I'm not a furry but I can't get over the fact that people playing a squidkid game are angry/annoyed with furry art being shared

It'd be like someone playing Star Fox getting flustered at furry art being shared on its Miiverse

Hey this happened to me yesterday. It was annoying, but it went away after ten~ minutes just as randomly as it came.
Nah, it'd be like starfox getting tentacle hentai posts.

Splat Zones and Tower Control make me go "How can you be so bad at video games?" Sometimes to myself, most of the time to other players. It's not good for my sanity.

I get that in Rainmaker way more.

In S (S!) the other day on Moray, we splatted the opponent with the rainmaker when they got it to 12, just in time to save our lead of 11. So what does my teammate do when he grabs the rainmaker? Jumps off to reset it, right? No, he tries to swim back so he can get back to the middle manually, but instead gets splatted right by the pedestal to setup a KO. Sigh. I also had someone with the rainmaker switch to the left path on Humpback when the rest of us were covering right... and had just splatted everyone in the way. We could've gotten down to single digits remaining easy, but instead the push ended somewhere in the 40s (if memory serves, we did win that in the end. Still drove me up a wall in the moment though).

Don't get me wrong, Rainmaker is my favorite as well, but at least teammates can't force the objective down non-optimal paths in the other modes.

I'm ready for new weapon kits to be released. It's kinda rough going from a game that had 3 different Splattershot Pro varieties, to just the one. I like the Splattershot Pro in this game, but would like to play a version with a bomb. Gets a little dry, only having one available kit. Same with the Jet Squelcher. I kinda hate the Poison Mist version, I want to play one with a real kit.

Anyone here like the Rapid Blaster? Been thinking about learning that weapon but I have no idea what abilities go well with it. Run Speed, perhaps?

I unlocked it today and I also want to learn how to be efficient with it. So far, I'm only good with three weapons.

Rapid Blaster is super fun and very consistent :) the main problems that Rapid Blaster usually faces are breaking through enemy perimeters and dealing with fast enemies at close range.

Some movement buffs can help you maneuver better, which can help with the above problems. The alternative would be to focus on getting Splat Bomb Launcher more often, since that also helps with the above problems.

Dumb question but how do you put the Rainmaker on the enemy point. Just managed to do so and I have no clue how.
You paint and climb on top of the enemy pedastal with the rainmaker, which would automatically trigger the dunk animation and give you the win if you don't die mid animation.

Kinda wish there was a training mode beyond just the weapon testing range. Something like skeet shooting or a target range with pop up targets might be good.

I'd like to work on getting better with chargers but I am pretty bad with them to the point that I actually felt guilty playing Turf Wars but there isn't any other good option!

I did have a moment of excellence where I domed three squids in a row in quick succession but other than that I was struggling.

Yeah, it's definitely one of those where you start playing it, and you get a bunch of fast directs, and it gets a little addicting. I totally get now why Rapid Blaster players really like the Rapid Blaster.

Ah, nice, was thinking movement would be good. It makes a pretty skinny paint line, so I'm thinking a little Ink Resistance might be good too. First instinct was to make Run Speed + Ink Resistance build, but that's a good idea about Special Charge. I'm going to try that one next.

The thing I run into with the weapon is the finicky spacing. I have a tendency to stand too close to get those indirects.

Have you played through the story mode yet? The last stage before each boss takes place on a multiplayer map against Octolings (where you have to collect 8 mini zapfish). The AI isn't great, but it's a different way to practice. Plus there's no time limit, so you can practice as long as you want until you finish the level.

i didn't play splatoon 1 even though i was interested.. Really enjoying this game so far! Lots of fun only level 8 but it's growing on me! and looks like i haven't scaratched the surface.

I stalled out after the first boss. Couldn't hurt to try this and I should finish it at some point just because.

I'm loving the idea of a target range with pop up targets, it'd be a killer minigame too!

Play the SP. The obstacles in the levels get fairly challenging as you progress.

You can try player single player with a Charger. That should help a little.

I'll do it!!

I had a blast trying lots of different weapons today. I want to have options other than the Tri-Slosher. Luna Blaster seems kind of crazy and my N-Zap play is improving a lot.

Anyone else getting connection errors lately? I have stable internet and I'm also playing on a wired connection, so I don't think it's on my end.

I have never passed from 38-12, I wanted to play a couple more matches to see if I could make it to 40-10 but the game is having issues filling the lobbies with enough players.

I got to 40 early on, Ranked then made a big dent in it. Much easier to carry a team in Turf.

I think this was my best (Turf War), but people have been disconnecting all the time the past couple of days. Not much you can do when you only have one teammate.

Just booted up Splat 1 to play with a Mini Splatling that can actually move faster than a slug, I was craving some fast shooty.

I have not one but TWO hot takes

One, this game was ugly. I'm not one to look for poor graphics just but I can see so many jaggies and the game has slowdown and the framerate isn't even consistent without bomb slowdown and the game seems really dark and the fashion isn't as varied due to no Anniezon or Murch and

Two, this game almost isn't worth playing if you like Ranked modes. It was bad enough when I quit two~ months ago (prevented myself from playing until 2 arrived), but I had forgotten just how pigeon-holed everyone is with their freaking Quick Respawn/Stealth Jump. And they all have the awful Bobble Hat to boot. Very unfresh. Didn't play any Turf War because these ugly mothersquidders had me boot the game off after four rounds of the same stuff.

Back to Splat2. It's not perfect, and I still love 1 but what a shock jumping between them now after two months' time + nearly two weeks with 2.

Edit: my record is the same as the above, 42/8. That batch was all in Turf War though.

Btw, I decided to change it up and try out the Jet Squelcher. Overall, what is the average point for it? I tend to get around 650 points a game with about 2 to 3 kills.

l like swim speed better with the Rapid. lt helps to reposition yourself if you're being pressured and maintain your optimal indirect kill range and in the worst case scenario you can swim strafe more easily around your opponent if he closed the distance and you're trying to land the direct.

The biggest problem with the 2-map rotation in this game is how often you end up playing the same map 5 times in a row. They really need to up it to a 3 or 4-map rotation, at least.

I've noticed this.

My lord...
Yeah I'm getting kind of nervous about that haha. I don't mind it at all when it's an Inkling though.

Yeah that actually is a good idea. It would give it a lot more variety for sure.

I just had a ranked match where I was one of three Octobrushes on our team... We got lucky and had a good run to get all the way to the end, but we were so close to losing, and it hardly seemed fair at all. How the hell did matchmaking even do that?!

Also, I keep getting terrible teams. I switched to Octobrush and on my first game with it, this happens...

Two dead weights. It's frustrating when people don't know that you should be protecting the guy with the Rainmaker and clearing a path for him, or if 3-4 are down you push! It's aggravating watching the guy with the Rainmaker firing it instead of pushing after we wipe the enemy team. If there is no one in the way, your teammates can ink a path for you. You just need to go!

Again, having two more phrases on left and right D-pad would sure help.

Well, based on the numbers, that game was a 3v2 by the end of it, though it looks from the k/ds that it was probably a 3v4 for most of the game, with one person on each team disconnecting partway or late into the game (or else your teammate with 12 deaths managed to rack that up extremely quickly). Hard to worry too much about having "dead weight" on the team when you're playing from a big disadvantage.

Should I worry about my K/D?

I haven't started PVPing because I'm doing SP first. But I'm kind of worried because in Destiny everyone looked up everyone's stats and trolled.

I guess PSN makes it way easier to troll than NN but is there a website where people can look up competitors stats?

KD has nothing to do with winning so nope. Forget about it.

I accidently pressed the power button on the Switch causing it to go to sleep as it was about to load a Turf War online game. Naturally when I turned it back on it said that the connection was lost due to the console going to sleep mode. I stopped playing just to be safe.

I really hope I don't get penalties for that.
