If they wanted a "Safe space" maybe they should have just made a LBQT Gamers forum instead and they would pretty much have been left alone, instead of destabilizing then heisting GAFs user-base at the first opportunity and complaining that gamers dont understand them.

While I know that the usual suspects will be mad at me pointing that out, but I do not think calling GAF average slightly less from the middle is accurate. The poll you are referring to is probably the "value alignment" one, which, frankly, is bullshit and has not much to do with political alignments.
At least the Canadian subset of GAF has voted with 55.5% right-wing, factoring out those who have not voted at all, it is 64.5% right wing vs. 35,5% left wing - where I am counting liberals as left wing (which is questionable, in terms of their economic policies). And this is on a gaming forum, where users are typically younger than the average population. So we have data that the Canadian GAF users are actually significantly more right wing than the average Canadian and in particular much more right wing than the demographics would predict.
The largest part of the NeoGAF usership is US American though, so I guess we will see, in a similar thread, next year, how the alignments are, but I feel fairly confident in my prediction that Trump will win the NeoGAF US-members vote.
Please note, that being right-wing must be fine in a democratic system, so this is not a judgement of character or anything, but I am seriously weirded out by the repeated claims that GAF is left-of-the-center in its current usership.

If you wanted to see an actual right-wing party, that would have been the PPC, but they gained absolutely zero seats this election.
Conservatives in Canada, similar to the U.S, are really just liberals from 10 years ago. They're not actually trying to conserve anything, more like slow down the Liberals from going full accelerationist.
You have better chances of seeing Conservatism/actual Right-wing parties in Europe. Italy or Poland for example, have governments that actually do say no to same-sex marriage or want to restrict immigration.

TLDR Isamu Fukui is a homophobe that tried along with a few other students to get a gay librarian fired for misconduct then it was found out that this libraians actions were exactly the same as a straight female librarian when it came to telling the students to be quiet in the library (by whispering in their ear to be quiet). He then made up a bunch of bullshit about inappropriate touching by this gay librarian.

What do people here think of Destiny's stance on edgy/racial humor here? To sum up;
Policing of private speech is unenforceable.
People make jokes with certain people that they wouldn't make with others.
People act differently around others based on various factors, like you wouldn't make jokes about having sex with someone's daughter to her dad, but you might make jokes to your friends or with her.
Telling your friend that you know isn't racist an edgy racial joke is completely different from making the same joke in front of an audience of strangers.
More or less, he doesn't give a fuck what you say in private to your close buddies and family, just what you say and how you treat people in public.
A lot of people are calling him racist because he admits that in private he makes racial jokes with friends.
What's strange to me is that people are disagreeing with him but I would argue that this is the stance that most people have on this issue.
I find it incredibly unlikely to believe that all of the people who disagree with him have never made offensive jokes and do not make offensive jokes now in private. The only way anyone will find out what you say in private is if someone records it and leaks it somewhere.
This is not a realistic worry for most of the population so they are free to say whatever they want in private without any consequences and say otherwise in public.
I share the same stance, I don't care what you say in private as long as you treat people well. Your actions and how you treat other people are what reflects on you as a person imo.
I think the guy is trying to have his cake and eat it too here.
Yes, you may say some unacceptable stuff in private. That's fine. Private conversations etc are nobody else's business.
I don't think you can then go into a more public space where such things would be deemed grossly inappropriate and say "guys, you should have heard the crazy racist joke I told my wife last night". That's a bit weird.

Sure, I don't care what you say in private but if I know what you say in private then it's not really private.
You don't really get to go up to some guy and say "me and the boys were making some fucked up jokes about your daughter the other day" and then turn round and say "what the fuck dude, it was all said in private" when the guy gets pissed off.
Just seems like a really stupid way to seem edgy while also leaving a way out of criticism.
I think for most people even the edgy jokes they might say in private are still being said in a certain context.

The reality is that Reset Era isn't relevant. The only time they got decent exposure was when they left here. A few flashes with Corporate Approved Leaks, Doxxing a CDPR employee, and a few unsuccessful attempts to damage games like Kingdom Come and Ion Fury.

We might not be super-extra PC here at Gaf, but I'd be surprised if any of us ever did something as egregious as telling vindictive lies about a gay person, targeting them for their sexuality, and trying to ruin their lives.
Yet, Cerium is the great guy, given puff pieces in the media, and we're the ones with all kinds of shit slung at us for... speaking our minds, loving humor, and being welcoming to all?

IIRC the context was explaining his stance on private vs public speech. I don't believe the original clip was just randomly saying "I say offensive/racist jokes in private" out of nowhere. He was presenting the logic behind why he thinks private speech between close friends that you know aren't racist/ableist is fine but saying offensive/racial jokes in public is not.
This was actually one of the examples he gave on what not to do. Since he acts differently around other people, he mentioned he might make jokes to some personal friends but he would never go to his girlfriend's father and tell him that he makes those kinds of jokes.
People have criticized him quite a bit, but for that he says offensive/racial jokes more than the logic and reasoning he used. On the Rajj show one of the streamers seemed to be claiming that saying ableist slurs in private harms people with mental disabilities but I wasn't able to grasp the mechanism behind how this harm is transferred from individuals in private to people who can't and won't hear them.
Actually, the only real criticism that I have with his stance is that he was too honest and should have said that "you" can say them in private without saying anything about himself since it seemed to allow people to focus on him versus his logic/reasoning which would bear the more interesting discussion imo.

The irony behind people on Resetera watching that video and thinking it validates their beliefs is that they're the least qualified to be calling anyone a nazi.
It's turned into a general insult in that its definition is malleable based on who disagrees with them. You don't have to actually proclaim any beliefs in Nazism.
