I joined ERA because I really did think it would be more open and transparent than pre-2017 GAF. Obviously, that was not the case. I think some people forget just how bad GAF got near the end. It was pretty damn close to what ERA is now. People REALLY wanted to see Crazy Liberal GAF fail at the time.

A lot of us didn't really follow the GAF drama and personalities. I saw a gaming board with much more traffic than GAF and a promise of fair moderation. I definitely didn't go the "I'm gonna post porn and mock Evilore on my last GAF post" route though.

One pattern of behavior I've learned from Era, is once they feel like you've done something wrong, that's it, game over for you. It doesn't matter what you do. Apologize? Nope, that makes you look even more guilty and emboldens them to keep dog piling and kicking you while you're down. Stay silent? Nope, that just annoys them and they call you out for hiding, egging you to stick your head out of the hole so they can blow your head off, or until a mod eventually bans you anyway. If you've got a target on you on ResetEra, you might as well just accept you're gonna get banned. The only winning move is to tell them all to suck your dick, and move on.
The people of ResetEra are the exact same type of people from three centuries ago, accusing those of Witchcraft in Salem. They are paranoid, righteous, intolerant, overly-emotional, and impressionable. They are the worst traits a human being can have rolled up into one. They are the kind of people who get tricked into joining cults. Many of them will be dead within the next 10 years from suicide and drug overdose, and I don't say that to be mean spirited. That whole website is one giant cry for help. Maybe their parents didn't hug them enough, or maybe they used to be good kids who got the wrong professors at wherever they studied, or fell into the woke rabbit hole on the internet. On one hand, I find Era Culture to be infuriating. On the other I find it sad. Part of me does pity these people, because they have no love in them. They just want to lash out all the time, at anyone. That has got to be such as a sad and stressful way to live.
