People put Mustard on their fries? One thing I don't understand, though, is why Mayonnaise? Isn't it usually Ketchup vs Mustard?

My last game was around 16:40... Over 2½ hours ago. How could they drop the ball THIS hard?
...people put mayonnaise on their fries...? I feel...not good about that...at all. Surely that is not a thing?People put Mustard on their fries?

At first I was concerned they had completely region-locked the Japanese splatfest, but of the games I have played so far, they have been stable. Finding games, however... well, you know how that is right now!
Time and level are irrelevant in this, I mentioned ranked modes specifically for a reason. Turf War is always going to have those issues.
And that's still not matchmaking's doing nor its responsibility.
Doing my part for the reds:
The mystery stage feels like something from Super Mario Sunshine.

But it's not a real global Splatfest. NoA could've altered the theme if they desired, as they often have.Mustard isn't popular in Japan.
Are you actually in Japan (that is the only region it's started in so far, right)? This game has been observed to implement ping-based matchmaking, unlike it's predecessor; perhaps there's a cutoff somewhere? My last game was around 16:40... Over 2½ hours ago. How could they drop the ball THIS hard?
It's not geo-blocking at a technical level, it's ping-blocking, which would have a similar effect. Just curious, why do you have the Japanese version outside of Japan anyway?Just guessing here, but I think the Splatfest actually *is* geo-blocking JP region players from joining the JP server with other randoms if they're not in Japan. If you see other people online, there's a good chance they're not in Japan either. Send invites to everyone you see and try to get a team going.
Then why is my team almost instantly filled, but there are no enemies in sight? It's not geo-blocking at a technical level, it's ping-blocking, which would have a similar effect. Just curious, why do you have the Japanese version outside of Japan anyway?
That's... A little more curious. Are they Japanese players? Then why is my team almost instantly filled, but there are no enemies in sight?

Hey guys. Long time gaf lurker and this is my first post. It's taken online Splatoon 2 to get me to make my first post.
Online in this game is currently so broken that I have not enough words to describe my irritation. This being a 4v4 game, losing one team member spells doom. Losing two - well. Let me just get out the vaseline and bend over.
This morning, I've had four consecutive matches (and I've quit after each one to the lobby for a new set of peopel) with dropouts. Two with one dropout and two with two.
NINTENDO - FIX THIS.
They need to come up with some solutions and fast. Drop the match with no penalties for anyone. If two drop - flip one to the other side mid game to even the numbers. Half the level of ablities for the non nerfed team.
I'm all for being crap and losing. That makes my skill level improve. But when I'm dealing with this bullcrap so often - this just makes me want to back away from the game.
Then why is my team almost instantly filled, but there are no enemies in sight?

In EU I barely know anyone who uses Ketchup on their food, it's just disgustingly sweet and bah.
Mayo is the best thing ever on fries, salads, sandwiches etc.
New weapon to return to Splatoon 2 this weekend according to japanese splatoon twitter.
Nintendo Life reporting.

Sploosh-o-matic apparently.
I'm getting the same, team fills up (mostly Japanese), but no opponents and the lobby closes.

People with Japanese usernames aren't necessarily in Japan.
What the hell is going on today. An entire lunch hour of Turf War and won all 7 matches. =/
No D/Cs, no stacked teams, nothing. I'm kinda scared.
Anyone else already having tons of clothes on Splatoon 2? Already have 4 pages of shoes, body and head gear.
All have good usefull main perks atleast. All thanks to splatnet and the players with cool gear and some items from the shops.
My Squid needs to look fresh lol but irl i also have tons of clothes so it makes sense.
