Thanks!
Nice to hear.

Consensus says Nintendo is just being extra cautious. The manual claims you unplug it to avoid malfunction and/or data corruption.Theres a sticker on the power cable that says to unplug when youre not using it... theres no harm in just leaving it plugged in for days or weeks if turned off right?
Played some Super Mario World today. Still remembered all the early secret exits. Nearing the end of world 2 now.
This game is awesome. It just feels so good, and it's not for platforming novices, as I saw first-hand trying to introduce the world of gaming to my five-year-old daughter. I think there are multiple blocks there though, especially with the d-pad.

I don't remember reading that warning on other Nintendo products but who knows.
Anyone think geek preorder ship yet
That's probably about preventing an unlikely high-speed scratch I'm guessing. The GameCube manual used to warn about removing the spinning discs when the system was off (telling you to wait till it stops spinning itself).
Nintendo manuals are all about unrealistic safety precautions.
Yup. Never knew about it until recently. Cant imagine its actually fun to play like that. But you can.

My wife and I play through FFV and FFVI co-op often. We always have a good time. We tend to take certain characters and trade off overworld/dungeon navigation.
Exuro said:... One thing that will help is you can dash off a wall to the other side of the room. See if that helps with staying away from him. Also make sure to have your thumb on shooting when you aren't doing it so you're always charging.
Just ordered a reproduction earthbound players guide to help me through trying to play the game / giving it one last shot to hook me.
Quoting for the new page in case any Contra experts can advise. If Vanish-Doom is fixed in FF6 then I'm in trouble, haha.
We started playing Contra for the first time today. Playing on easy after several attempts we barely managed to beat stage 1. Game is as brutal as advertised. Am I understanding correctly that you must beat the entire game in 3 continues and 7 rests (potentially getting a couple more rests along the way) with no checkpoints or saves to restart?
If so, that's insane and I will indeed have to resort to making a save state if I finish stage 1 with lots of rests left.I wonder how many stages there are. I had no idea Contra had the crazy awkward top-down shooter rotating section that I promptly ran into.
Also, what's the difference between 2 player A and 2 player B?
Here's what I found:Quoting for the new page in case any Contra experts can advise.
Hmm, I think I'd like B a lot better. Two tiny views is really tough. Then again it would be confusing in B when someone rotates the screen. Thanks. Here's what I found:
"In 2 Players A, two engage in creature crushing simultaneously. While in a top-view stage, you'll be battling on different screens. The 2 Players B mode is like 2 Players A but the difference is, when you're in a top-view stage, you'll be on the same screen rather than separate screens."
FYI
Earlier in this post I mentioned some de-syncing issues I was having with my 8bitdo snes30s. Turns out the firmware on the controller was pretty out of date. Once I updated theyve had no issues whatsoever.
I was surprised to be so out of date (I was on 2.7, current is 4.1) because in general I thought I had been keeping up on it. But I guess not.
So yes, working perfectly with NO unpairing anymore.
Quickly switching between SNES and NES classics without issues.
Modding?Quite happy that i decided to buy this early as a christmas gift to my bf, i've been looking for some italian translation of Chrono Trigger, Zelda and FFVI and i'll patch em in as soon as "modding" will be available
Modding?
Wait, i might have missed it, people were posting Chrono Trigger stuff so i thought it was possible to discuss it? my bad i guess
On this note, what's the best way to rip a cart? That seems to be the only option for Turtles in Time unless there's a virtual console version I'm unaware of.It is possible to discuss it as long as we aren't talking piracy. If you rip your own cart or, say, extract a rom from a previous purchase on Virtual Console, no problem. Patching the games already on the SNES classic with a fan translation is totally fine.
Though as per the current situation in the thread title we aren't supposed to whine about when mod tools are going to come along.

Are you sure save states still work?
4 slots per game: 32
3 slots per game: 39
2 slots per game: 48
1 slot per game: 65
Cheers, thanks.
I hope you played it before at least. I've never played the game before today that I can remember, and it was painful.I'm no expert but I did beat the first 3 lvls right away lol
Felt really goodMy 37 yr old skills still shine sometimes lol.
I think the SNES Mini comes with an Earthbound Players guide. Go to the Game Manuals page using the barcode on the menu and you can download it.
It looks like it's on the list but I didn't download it to verify.
Edit: Yep.

So is modding these considered on the same level as pirating, or is it viewed like emulation ? I'd be a lotttt more interested in picking one up if it had all the SNES games but not if it's something sketchy going on. In other words, is it considered "okay" to mod these ?
Well if you're downloading roms that you didn't buy it's piracy surely. So is modding these considered on the same level as pirating, or is it viewed like emulation ? But if you ask me it's an even bigger crime that Chrono Trigger is absent![]()
Reset the system. Go to the save state. Press X. At any point during the rewind you want to continue on from that point, press start.
No you have to reset from the console unless you have a Wii Classic Controller with a HOME button.
Wasn't there a way to set up reset with the controller for the NES Mini?Or an 8bitdo /retro receiver wireless combo. Down + select.
I know Ive been a broken record, but every time I post this someone new discovers it and says thanks. Hopefully its not too annoying.

Since you have the 8bitdo controller and it seems to be working well for you, I'm just curious of what the real differences would be if I got this SN30 2.4G which comes out on December, 10?
