I am .500 in my first 50 matches. Not bad, considering I am not an online shooter guy at all. This game is an absolute blast. I sold my Wii U, so I never tried the first one, but this game is a perfect Switch title.

My OCD kicks in line the little robot guy on Wall-E whenever I see enemy ink my viewpoint.

Thanks for the tips with the ink brush. I'll save up to make s build for it in the future.

I've really been trying to get adjusted to the motion controlls, but I can't find a good setting that works for me. Any suggestions?

Start with the default setting and adjust by very small intervals until you reach a sweet spot. The default setting is really balanced, but not for everyone.

The game is simply fantastic. I don't care if it's 'more of the same.' The gameplay is so engaging.

For some reason, I find this game to be much more fun than the last one. It's definitely more of the same, but it feels way more balanced and enjoyable somehow.

I think the reworked powerup moves fixed my biggest gripe with the original game. But also, something about it just feels better. Maybe it's the lack of a huge mandatory Gamepad between my hands?

Since the meal ticket exploit is patched, I gotta get workin! I've had this game running on sleep mode since I got it Friday and have barely touched anything. It's been a super busy week and I had Snake Pass to finish, and outside of that I haven't felt like playing games. The update has already downloaded. I'm gonna leave it that way, blast through Hero mode, farm to 99 coin/exp tickets, and finally shut the game off.

Or, since I haven't really played yet, could I delete the game data (got it on cartridge) set the system to airplane mode/no automatic updates, and play SP freely until I feel like connecting to the internet again?

Does having 3 pieces of gear that have a first slot of Ink Resistance really do that much to help? I had that in Turf War for a few matches a couple nights ago and it didn't seem like it helped much with resisting much damage.

Ugh, no wonder my hat and shoes kept giving me cold blooded. I thought it was just bad luck because they are two separate brands, but no, they had to give two brands the affinity for cold-blooded.

Its great that amiibo branded items can just give you any ability equally.

Also squidforce is fucking amazing if thats what it gives you. I just flat out avoid clothes that have respawn punisher and cold blooded cause theyre worthless.

Off the top of my head... the usual stuff is probably:

Walls don't count toward score. Inking walls is for traversal or for halting enemies climbing walls.

Don't bother inking thoroughly. Shoot straight (not down) to cover more ground faster.

The last 30-40 seconds of turf war are what truly counts. If you can, save your specials for that critical moment to keep the advantage.

Super jump only when it's necessary. It can reveal the position of your teammate if they are hiding, and can leave you vulnerable to instant death if your teammate decides not to cover for you.

People can see you swimming through ink if you go too fast. You can negate this with either ninja squid (clothing ability) or just moving really slow/tapping movement.

Maintaining turf is still important in ranked.

Awesome. Wouldn't have known any of that.

Question about Ambios? So should I figure out which character is my fave and then buy corresponding Amibo? Or do they all work with all characters for getting gear?

it helps yeah but the diminishing returns are rough, i only use 1 main and 2-3 subs of resist

you can really notice it if you take all the ink resist gear off, you basically are stuck in their ink without any of it

Only the Splatoon amiibos give you gear. Just look up what each one gives you before you buy.

After minutes if agonizing pain, lost in overtime. My team did 0. I brought the rainmaker as far as I could alone and we still lost in the last seconds after they attacked a last time. This really sucks. You can't simply carry a team anymore.

Carrying a Rainmaker match honestly depends quite a bit on the other team's skill and always has. I've carried a few matches, it does happen. I've also had matches where I got splatted once and they got the KO before I could get back in the match. That's just Rainmaker for you.

I could be wrong but i think that ability is more about not getting slowed down as much when walking through enemy ink and not resisting damage at all.

nah it is a breach of personal integrity, this is basically on the same level as breaking a law and proves that everyone who does it cannot hold themselves together and is a slave of temptation

im sure we are all also obese as well as per being slaves of temptation etc.

this is a game about personal skill, not filling fucking bars, which is why everyone and their mother who knows about this has done it or wishes they did if they missed it
if i want to unlock weapons so as to hone my skill, perfect its not like they make me a better player, which should be obvious but you know some people dont like fun or understand it, hence why our friend decided to respond to my simple comment with personal attacks against all the people who did it

No. Way. This has to be a meme post or something?

I mean I understand but Splatoon is very hyperactive while ARMS is a new IP that needs a similar level of hyperactivity to survive.

And no, I don't consider unlocking a boss character as new content DLC so ARMS needs to try again or go into the wooden crate of failed Nintendo IPs because make no mistake, Splatoon 2 is cannibalising ARMS at the moment.

Two different genres and ARMS is doing fine overall.

And more than a boss was added in ARMS. A new mode and ARMS (the gloves in the game) were added.

I think League would be the way for you

Any tips for rainmaker?

It goes like this:

I'm running around and trying to win turf war.

Ally decides to to jump where I'm at.

Enemy kills me.

Enemy sees spawn jump from ally.

Waits till ally arrives to spam fire.

This is REALLY annoying and cheap.

Try to avoid it then. You get notified when someone jumps to youm

its the person who jumped that made the mistake, its pretty clear when looking at the map when someone is engaging or being engaged, its why most of the pro players almost never utilize super jump unless you are stomping on an objective or have a purposely placed player in a safe location to jump to

if someone is jumping to someone else in an area that is currently being inked by the other team which you can see on the map in real time or if the person you are jumping to is in a territory surrounded by ink

in ranked it doesnt really matter because you are mostly smacking objectives into the ground by force in pub games so the kill counts in those games can get up to the 20s easily

Not sure if it works exactly the same in Splat 2 as in Splat 1, but in Splat 1 at least ink resist reduced the loss of mobility from touching enemy ink, and also reduced damage from touching enemy ink on the ground. The damage you took from enemy ink on the ground was I believe capped at 50 and increased at some set rate. Equipping ink resist both lowered the maximum damage you could take from touching ink, and reduced the rate of damage.

Yeah, I try to watch the movement of my teammate and how the ink is spreading before jumping.

Ok. So for when I get to Ranked Matches the Inkling Girl Amibo is good.

Any others worth it?

Thanks all.

I mean you can get opening gambit on regular clothing, it's not exclusive.

The outfits are crazier than what you'll find in stores, and you can unlock music from the first game in Ika Radio (the rhythm game in the plaza), but none of it is really necessary. Just depends on what you're looking for.

yeah...I just completely misunderstood the perk and thought it reduced damage you take from enemy fire

all of this is new to me since I never played the first game
