It was mentioned at that start that money was loaned to set REE up and I'm sure EL could have an educated guess at how much that must have been. REE only exists to flip it in the hopes that "they" (Isamu Fukui AKA Cerium) could quickly get that 6 figure sum that EL was offered at peak GAF.

Until I actually see the mods clean up their own site, this staff notification reads like bluster.

It implies they've had the ability to fairly moderate but have been holding back up to this point (lol).

Labeling a user as Bad faith seems like it could be defamation in certain circumstances.
They won't define what the bad faith is when contacted and also, perhaps importantly, if there is evidence(and prior history) they had organized and conspired as a group with known non-mod/admin members in private channels and set out to defame someone over a period of time.

prima facie has to be met before discovery, if my quick google on this matter is accurate. A lot depends on where resetera is registered. This is all new to me.

A plaintiff wouldn't want to expect much. Removal of 'bad faith', administration notice of retraction and apology, and court costs.

Getting to discovery would be a great silver medal, though.

What do people here think of Destiny's stance on edgy/racial humor here? To sum up;

Policing of private speech is unenforceable.

People make jokes with certain people that they wouldn't make with others.

People act differently around others based on various factors, like you wouldn't make jokes about having sex with someone's daughter to her dad, but you might make jokes to your friends or with her.

Telling your friend that you know isn't racist an edgy racial joke is completely different from making the same joke in front of an audience of strangers.

More or less, he doesn't give a fuck what you say in private to your close buddies and family, just what you say and how you treat people in public.

A lot of people are calling him racist because he admits that in private he makes racial jokes with friends.

What's strange to me is that people are disagreeing with him but I would argue that this is the stance that most people have on this issue.

I find it incredibly unlikely to believe that all of the people who disagree with him have never made offensive jokes and do not make offensive jokes now in private. The only way anyone will find out what you say in private is if someone records it and leaks it somewhere.

This is not a realistic worry for most of the population so they are free to say whatever they want in private without any consequences and say otherwise in public.

I share the same stance, I don't care what you say in private as long as you treat people well. Your actions and how you treat other people are what reflects on you as a person imo.
