I kinda don't want to scrub this Splatfest tee...

Anyone else like last ditch effort as a main ability in turf wars? So many games come down to performing well in the last 30 seconds and with it you can just go HAM on people spraying like a madman and seemingly never running out of ink.

Finally got my first B- rank so I can finally do League battles. I mean I probably won't play it often or at all but I have the option.

OctoBrush, dude, you've died six times to the same guy in the same place. Please stop doing so, and PLEASE stop spamming "This Way!" while doing it.

I've honestly never been much of a fan of the brushes in general, or hell the weapons that are effectively melee weapons. I like Blasters though, Aerospray is good too (although I prefer Dualies over it).

A six weapon meta is really disappointing. Especially when those 6 weapons boil down to choosing a short range kill machine or a ranged weapon with bomb rush.
There's now the E-liter in the mix as well, used by 5 of the top 20 teams in the last rotation. There were, like, 11 chargers total, along with the same number of Tri-sloshers.

This meta is still overcentralized as hell though.

Anyone know when the next salmon run starts? Don't have my console to check.
An hour from now, if memory serves.

Man all this talk about chargers getting nerfed, I'm just over here trying to figure out how to make the Just Blaster work now that it has markedly worse ink-fficiency and it no longer has a disruptor that can actually allow for chasing down opponents or helping to get in. It's too soon for me to call mist terrible, but it definitely doesn't synergize with the blaster nearly as well as I would have hoped and it leaves that base weapon with very little in terms of options.

Sigh. Might as well just use a fucking Tentatek, after all.

If vanilla blaster has been nerfed in any way from Splat 1 there is literally no reason to use it. Hell, I only ever used it because it had disruptors.

*sigh*

Now there's this guy that can't win at all. He's swapping weapons every match and he's just... Playing really really badly. Four games where whoever gets saddled with him gets a loss.

Please stop playing, guy. You're on tilt.

Also there's this kid that keeps squid bagging on kills. In S+. Really smooth.

Edit: lol, bagger got on my team where I got to see his death X more time than him being alive. I'll take that loss happily, maybe give him some humility.

3 matches with the charger. I got stuck on the same team as two other chargers. Yeah I'm not going to force myself to learn this weapon. I don't think I have the twitch reflexes to take advantage of the motion controls.

First bagger actually DID stop doing it, but then a guy that couldn't carry his weight in the game prior started doing it. What is with cocky kids right now? I know school is out, but come on.

Its ink consumed per shot was jacked way higher (not as badly as the Luna got hit with it, but it's bad), and mist does comparatively little to nothing to really slow an enemy's movement next to the old disruptor. It only takes a major toll if you just sit in the mist for a long time, but retreating out of it seems trivially easy when the blaster's base range is still what it is. Mist is more of a suggested area-denial rather than a tool that really aids in killing and that's why I liked the OG Blaster in the first Splatoon. Now I can't really see the strategy behind the kit and how you're meant to win most exchanges.

If you throw mist, you only have enough ink left in your tank to fire maybe three shots. That doesn't give you much to work with.

Just had an awesome run of ranked games. Decided to play until I got defeated, turns out it took a while. All of the games I've played are not even listed.

Nice. Those KO's!

I think I hate Track Zones. It's not Moray bad, but it's no fun.

Edit: was in lobby so couldn't expound: it's more stressful than it is fun. It also biases certain weapons a lot more than others. You thought buckets were good before? Well this stage makes them god.

With my complaints on the stage made, I also want to note that I've played on it five times straight. Fun. Time to use Jr, Special Charge Up, and see if my gimmick of just playing Turf War on the stage can grab me a few victories to get over the OK line again.

Oh yeah, my Pro Controller is starting to hold inputs (mostly aiming/walking a half second after I release stick) though it was fine ten minutes ago. This only ever happens in Tabletop Mode. Any ideas on what's up?

Honestly, I don't mind that. I find Knockouts underwhelming, I love the gritty struggle.

Easy KO's in rainmaker are what set that mode apart. The only mode where it's possible to leave your opponents with a full 0 points if you really pull it off right (that is, KO them in under a minute, which is physically impossible in Tower Control or Splat Zones).

Hurts when you're on the receiving end, but i have good memories of the handful of times i bamboozled the other team and managed to sink the rainmaker in one shot.

I'm getting paired with a bunch of people who are really scared of combating the opposing team. Like I get it's turf war, but if we don't try and off our opponents, they're just gonna splat us AND take our turf.

But their points.
They don't want to lose time they could spend to get those sweet points.
They have to top the board with their cool points!
Maybe you should just stop trying to play Call of Duty with your kills.
this is sarcasm

people unironically say that though

Finally, my favorite nitty gritty part time job is available to put some hours in :D

This hard hat actually looks cool, unlike the shirt lol.

Splazones on pumptrack is pretty much impossible if the other team has a charger. They can go into one spot that is very hard to get to, and be able to take full aim at the middle.

I got to witness a bagger lose the game for his team as he bagged for the last few seconds right before they lost by less than a percent. Great job there, genius.

The trench along the outside of the hill in the center is pretty safe from chargers. You can use it to go for a flank or use bombs/specials to flush the charger out of their spot.

Impressive. I had to bite, scratch and claw through B-. I keep telling myself that I'm not the issue, but we kept losing. I'm probably the issue.

ffs, last three Salmon Runs have had two people down. Lost most of my bar because of it.

They should change it so you don't lose paygrade when less than four, or at the very least not as much.

Sigh. I was playing Splatoon waiting for my replacement phone and I hear the FedEx truck leave. No doorbell or anything. Check tracking and it says delivered. Surprise!

Nothing.

I hate FedEx. At least I won that match...
