I'm forced to play maps and modes I don't want to play. I don't like Moray Towers and I don't like Splat Zones. I'm screwed in ranked right now. I'm not even allowed to play Salmon Run because reasons. The design decisions behind this game are....GRRRR.
 
On my way to the tattoo shop (Dutch Ink in the Netherlands) for making that Squid Sisters tattoo appointment:P will play some Splatoon Later today and level up to unlock the dynamo roller.
 
I didn't realise the app showed your win rate for each map with each mode. I wonder if that's for the last 50 matches as well.

I only mentioned it because so many people have been clamoring for their splatoon playtime the past couple days. I think a lot of people -don't- realize that the parental controls app can be used to get this info from day 1.

Level doesn't always mean skillset since those players could have played the first game and are jumping on the sequel. I have plenty of players in the teens and even twenties who sucked.

But yeah, I am confused when I see a level five in a lobby with people in the high teens and twenties.
 
Also, today was the first time I had Tower control in Musselforge Fitness, and it was great cruising on the tower in the corridor and fill it up with suction bombs galore.
 
I know it's not directly involved in the game, but I was able to finally order myself a Splatoon themed controller last night! Happy. :). Anyways, I really don't have the reflexes any more to deal with anyone half decent in this game lol.

Eh... they cover turf, but they're not killing anything, and the area of turf you need to cover is so small that filling it a second or two faster is a very marginal advantage. Splatzones is the closest Splatoon gets to a straight up deathmatch arena shooter.

They're okay in any mode because of their bombs and special.

Not true. You just need to be sneaky and take advantage of your bombs. Plus, you can quickly charge you special with a Aero. I should know since I do used an Aero.

Not sure why you think that. I can easily get six or more kills on an Aero and lay down a lot of ink. Just because it's easy to used and counter doesn't means it isn't good or dangerous in the right hands.

Yup.

Aerospray isn't even that good in Turf Wars, because points aren't necessarily wins. If there was a better post-match score that more accurately tracked contributions, people would probably use it less. It's the ultimate new player pitfall.

Right, but with respect, as you were saying earlier, you're still in the lower ranks and are getting consistently matched with some poorer players in Turf Wars. Things will change as you go upwards.

Right now, you're at a higher skill level than a fair amount of the people you play, so you'll be getting kills. Once you hit equilibrium, and are playing with people of the same capabilities, what you can do will come down a lot more to what your weapon can do against other weapons, and in that respect, Aerospray really struggles. It does minimal damage and has mediocre range.

tbh giving your team more room to move in is also itself a huge advantage
 
Been at the hotel for almost 2 weeks, I think I'm a bit bored of farming like 50 tickets already lol. I think the internet has been fixed to be good enough to play online.

I agree, but in Splatzones if you control the zone and you're outside of firing range of it, it's unlikely to be a great play, and pretty much any weapon can give you that kind of movement. It can have limited uses trying to take back a zone - it's not completely useless - but it's definitely a low-tier choice.

You can get kills as long as you're sneaky about it and not trying to openly challenge better armed people. It's also advantageous to ink the areas outside of each splatzone as well, and the curling bomb special can flip the map around, especially if you get it as often as an aerospray user should.

I switch between a Gal and Aero and while I am low at rank, I am always on top or near the top in Turf War. While points don't matter, I usually have a lot of kills too. Six on the Aero and about 7-8 on my Gal. I also played the first game where my record between the Aero and Gal were more or less the same and I was against the Japanese players who craps on almost everyone even when they play casual.

So I would like to think I know what I am talking about. Aeros have a lot of weaknesses, mostly it's range and lack of power, but to dismiss as a bad gun is shortsighted, especially in this game where it has a great sub and special.

This. Also a good Aero can turn a match at the last minute in Turf War since they can ink so fast. I can't tell you how many times we lost at the last minutes because two Aeros managed to regain ground in just thirty seconds.

Also this. When you play an Aero, you're a ninja unless you're up against a Roller or Brush.

Again, I played the first Splatoon and I played an Aero on there too against Japanese players since I tend to play late. Me getting 4 to even 7 kills on an Aero was never a problem for me, as well as covering ground rapidly. The Aero in this game is actually stronger because of it's subs and special.

You really shouldn't underestimate a skilled Aero user. Basing a Aero on some scrubs is like claiming the Charger sucks or Rollers are easy.

All I'm saying is I don't really see any Aero players at this rank and those I do see tend to do poorly. It may be in the hands of an excessively good player they're incredible, but then, an excessively good player would still probably be better off using something else.
 
Winning fights isn't just about shooting accurately at each other within range. Aerospray's rapid inking ability allows them to control where they want to fight at and have a far easier time flanking the enemies.

Outside the secondaries (sticky bombs, and less so curling bomb barage) in tower control they don't work well in Ranked at all.

However in Turf War, they're almost a guaranteed 1100 - 1600 points a match (without the 1000pt win bonus). If my goal is simply leveling gear or my base level Aerospray is unmatched, it doesn't even matter If I win or lose.

Maybe, but that argument could be made with any weapon.

And again, it isn't good to base how good a weapon is on noobs. For example, I have yet to play a good Charger in Turf War or even ranked and the Rollers are laughable compared to the users I faced in the first game. Yet, I know how dangerous those weapons are in the right hands since a good Charger can shut down a team and a good Roller can team wipe.

Aeros just get a bad rep since a bunch a new players hopped onto it like the Rollers in the first game, who also sucked one people learned to counter them.
 
Are there any youtube vids or twitch VODs of high level charger play? I kind of want to study the weapon before ruining my record while training with it.

I've kinda gotten the impression that chargers aren't good enough in this game for most high level players to bother with.

This isn't true at all. A good charger is terrifying.
 
Was up against a charger earlier on. Found out he sucked at aiming... but him just waving around the laser sight seemed to spook the rest of the team something shocking.

Made the appointment this art will be on my back next year in April (small on top).

Long wait but for quality i rather wait (and pay the price) then go to a cheap tattoo artist around the corner.

So happy :D now time for the 90 minute trip to home and play some more Splatoon 2;)

Dude will also fix my cheap tribal tattoo for a good price since i was young back then and did not search out for good tattoo artists yet.
