Man I don't know. He would eat EVERYTHING with ketchup. That was just the weirdest mix. Haven't seen him since we were kids though. Maybe he stopped. But that experience makes me feel like Americans' love for ketchup is rather tame even if I don't share it. :P

Team Mayo ftw.

I tried to use rollers at the beggining of the event and did terribly lol, but then I switched to Dualies and started wrecking. Didn't manage to reach King tho, not much time played sadly.

So I finally got Spla2n yesterday and I keep seeing miiverse posts (or whatever you call them now that miiverse isn't a thing) about furries and to a lesser extent anime. Did the mayo vs ketchup rivalry somehow (d)evolve into a furry vs anime thing?

For food, this makes sense. I'm all about that.

For any drink it's fucked up.

You only live once, man.

SplatGAF is it's own little bundle of weirdness haha! And I love it!

SplatGAF is great! Awesome place to be.

Does that include drinks?

Wel...uhhhh.... no...

Lmao please stop. You're killing me.

I'm aware. That wasn't really directed at Ketchup, people being bad at percentages crosses condiment lines. It's just blowing my mind is all.

I'm bad at math. Lmao I failed 2 math classes in high school and 3 in college :D

No, unfortunately furry loving posts were there before this Splatfest.

Report them as much as you can see.

so is the mayo color like, an official color now or something? My inkling still has mayo colored hair and ink.
Probably not considering certain colors are just used only for Splatfests from what I recall about Splatoon 1.

Besides, we would never witness the end of white ink jokes if it did become official.

Once you go furry... you never go back.

Don't even know how furry love got big.

I can't take furry love seriously.

I don't think we'll see the mayo color again... it kind of looked very... creamy and NSFW.

Embrace it!!!!

I'll invite you a Michelada (Beer + hot sauce + tomato sauce + lemon + salt + tons of weird things)
I don't drink alcohol so all I know about micheladas is that my sister gets upset when supposedly Colombian restaurants here don't know how to actually make them Colombian style. Knowing how bland our food typically is I'd guess it's not as spicy as other versions.

Hit level 10 a few days ago but got my first taste of Ranked Battles today. Oh my god its like a brand new game. Turf War got stale really quick so I was having second thoughts about the game but Ranked really got my competitive juices flowing. Tower Control and Rainmaker have me on the edge of my seat every round. I dont think I can go back to Turf War anymore.

Looks like we ended up having too many novices on Ketchup getting stomped to pull out wins. At least you still earn a hefty amount of snails on the losing team. Not enough to 3 slot all of my Amiibo gear though.

Reached Ketchup King yesterday and it was my first day with the game. I love it but I don't understand most of what to do about snails, tickets, stat reroll... is there a good guide about that?
I have yet to try other modes besides Turf War and campaign, but this game delivers. Found my online enjoyment again after getting bored of BF1, Destiny, Cod and almost Titanfall and Halo.

When you re-roll abilities on a piece of gear, does it reset all of the slots? Or just ones you select?

Team Mayo won in Australia. Because Mayo is the best. Not sure if it is its own region or clumped into Europe.

Australia is grouped with the US along with NZ

A bit better ping wise which is nice but nowhere close to ideal. Doubt they'll ever group Aus with Japan.

Am I understanding this correctly: the higher level you are, the better weapons you get to use and the more abilities you get to have on your clothes?

But not only that, the game doesn't really matchmake you with similar leveled people?

Being higher-level grants you access to more weapons, not necessarily better. The Tentatek Splattershot, widely regarded as one of the best weapons in the game, becomes available at level 4.

And yeah, gear with more slots doesn't become available until higher levels, but honestly, that's not really that big of a deal.

And I believe the game usually tries to match you with players of a similar skill level, not players whose in-game level is close to yours.

the game intends to matchmake you with similar level people, whether it does is arguable. I think on balance it does and most people talk about when they're salty rather then when they dominate for my money.

You don't really use 'better' weapons the higher level you are, but it does open up more options.

You do get more abilities on your clothes but imho the subslots don't bring a decisive advantage anymore, especially since they removed def up and atk up. There's still a few unique abilities that are kinda no-brainers for me like ninja-squid, but not that many.

Bummed that Ketchup lost, but not really unexpected. The handful of matches I had against mayo were not very good ones, despite my best effort. My prediction for the next splatfest is pens vs pencils, with pens being less popular but ultimately winning

Nope, the level 1-50 is not used for matchmaking, there's a hidden ranking that is used to put you with similarly leveled players. While you do unlock new weapons, they aren't necessarily better than the early ones, just adapted to different uses/playstyles. You're correct on the quality of clothes, but those can be improved now with the snails and you can buy three slot items via Splatnet.

Geeez that was a really close first Splatfest... in the morning I have to explain to my kids that we lost (all 3 of us were ketchup) and Mommy the traitor's team won...

I reaaaaallly hated playing against my own team 90% of the time.

I managed to break the 1700 barrier an maxed out my ketchup rank but Saturday early am matches were a massacre of terrible lol

So, SplatPros, for a newb like me, how should we strategically use the sea snails to maximize their worth? I've been grinding for ability chunks and this strikes me as a lot easier but I also don't want to waste them.

You fucking serious after i won 90% of the games I played? You fucking ketchup failures. I REGRET BEING ON YOUR SIDE.
But mayo is disgusting so I rather take an L than fight for mayo
