ResetEra is a disgrace for sure but it's not the future. Maybe in places like California but where I live and work, here in Wisconsin, people are pretty normal and don't broadcast any weird, anti-social behavior. When I first joined NeoGAF I didn't even know what SJWs were or even the state of ResetEra and Twitter. That said, I'm glad I didn't end up joining ResetEra because I hate that general self-pity competition atmosphere and the overall negative vibe. I'm not about feeling sorry for myself and in the real world I try to surround myself with positive people. I guess it's just a little strange to see anyone advocate bullying unless you call it something else - correcting, maybe - because most bullies don't care how their victims feel or improving the world and instead want others to feel miserable.

If as an adult your still crying on the internet that a kid/s in school bullied you, you've just proved them right when they have long long forgotten about being forced into the same space as you.

I really, really would like to just tell you that you're right.
Some people are in pockets. Geographical, rural, social, etc.
Those pockets aren't the reality.
These people (and that is the woke, to be clear) control movies. They control music. They control games. They control books. They control the news. They control Kindergarten to college education. They control every major entertainment site on the internet. Almost every forum.
In the right state, or country, they control the law. Say the wrong thing, even just a crack about genders, on Twitter in the UK, and you'll immediately get an in-person visit from the police.
They control the corporate world, and can end your job in an instant if you say the wrong thing. They control platforms, and regularly end the voices of problem people. They control things as simple as your bank account, and have in fact denied service to famous conservative figures.
As we've seen with Trump, whether some want to admit it or not, they control the FBI and the CIA, with the wreckage and entrapment of multiple lives, like Flynn, because it was Her Turn (tm).
They control popular narratives like Russia, and with all those apparatuses, can guide and instruct an entire populace on how and what to think for years.
That is what normal, decent people are up against, in its totality.
Resetera world isn't an eventuality, yet, but it is frighteningly closer than most would want to admit.

Naughty Dog is a unique case IMO. Popular dev for one of the most (critically) anticipated games of 2020. Very outspoken about ideological / political subjects over the past few years. ND is gonna be in the headlines and in the conversation no matter what, so it's no surprise that people would bicker over TLOU2.

Agreed about ND. I'm not surprised but I have a hard time thinking the politics is even that contentious. It seems to me that TLOU always had strong social subject matter so the approach of the next game is quite fitting with the direction it was headed in.
Again though, it's often it's the way things are phrased. The regulars here are great at discussing but there's others who seem only to want to vent. It's a personal thing but I'm just getting to a point where I open threads and think 'yeah fuck this' and do the old 360 degree turn.
Then again, I'm venting here I guess...

I think you're missing the bigger picture which is that the corruption of stories is an assault on culture. The only counter arguments I saw in that thread were people strawmanning it to be about the characters being too ugly to fap to. The issue is with the proliferation of feminist agitprop in what is supposed to be a form of escapism. Males need an escape from the unrelenting nagging of femininity and video games have provided that for the last 20-odd years. Of course the encroachment into that space is met with hostility, particularly when it's taking over some of the most beloved franchises.

They really don't, I'm on mobile so I'm not deep diving this right now. It's just a trend that the "old white guys in charge" have jumped on becuse they think it will expand thier market and bring in more profits. But they don't understand wokeness so they hire some diversity and listen to them.
What they actually learned is get woke go broke. Post Cov 19 they will be fishing where the fish are just to stay afloat.

I find each instance disturbing, but it really doesn't happen as often as you think. Just as CNN and the likes infects the reers, so the opposite can sometimes happen here. Looking at the article, that is absolutely disturbing, but I'd like a breakdown of those arrests. For instance, is it credible threats to the person, or just "ha ha that's a man". Given, as the report itself states, slut and whore are used 10000 times a week, clearly a lot of stuff ISN'T getting people arrested (and no I don't think we should be arresting people for that, before you go there). The point is that in a mountain of offensive content (any brief visit to Twitter, youtube comments, facebook comments for BBC News etc should tell you that), a tiny amount is leading to arrests and I would hazard a guess that barring the odd over-zealous nutjob it's mostly for properly egregious stuff - one should be disgusted at anything that suppresses free speech while also maintaining a questioning mind about whether that's actually happening.
As an aside - I note that it's talking about London, and the met do have a certain reputation (arresting photographers for being too tall among other things). The rest of the country doesn't have that kind of shit going on, thankfully, which is probably why when you talk to someone from the UK they tell you that it isn't a thing - maybe I should get all SJW and suggest you bow to my lived experience but I won't. It's up to you what you choose to believe, but I do hope you consider testimony of those on the ground to be worth something. And don't forget, the UK voted for Brexit and voted for a Tory government, rejecting socialism. We're pretty based really.

We didn't even make it through the worst parts of Corona without everything being skewed through this lens (IE: the virus was suddenly racist, Trump was killing us all, etc).
You vastly underestimate the hold this has on society. It isn't going anywhere. It's rooted in at a fundamental level, and well, well past profit considerations. How many institutions have gone woke, gone broke, and continued going woke, defying all common sense? It's ideological, not trend or financial projection based. Many see it as a cost of doing ethical business, rather than a profit goal itself.
I used to think it was a fad that people would see the errors of soon, too. That was in the middle of last decade.
Outside of this site, which is a wonderful oasis of sanity, and I think that might be misleading people, things are getting worse, not better.

The folks who can be radicalized by the internet are suffering from a deeper issue. Whether they were jerked Right or Left makes no difference. There's an underlying flaw or weakness that was exposed and exploited, resulting in their radicalization.
So I don't worry too much about trying to convince individuals. I don't worry about a proper Narrative to combat the bad ones. I'm here to speak my mind and learn from others. The frail masses who you say are "winning" are getting swept away for the reasons you already identified: the time of not knowing and not caring has ended.
To put it another way, this ideology wouldn't be infesting hobbies and pushing propaganda if it was actually strong. The ideology wouldn't need to coerce, browbeat, and lie to get its way if it was actually strong. The ideology wouldn't be subverting academia and then using its academic "authority" to bludgeon heretics if their core arguments could withstand scrutiny and critique. Don't be afraid of paper tigers. Set them on fire instead.
