Doing some art (still a WIP)!

There's a fine art in getting Pearl to look less like a scary child popstar who might bite you, but I really liked drawing her more eccentric look. Meanwhile, Marina just is significantly easier to draw and make look pleasant. x_X

Either way, I like working in pink and teals <3

That looks great! I love how Marina looks and I also like how you modified Pearl as well!

My favorite thing about Salmon Run is the music. It really adds to the stress! Just super effective at ramping up the tension.

I need to practice with Chargers, sadly I'm a liability to the work crew if I have it in the third round.

Splatterscope feels like the most important weapon for this Salmon Run rotation. The comp has a lot of DPS, but those scopes gotta hit those Steelheads. Had one round ruined because of constant bombs and rain.

It's fun to play charger when everything clicks. Had one wave on the beach where they sent out 3 Steelheads, right out the gate. And the Tri-Slosher and Crash Blaster made a shield around me while I stood in the sand and picked 'em off.

Discovering that the first encounter usually says everything about your team immediately. No "This way!" from the lookout usually means a dysfunctional team. :(

Am I the only person who has never played the game in true handheld mode? When I'm playing without a screen, I'm still just propping the Switch up and using the grip

Splatoon 2 is the first Switch games I've found too fiddly in handheld mode. Still entirely playable, but I've had my thumbs slip of the right stick in the heat of the action a few times. Pro controller on the TV or tabletop mode is definitely the way to play it.

Can't believe the difference it makes to "find your weapon".

I was sticking w/ the roller for the longest time (from Splatoon 1 really) and going maybe 26/24 win/loss, with usually a score about 500-600 range.

Finally picked the Aerospray yesterday and *boom*: 34/16 win/loss now and easily hitting 900-1100 score range. I'm also playing more aggressively, usually being the 1st one on team to get to the middle of the map, with the curling bomb special already on. Feels good ^.^.

Also #TeamMayo!

Wow, this looks beautiful.

Opposite for me. Little harder for me to aim, but I like to play it in short bursts as I'm doing various things around the house. Game looks so great in handheld too.

Rollers were OP.
Golden Aerospray was OP.
Gold Dynamo Roller was OP.
Aerospray was OP.
Dualie Squelchers was OP.

Can't wait for more OP weapons!
The Dynamo Roller is a weapon for degenerates. No problem with anything else on that list, but using a Dynamo is just shorthand for "is a terrible person".

This has ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to do with the fact I primarily used short range shooters in Splatoon 1.

Oh gawd, had one Wave 3 on the beach where 3 of those shield guys would not stop chasing me. And I was holding the Splatterscope. And all my allies were down by the water fighting.

Terrifying. THEY JUST WOULDN'T STOP PURSUING ME.

Thankfully the Tri-Slosher came back to park them finally.

Haha
Dynamo in S1 was a one hit kill from behind the moon - I haven't seen a dangerous one in S2 yet.

All the roller seems pretty poor with slow swings and less OHKO range (besides the new jump shot.

Octobrush has got to be the new "OP" weapon. It's like 3x Attack Up S1 by default giving it way more deadly range than it seems it should have, and in a straight on fight it's very difficult to aim through all the ink in your face.

Even on the bigger maps, there are some really strong positions for brushes and sloshers and not much ranged weapons can do about it.

Does anyone have a list of unique abilities that are set to particular clothing-types? What I mean is, I believe all Stealth Swim gear is for the body. Stealth Jump appears to be only for shoes. Are there others?

As an aside, from yesterdays observations, if I'm in Salmon Run with you and I get the Splatling, we've already lost.

I hate rain maker

No one knows how to play it

Especially on fucking moray towers....but that's no different than the first game. I make a huge clear path up the left wall spamming THIS WAY and they go in the corner zip line and we end up getting knocked out. I'm never playing rainmaker again when Moray is in the rotation.

tbh I love Moray Towers regularly, but rainmaker makes me love it even more.

Opening Gambit and Last Ditch Effort are tied to headgear only.

Having zero fucking luck in Salmon Run today. Holy shit am I useless with the paint bucket.

I fucking love the paint bucket. Soo effing useful especially when out in the beach. Randoms seem to know fuck-all with it whenever they have it at least from what I've played.

Whoever holds the bucket should always be making paths in the beach for teammates to swim through, but no one seems to get that.

All the weapons are cool with me except Splatterscope.

I have yet to try playing with friends.

But I'm also secretly glad that voice chat isn't available in normal random battles or Salmon Runs. I'm happy not knowing how much my teammates hate my gameplay.

My opinion though!

So what's the deal with Marina being an Octarian/Octoling? Shouldn't they elaborate more?
Story wise if you collect the scrolls in single player, the second page explains that Marina was one of the Octarians who saw the epic battle between Agent 3, the Squid Sisters and DJ Octavio. It says that many Octarians had their lives and viewpoint changed from that amazing clash. Marina herself deciding that Inklings were an awesome bunch of species and her love for music causing her to move away from her kind.

Plus you add the fans who think that Marina is pretty nervous cause she is an Octarian whose species did cause a lot of discomfort for the Inklings. That's why Pearl is there to boost up her attitude and make her feel welcome.
