I'm not white knighting. I've dealt with the same kind of BS from the comic book movie crowd for years. I had people threaten to drag me behind their truck for saying Justice League was only two hours back in 2017.

It's a game first. Honestly the gameplay looks solid and the visuals are incredible, I wasn't too happy with some of the stuff I saw in the leaks but just because there's some politics sprinkled in doesn't mean it can't be a good game.

Some people were out once they found out lesbians were involved, don't know why those people didn't just ignore everything about the game from that point but they seem to be masochists.

Let people play the damn game, it isn't that serious.

Not saying it's ok, those people are insane, but it is what it is. You can't let those people dictate what you do.
 
I hate to say this, but it seems like the general environment of video game forums everywhere suddenly became filled with a lot more trolling/toxic posts shortly after Nintendo shut down the N-Sider forums some years ago.

I'm a guy who only communicates online through forums (no social media sites at all) and from my observations, the timing seems too uncanny to not have a correlation.

Now I'm not saying I'm the pinnacle of forum etiquette, but damn, sometimes you can just feel the hate radiating from some people's posts.

ManaByte you are quite well known, correct? and also very active in social media? and also known for discussing extremely popular media that is famous the world over? couldn't all these things maybe could be factors ahead of, it's a toxic medium in of itself? that maybe if a social media platform, which itself attracts a lot of people, combined with a hugely famous IP, which attracts even more people., the raw numbers are just always going to add up to some nuts getting thrown into the mix?

imo most toxic trolling is professional jealousy. they wish they had that platform. it's not that their minds were brainwashed by the same games the rest of us normal behaving people are playing.
