Ive been getting wrecked the last few matches and its always because of a misread in strategy. I always go deep into rival territory, but it seems like everytime i do, every one of my teammates want to jump to my location. Putting our home area vulnerable. Thats caused the last few losses.

If everyones chosen team is both wrecking and getting wrecked then the Splatfest should be pretty close battle wise.

Its infuriating. Only one person should press into the enemy base. The enemies distracted by that intruder are ones that aren't fighting the rest of you.

But all too often I find myself trying to defend the middle - or even our spawn area! - by myself because Tinky-Winky, Dipsy and La-la went off into the enemy base as a tightly huddled group.

Ya, I'm team ketchup and all the hardest teams I faced were also team ketchup, some of them were FIERCE. Team mayo had some respectable teams but there weren't any that were just totally dominant and some sucked.

Love the core gameplay of this but imo it just needs lots more content. The maps are already getting old as are the extremely short matches and the way the ranked matches can be over inside 90 seconds.

I've yet to play more than the first couple of single player levels but they were very fun so far. The co op mode is great but again gets old fast.

The multiplayer part has the makings of a very good online shooter but needs major changes to game types with many more maps to hold my attention more than a couple of weeks.

A game I'll keep and return to in a year when it will hopefully have many more maps and game modes.

I'm definitely going to finish the single player mode.

There's at least 9 more stages coming in free updates. They also promised more content for Salmon Run, hinted at new mode, amount of weapons also likely to double at least etc.

Splatoon 1 today is so different from how it was revealed. So much more content.

The true demons are within ourselves. Or our respective condiment anyway.

It's not possible to have a tie right for Splatfest? Like one of the sides has to win right? I mean like the final results for the actual Splatfest.

This is why it's better to be on the more popular team with the new way they score splatfests. It's basically a coin flip on which team wins solo and teams based on the distribution of players so having that that +1 already baked in is a huge bonus.

Well there's 3 categories and the winner is the one who wins most categories so no. Idk what they would do if a category was tied to a point but I don't think that's very likely scenario.

This has been my experience also. Ketchup vs Ketchup can be intense... it's the battle for the true Ketchup overlords!

Same here. Almost every match I've had against mayo has been a stomp in our favor, but other ketchups always give me a tougher time lol

So I created a Splatfest room with just me and my friend but I can't start the game unless I have a full party of four players!?

Some of the posts in here are funny I stay wrecking ketchup crews but if I have to fight a mayo team we get blasted smh, do ketchup on ketchup matches even matter for the splat fest?im already queen thanks to my wife so it don't really matter to me

I'm deeply regretting choosing what I like, rather than going with Mayo knowing full well it was likely to do much better.

Nah, you wouldn't be a true Mayo. That by itself would make your teams most likely lose. It's why some mayos here aren't dominating, they don't have egg and oil coursing through their veins.

On both my accounts, mayo has basically wrecked. Managed to get Mayo King twice with relative ease.

Man this matchmaking is just rough. Had a friend over to hang out and play and we can just barely get a game going. Why could Nintendo not realize this was garbage?

This sums up my experience pretty well. I got destroyed by some other ketchup teams but definitely won most matches against team mayo.

It's impossible to get a tie in the current scoring system unless everyone is so in sync and so balanced it resulted in 50-50 in popularity.

Done. Took 45 games (24-21) to reach King/Queen. The last stretch of Moray Towers over and over nearly broke me but I finished strong in the end with a little win streak. It was super rough at the beginning though. Like someone said, maybe the good people stopped playing lol

I feel like the power level is just about trying to avoid the system giving you uncarriable team as long as possible. So luck plays a big part with such big skill differences. Peaked at 2316.7 but ended up at 2279.8.

Took me 27 games to get max rank but you wait more than you actually play so it still takes a good time.

Better than me. Highest is 2117.3, currently in limbo around 2050.

Past couple matches have been against my own team though so I'm taking a break.

Matchmaking just needs to be improved. I end up with 3 Ketchup fanboys while the other team has 3 Ketchup or mayo kings or queens. Jesus...

Well king only means they played a long time. You can have better MMR at fanboy than someone at king.

That said the matchmaking really seems to be even worse than usual in Splatfest. IDK if it's just the player pool being smaller than usual (can't pull players from others regions) or what.

Anyone up to play some games right now? I really want to play with my gf and a friend but we need to be 4 people so we are missing one person. Friend code is 4050-1462-9445, please let me know if you add me and join my room afterwards!

EDIT: I didn't specify. I'm mayo, so I need whoever wants to join to be mayo too

Does anyone know whether the MMR/Ketchup level factors into the rewards you get?

Tri Sloshers are at least manageable. (They can tone down the damage though)

Octobrushes need nerfing in at least 3 ways cos they is some spammy bullshit.

they are outranged by 90% of the weapons though, and their ground coverage is average at best. You can spam all you want while standing still, you'll get splatted even by Aerosprays if the enemy knows what he's doing.

If you have teammates that always cover enough ground for you so you're able to flank constantly then yeah, it get's kinda OP. But otherwise? Nah.
