1. Fuck Rainmaker, actually the worst mode.

2. I can't escape C+ hell. I got almost nothing but incompetent and probably real life squid teams. I don't like to think the rank hell exists normally, but in this case it is definitely real. You can't win Rainmaker on your own and I would argue it requires more teamwork than any of the other modes. I was amazed as I watched all 3 teammates swim right into a suction bomb that they could see and had time to react to. This shit was fucking frustrating, and honestly more frustrating because of the lack of communication options.

3. On the topic of communication, why can't they map left and right to a phrase? How about "Get back" or "Wait for my special" or something like that? Also Booyah, while it has it's character, feels kind of useless.

Finally got a chance to start playing this again after finishing all the Ace Attorney games and at last got to do some Splat Zones, my best mode.

C- to B.

At long last, the ACTIVITY LOG IS ALIVE!!!!

"Played 80 hours or more."

I was actually surprised at how my playtime started plumeting on day 8. I figured it would outpace BOTW since its a online game but BOTW still reigns supreme. If I can't hit 100 hours by day 18, then BOTW wlll still be the quickest game to 100 hours. Obviously, Splatoon 2 will outpace BOTW someday, probably in August since it just has more longetivity, especially once the real updates, the maps not tied to splatfest, start coming.

Heres BOTW for comparison. My quickest game to 100 hours:

Day 1 - 03/03/17: 5:15 (From 1:15 to 6:30 AM O_O)

Day 5 - 03/06/17: 8:17 (Fire Dungeon Defeated! Master Sword GET!)

Stopped timing by days.

I just love comparing all my stats. >_>

My play time for BOTW by end of March was 115 hours and is now 170 and will probably readh 200 by end of year but slower. Splatoon 2 just by being one of my two favorite online series along with Smash, will overtake it quickly and probably become my most played Switch game by end of lofe since Smash 5 seems like it'll be much later. Especially since Splatoon is now on a portable, so I can enjoy it.

Now the real test: can Slplatoon 2 become my most played game of all time by beating Smash 4's 694 (and counting) hours? Find out in the next episode of "Totally Insane Stat Tracking!"

Also RIP in piece MK8D at 50 hours and Arms at 45 hours. Will still play plenty of them but the ink has arrived.

I think I just played you in a couple games. One of the blasters right?

I'd recommend everyone Switch to a LAN adapter.

Yeah, I'd rather not have a 50m cable going from the router to the Switch. That's the point of WiFi.

Lucky for me, I can say I've never DC'd from matches. Only witnesses others.

If it was Mackrel, yep. If it was on Shipyard where I just got demolished, no. I never get demolished. >_>

The Rapid has such a good kit this game with the buffs to the Ink Mine.

One of each actually lol. It was about 40 minutes ago though. Just noticed your username here and thought it looked familiar.

WiiRevolution, your stats are ridiculous(ly impressive) and I love it. Not even joking, data like that is awesome. I'm not nearly dedicated enough to keeping track of everything like that, but seeing the numbers in data like that has me wishing I had!

Does anyone know how to change the name that gets displayed ingame?

Also, looks like I'm gonna be stuck in C+/B-. I'm not good by any means but it seems like I breeze through C+ in 5 or matches and just lose in B- lol

Just switch to octobrush or trislosher and watch the wins roll in.

Had a 14 game winning streak today. Trislosher is OP as hell up through ~B rank. Starting to be less effective in B+ though as people are smarter with their inking, range, and escape routes. As soon as I get to a rank where I'm not scoring what my next two teammates combined are, going to switch back to a more rewarding weapon like the Jet Squelcher.

Oh...that really sucks. =/ Welp, I'm never spending hours on a Splatfest post again then... >_>

EDIT: Are we sure about this, though? Like, is it for sure based on retweets, not likes? Or do likes matter too? And does that mean that on Facebook it's shares that matter? Had I known this ahead of time I would've used Facebook instead of Twitter since I'm more active there... But I can't seem to find anything confirming any of this. Wish we knew more about how it works...

Anyway, if it is indeed based on retweets/shares, here's my tweet if anyone wants to help out~

I rated it in the game! :D

I despised almost all the teams I have been getting. No matter how good I play, I always lose because one or two people on my team utterly sucks. Just this last game I got a person who did 160 while I have one of my best games where I wiped almost the entire team. And this is like the fifth time something like that has happened. Play a brilliant game, stomp because only me and another person are doing work, which tanked my win record to 20/30, which is up since I was at 18/32.

Why do my teams suck!?

I saw your Kirby on the Vinesauce Stream when Vinny was in the Plaza, so I don't think retweet or like amounts are the only thing that factor in what gets into a player's Plaza considering yours hasn't broken 3 digits (though it shoulf). Could be that two or three of them are consistent enough to be in everyone's and just some others are randomized.

When the fuck does my squid start sparkling I'm on a fucking 25 game win streak

35 super fresh on my weapon and everything I thought you were supposed to glow or something

Thanks! I only time (besides Zelda) all my Switch games for 10 days exactly before relying on the 5 hour activity log. But still will be interesting to compare BOTW, S2, VS Mario Odyssey by end of year. Since I don't see any other games getting close and MK8D/Arms didn't get nowhere near BOTW/S2.

I also record my monthly online times/Switch times. I need to go back and write down my 3DS monthly times to but as 3DS has an exact Activity Log I never do. I'd post overall stats but that'd go way off topic. Maybe I'll create a thread someday but probably pointless since hardly noone would keep track of any stats besides 3DS/NS Activity Log stats.

Hello there.

It has been showing up for others, woo! Those hours spent making it weren't wasted after all! XD

Took awhile, but it eventually showed up in my husband's game, and then I heard of others seeing it too. But yeah, I'm not really big on Twitter (I rarely use it, lol), so I kinda doubt that it's based on retweets or whatever after all. That said, the tweet has been getting much more attention than any of my usual tweets, but that may be from people finding my Twitter from seeing it in game, lol. Surely there must be something that determines which posts appear in the square, though, so what is it? Or maybe everything that anyone posts appears, but only posts that are Fresh!'d enough stick around? Anyways, thanks!

Also, I didn't realize until after I posted it, but it seems that when your Inkling appears in other people's games with your post, it will always be wearing whatever gear you had on at the time you submitted the post. It doesn't seem to update at all if you change your gear afterward. Not a big deal but it bugs me 'cause I didn't have my Splatfest tee on, and I really don't care for that polo shirt I was wearing to level up, lol.

Sheesh, managed to climb myself to 22/28, which is still horrible, but considering that I got down to 18/32, I can't complain too much.

I just have no luck with teams this round. Not sure how you guys are getting on these winning streaks. Either you got good team or you're good enough to carry. Not sure how even when I got stomp in a game with 8 kills, took out their defenses, and got over 1000 points of Gal.

If you get a bad loss, leave the lobby rather than continue and come back in 10 seconds or so. Reduces the chance of ending up with them again.

Oh, I know, I didn't get to A- by being oblivious to that. I just hate seeing Aerospray every damn game on Turf Wars, it gets old. The only thing I might limit is their special ability, curling bomb. Takes too little to build it up.

If anything, the only weapon I find to be overpowered, really, is the trislosher.

The Octobrush could also do with a slight range reduction IMO.

Sadly I did this. It usually gets me one win, then when I reenter, I lose badly because someone leaves and the replacement sucks and they're almost always on my team.

I may not be the best player, but I shouldn't be paired with people who can't even break 600 on an Aero or a Jr.

Overall, I think this is the biggest gripe I have with this game compared to Splatoon 1. The matchmaker is terrible. In the first game if I lost, it's because the other team was better, I played a bad game, or there was a disconnect. There was never really a feeling of that my teammates screwed me. This could be because I was a new player back then and was often the weakest link until I got better and I didn't play the first game until it was out for almost a month.

I think it's this. It's just way too early for the player base to be properly sorted yet. I'm a good player - not great, but good - hanging around in A and A+, and I still get absolutely slaughtered by some A- players who had no business being in as low a rank as me on occasion. Just have to roll with it.

Lost too many games in Rainmaker and now I dropped to C+.
Carp

To be blunt, I don't see the point of rank with randoms. It's much like Turf War where you're rolling the dice that you're getting a decent team and that the team you're fighting are not a bunch of pros climbing the ranks and will wipe you.

I wouldn't mind trying League Battle where I can have a team and work together to improve against team of equal ranks.

Well, I am new to rank, never really played it in the first game, and I am surprised I got to B- in two modes. Then I got some lopsided games where the other side just wastes us. I am usually the weakest player or the second from the bottom so I have no room to say it's my team's fault since I am not that good either. But it does feel at times that team sleeping at the wheel.

Absolutely loving the game, just like I loved the first one. The most fun is to figure out what works and what doesn't, since it plays so differently than other shooters. S-ranked splat zones yesterday with my Splattershot Pro.

It's quite interesting to see how covering turf is still essential in the ranked modes, since it gives you and your team much more space to maneuver, while at the same time, restricting the enemy's movement. It's a pity though that some people tend to ignore that in low ranks.

Is there any word on when the next content update will hit? I am ready for a new map. I am actually hoping for a new one and a classic one from Splatoon 1. There are some that I really miss (and also I despise Starfish Mainstage)

You're at the mercy of how good your team are, and there's definitely a LOT more stupid going on in rainmaker than any other mode. In the other modes I easily jumped to B- from C-, not so much rainmaker.

That said, try a different weapon? I know those new Dualies are versatile but I don't think they're actually very good at much. When you use them at any other weapon's optimal range, they come out worse. Due to the double crosshair they're most consistent up close but the loss of fire rate makes them worse than other close range weapons. At mid range, the lack of stopping power hurts them against stuff like the Gal and Splattershot. Pretty much the only midrange weapon I'd favour them against is the NZap thanks to the dodge. And at range they're simply too inaccurate without a dodge thanks to the double crosshair and even then they take too many hits to kill. You have to dodge to even compete and even then it's a weaker option.

IMO you'd be better served picking a weapon which can at least excel in a single area and sticking to that area. You could probably have a much bigger impact/carry that way. If I'm using regular dualies, the dualie squelchers don't worry me. If I'm using the splattershot, the squelcher dualies don't worry me. If I'm using the Splattershot Pro... they really don't worry me. They're decent in turf war but... meh. They're not good enough at their newfound range to actually stand up to other ranged weapons, and certainly not good enough to justify the close of fighting ability in their optimal range.

Getting tunnel vision and repeatedly rushing to your death is the worst. Least I got B rank in all three modes now.

Today's Salmon Run should have a different item instead of the polo shirt, right?

Yo. After playing a few rounds of turf war and salmon runs I'm ready to complain about other players and in dire need of gaf teammates...

Can't seem to find that google doc spreadsheet in here or on discord though...

Any help?

In the discord i thought it was in the pinned messages?

Does anyone else really bloody hate The Reef? It's too small and is crap in every single game mode. It's like a rubbish, shrunken beta version of Urchin Underpass. It's also bland and has no character.

I don't like Moray Towers either but at least it's unique. The Reef is just like they set out to make the most generic and uninteresting map they could.

Nah, I'll accept many things but The Reef is probably one of the better maps in S2 for all modes .

The worst map is Starfish Mainstage, by far, and I don't think it's that arguable. It is much too difficult to get out of your own spawn, and the map is very small, meaning the first team to take the centre in the opening 30 seconds will go on to win 9 times in 10. The Reef is fine by comparison. It's a little bland, but the fights over the bridge stop it being one-sided and it doesn't favour any particular weapon type.

Starfish Mainstage fucking blows.

I like the map, but it drove me crazy in Rainmaker since that was the only map the game would give me. I played for the full two hours and 95% of all of my matches were there and I got sick of it.

This game has two map rotation, give me the second map.

Pretty much same here. They really need to find a fix that doesn't penalize those at a disadvantage.

It doesn't in rank. In Turf War, tough shit, but I have won a few 3v4s and even lost one 4v3. Although this usually happens only if the other team is absolute crap.

I can't agree with that. I had some close matches on that map and there were more than a few times that my team had the lead and then lost it in the last minute.
