Hopefully this proves to Sony fans that their precious company isn't flawless and they put out duds. Be humble, like Xbox and Nintendo fans.
Hmmmm... This game had lukewarm previews, there were good reasons to think it would not be an 8 or even less a 9... However, given Sony's track record it could also have been.
Kotaku review complained about the main character being a White Guy
oh well, let's dock at least two points for that offence! I mean, a white guy suffering in the apocalipse! tell me about that trans midget flourishing, and finally be accepted in the apocalipse, if you want that 10 out of 10, also make it less interactive, I'd like to not hold the controller for once, be creative!

The fun thing about the Kotaku review is that someone had to ask in the comment how challenging and complex is the game compared to other games in the genre! Now you see that review was made by someone who cares about the games -- as games!

Doesn't count. It's a woman
The victimhood points have seen a lot of inflation, and the demand for womanhood points isn't what it used to be, even gay points don't win you arguments anymore - unless you use the intersectional tables and multiply their value with either, a big body time, some sort of disability (ability I mean. make her a cybord of something), or add some ethnicity that doesn't have fair skin (coming from a poor country is not enough, neither is being homeless, you still have your privilege card).

To do open world in this day and age you need to come with something new. If not, retreading old ground is too long in the tooth now, as most gamers have a good few open world experiences under their belt. Studios need to try harder than this, if this was released 5 years ago it would probabpy have scored much higher.

Ive seen enough that I want to give it a go. While I know lots of folks don't quite appreciate the biker dude on a motorcycle in the pacific northwest, Im looking forward to crusin through the area.

There's some strong bias among these retarded journos going on for sure. Why do they shit on this game all of a sudden as if other Sony exclusives that received universal acclaim from the same outlets were God gifts to the human kind?

You wanna tell me that Spider man, Gow, Uncharted 4 were masterpieces with groundbreaking gameplay and mechanics? Dont make me laugh, all these exclusives were mediocrities incarnate, only for some reason they were praised to heaven and this game is not.

I cant figure out what's the deal with this, but something is certainly off

Expectations. Journalists have an easier time being honest with games that don't have extremely high hype levels.

So, Breath of the Wild with human enemies?

I personally found that one review text interesting where they said, it's now a complete different kind of game than it was a year ago. I hope someone will unearth what happened during the development of this one, as I don't think any of this went well at all.

I think they were talking about tone and story. What probably happened was pro reviewers were hired to faux review the game, hated the tone and story, and Sony sent in their story guys to try and make it more critic friendly.

Dreams? TLoU 2 too, according to some rumours, but that is yet to be confirmed.
I meant real set dates (day/month)
Sony seems to be sitting on a lot of a games in development that will either have a release date announced very close to release day or will be pushed to 2020. We are already near the middle of the year.
Dreams need some more time in the oven. The EA is being great and the "game" is amazing, but I wouldnt be surprised if it gets pushed to 2020, there is still a lot to be tweaked/added to it to be in a real "ready" stage.

after playing:

the last of us
6 uncharted games
god of war

i have zero interest playing yet another sony exclusive . third person walking filmic game.
especially if it is based on ZOMBIES.
Holy shit generic sauce.

Maybe i will give it a go on the ps5 when it is around a tenner.

It's funny how any time a game gets high marks everyone wets their knickers with excitement but lower scores get "pre order cancelled" etc... as if they haven't played a ton of high-scoring games that they personally thought sucked. (and vice versa)

In my case after Gravity rush 1 and 2, The other exclusives sony's games are not big deal.

If Sony hadn't put it on a bluray disc, it would be game of the year.

Bluray is that toxic.

FREEEEEEEEEEEEEDDDDOOOOOOOOOOOOOMMMMMMMMM

sarcasm

Acg review is actually quite positive, aside from technical issues, he liked exploration, skills added to the gameplay, and he liked the way the story is structured, you know the stuff that matters. I wouldn't actually be surprised if it had the best gameplay of all Sony's exclusives.

But as usuall pathetic critics got it all backwards it seems

But as usuall with this moron critics they need to shit on good stuff and parise overhyped shit

In looking forward to the exploration. Even if the environments are repetitive they at least look gorgeous

I need to bookmark this thread as evidence of some extreme damage control. I read the first page before commenting...then I kept going and it's just....wow.

Calm down guys...it's not complete crap but it's not the second coming either. I think folks have been spoiled by the likes of God of War and Spiderman. Expecting every release exclusive to Sony to be diamond plated gold is self fulfilling exercise for inevitable disappointment.

People are blaming IGN when it's one score on Metacritic? Sure I don't read IGN's review anymore either, but the culmination that is metacritic is showing this is a less than stellar game and provide reasoning that I both agree with and appreciate that heads up for.

Better luck next time I guess

Wow. Just saw The Verge review.
I think the one term that puts me off the most from buying a new game... Boring.
And that word seems to be a common theme with all the reviews.

Shut up, everyone crapped on Crackdown 3.
I hope this is where the non-humble people start saying 'but it's about fun and the media is bias' and how high rated games on the other side are overrated crap; like the humble folk.

Hmmm yeah all of what I did expect of these people. Lying packs of shit^^

Strange review. I very very sad about giving eurogamer a try after read the initial piece of their review. I enter on eurogamer review expecting no spoilers at all... They say 'no spoiler', but I found a big spoiler there.

I knew there was some shitty bias going on with these journos shitting on the game all of a sudden, i just dont get what it is
If you read the waypoint review you know.

White straight male character, who is an asshole, who does things like slave trading and is not punished for it. Basically they are upset that they have no SJW role model they can push their agenda with.
