From what others have said if you have more than one of the same ability they will stack. Each star on a gear represents how many abilities that gear will learn by experience points when you play online matches. So by reading this thread I understood that 3 side abilities equals 1 big ability, right? But does it make sense that i have 2 of the same big ability activated? Does that stack?
How do you get into that target practice mode? I need to get used to motion controls.
ThxGo into your menu where you change your gear and you should see a option to test your weapon.
You can go into the weapon shop and test a weapon. It'll take you to the practice map.How do you get into that target practice mode? I need to get used to motion controls.

So if you look at a piece of headgear and it has one star then that means it will learn one more ability by leveling up. If it has two stars then it will learn two more abilities by leveling up twice and so forth.
So we are basically getting a new weapon per week?
Meanwhile on ARMS

I was joking, it was just a funny coincidence. Split joy cons are the only way to play!
Salmon Run being locked out is stupid. I can never play as I work full time....

I just can't figure out motion controls. I've watched videos, gone into training, gone from one end of the spectrum from high to low on sensitivities and nothing works for me. I've gone from dominating to now just being frustrated and being the one holding my team back.
How in the world does anyone learn to use this. Mouse and keybaord in shooters felt natural. Twinsticks took a bit of learning but I had it within like 30 minutes to an hour. With motion i've been doing it for like 6 or 7 hours at least and still can't use it.

Also new content every week isn't exactly common.

Anything that can paint!Alright. Buckets and brushes are straight bullshit.
Is this a shooter or a brawler? Pick one, Nintendo.
I'm gravitating around the Tri-Slosher and the N-ZAP '85.I love people slowly agreeing with me about the trislosher and octobrush.
Is it possible to somehow add people to your friend list through the game or the app? Never seen the option to do so. I got a friend request from some random fella and it says Splatoon 2 is the source of the request.

I'd love to try the tri, pity I haven't unlocked it yet. And I still haven't got the octobrush because I was paying off Annie for a sick 3* visor.
Is the range on the octobrush really that much better than the inkbrush? I tested both out in Sheldon's range and they didn't look to be that different.

I'm not sure if it's a bug or not but the octobrush has deceptively long range and it is bullshit but you'd probably use it to climb ranked. The issue is everyone else is using it so you get matches of kamikazing into other brushes and the match could go either way s you just have a bunch of brushes and buckets stuck in C-

Dear god.
On my best days, I can be an absolute assassin with that weapon. Whew.I love the look of the N-ZAP '85 but I kinda suck with it.
I believe everyone gets the same gear on the App right? If so there is some pretty good gear available for order right now. 3 ability shirt (white t-shirt), boots (hunting boots) and hat (beret)
Wait, are those pants?
Yes, but i read that 3 small ones on all my equipped items are as strong as one big one and i was questioning myself if 2 big ones really are as strong as 2 big ones or if it just stops somewhere like you can equip 2 separate items with the same big ability but it doesn't stack.
But where you mentioned the stars, why do we even have this stars? I mean I can see how many abilities one item can get because of the question marks on the items?
Why are roller players always the worst and most importantly on my team?
The beret's nice. They had that on a couple of days ago. I wish it didn't have that clothes-pin in the side of it though.
What's the ability on the hunting boots? I haven't seen one before. Looks like some sort of stealth ability?
