

I mean you can still earn them normally by playing Salmon Run. If you're able to get the superbonus for each scheduled session, which doesn't take a ton of time, you'll end up with a decent number of tickets anyway. I have a few 2x EXP boosters while the exploit tickets were only for 1.5x

Fuck, i knew that update was for the freaking meal tickets. Why did i update, i just arrived to the part were i could take advatage of it yesterday.

So i suppose theres nothibg else to get those tickets now?

Can anyone please fill me in on how to deal with abilities? I assume it depends on playstyle, so I mostly play turf wars with an aerospray, focus on inking, but not shy of the occasional kill.

I've gathered up a good amount of 3star gear, but I think I remember the base ability being most important? For the other, should I keep scrubbing until I can afford a complete custom set up? Any suggestions to what that setup should look like? :p

(about farming tickets)

Well, it's too late, it was patched this morning apparently... Tickets in single player was respawning.

Oh the ticket by 2-6? It seems to still work for me. Didn't know it was a glitch/bug. Seems more like lazy QA/spot checking, but I didn't mind.

How does it affect anyone else's game again, let alone ruin it?

hello friends I am here to beg you all to use this goddamn sponge to take the high ground to approach the center when the enemy team is in control. watching teams just funnel directly through the ground lanes into the entire enemy team was really starting to drive me insane on Port Mackerel splat zones this morning

Ugh. I fucking hate this. Now I feel compelled to use shitty weapons I don't like until I get 10.0. Totally ruins the fun.

God damn I hate stuff like this. Legit makes me want to stop playing.

To whomever suggested trying motion controls using split Joycons.

I love you.

Motion controls were simply not working for me with the Pro Controller, they would never click. I kept using the stick and forgetting about motion aiming when in panic mode. But with the Joycons, my decades of muscle memory to use the right stick doesn't apply and I can waggle it around as needed.

I'm so much more efficient now. This is great.

The main ability is more potent than the subs of the same type yeah

Basically the best all around set, especially for the aerospray is ideally 1 main of swim speed, 1 main of ink resist and 1 main of ink saver (main)

The subs ideally being combinations of those with ink refill replacing ink saver (main) subs if possible

Run speed subs are ok as well

Scrubbing and adding slots as well as filling those spots with chunks that you got from scrub farming is how you get specific abilities but it's very expensive and you can't even add slots until level 30

One slot is 10 chunks the next is 20 and the third would be 30 so it's 60 chunks of an ability that's needed to have the same sub on a piece of gear

That's the competitive gear setup, it's basically the best option on every shooter outside of like the nzap which wants more run speed

Is there team matchmaking in ranked or just league play. I am getting mixed messages. And does League play have voice chat. Thanks. I just want to play on the same team as my friends

I would go for Swim Speed Up and Ink Recovery Up if I were you, so that you can get away from rights quicker, and always be loaded to spray new areas.

For now, scrubbing and rerolling through leveling up is the best method, but that'll change once splatfests happen.

How will it change? I've been playing for a few days now, but have only now been looking into making custom sets by scrubbing abilities (though it looks like its gonna cost a whole lot). Are there any guides online that suggest what gear/abilities go best with certain weapons?

It’s really the same for most things, there are clear cut winners in terms of sub power levels

Shooters are what I listed above which also works well for shotgun type weapons
Snipers are similar except you drop ink saver mains for refill, you really want swim speed and if you are learning how to play them sub power or ink saver sub is ok

Rollers are ink saver main basically what I listed but ink refill and ink saver mains are basically their life, run speed does not effect the roller speed

If this is like Splatoon 1, the power of the main one is 10, the others are 3. But you see diminishing returns when you stack abilities (30 isn't 3 times more "effective" than 10).

I guess it's the same, especially with the "double all abilities on the item" ability... 10+3+3+3 and 6+6+6 is about the same, so it's not a powerful ability.

When you get to 15.0, you get 6000 XP. I'm not sure if it goes past that.

As a roller, I have more troubles with the secondary eating a lot of ink, so I'm not sure I would save on main rather than on sub.

I'd say ink resistance can be useful, maybe even more so with brushes?

I listed that yeah, I mean as a roller it's just those 3 that mean anything to you, main saver literally lets you do roller things more it's basically the reason to use the weapon

I think if people are just sneak killing with the roller and chucking bombs the better option for you is the brush for sure

God damn the octobrush is doing freaking work. Wow. easily 15 splats minumum each round while doing decent painting. Please don't nerf Nintendo :/

Also am I the only one who already has his first page full for each of the gear sections? I'm glad today there was money as a reward in Salmon run, that 64k helped me to net get completly broke lol, spending everything on gear and leveling it then. Don't even have time for finishing the singleplayer.

Have you tried seeing if the joy-cons need an update? haven't experienced this yet with my joy-cons but also haven't tried the other 2 pairs i have.

I've never seen an update available for any Switch controllers, and I doubt the joycons have anything to do with it. The first few times this happened they weren't even in the house. The last time it happened they were fixed to the docked system, not being touched.

I'm sending my pro controller in and hoping I don't get one with a bad D-pad in return. I've only seen two other people complain about this issue online (and it took a lot of digging)... I assume if this was a glitch with the game there would be common reports of it.
