I'm not a PC gamer so I can't weigh in on the disadvantage of controller vs key/mouse, but you should be more than happy with the PvE content that Destiny 2 is sure to offer. From the first glance videos of the European Dead Zone, there will be hours upon hours of exploring available here. And that's nothing to say of the hours you can spend on the story, strikes and raid if you're into that.
The way I've always looked at Destiny is for full price on most games I'll get anywhere from 10-50 hours of content. Destiny vanilla just going through the story and strikes alone would get you 20 hrs or so and that's not including the raid, heroics, nightfalls, etc. where you can grind it out for the best gear. I think anyone looking to avoid PvP will be happy with what they get out of D2.
