Joke post? Because one thing EU hates is lobbying. It's a fucking videogames deal, and Russia is almost invading Ukraine. This will be OK'ed in 5 minutes.

You really believe people hate "woke" stuff? LmaoCan you imagine if COD goes full exclusive to XBOX/PC, but at the same time MS gets super radical in banning people for any kind of offensive language or bad e-sportmanship.
Casuals then drop COD/XBOX because they're banned, they feel like XBOX has gone full woke. These people then move over to PC or go back to Sony.
I would just die laughing, total hypothetical, just having fun with all the different paths this could take.

Xbox Executive Vice President Phil Spencer Calls For Cross-Platform Ban Program - Gameranx
During a New York Times podcast interview on Monday, Phil Spencer, the Executive Vice President of Xbox for Microsoft, made an open proposal to implement a cross-platform ban program for wrongdoers. In the podcast, he mentioned how he thinks a player should be blocked on all platforms if they...gameranx.com
I am pretty sure they were caught off-guard. I mean the talks happened in November. Three months ago. Even less. That's quite something coming from Sony, who iirc was in talks with all major publishers for exclusive content at the beginning of this generation, trying to content starve Xbox. And now they're basically portbegging already.
Yep, it is the end game. MS don't care if you play on Xbox, PC, mobile, Playstation, Switch or even a Gamepass stick in the back of your TV. That's where we're heading, and I'm ok with that. I think they will always knock out consoles though, as long as there's demand for them.If Sony were to buy publishers it would be to make games for their console. Microsoft is buying publishers to get games on Gamepass, these are not the same things.
End game for any subscription service is to get on as many devices as possible.
Yup, it's a bit sad really. Moral of the story: Don't fuck around trying to starve MS of content, you will get slapped. That's quite something coming from Sony, who iirc was in talks with all major publishers for exclusive content at the beginning of this generation, trying to content starve Xbox. And now they're basically portbegging already.
It's not about "owning" where you play games, it's about control. They want to control and dictate the HD gaming market.Games ARE content, and MS is invested in making games.
They don't need to own where and how you play their games. That's a ridiculous notion. When you stream their games on your TV via xCloud, do they own your TV? And you'll be able to use xCloud with a PlayStation controller that they absolutely don't own.
When you play their games on Steam, they don't own your computer.
Yeah. With amount of content they would have in pipeline it's literally impossible to condense everything into 1,5 hour showJust realized that any E3 style event that Xbox holds in a few years time will be massive. Can't wait.
Not their choice, they have to announce it publiclyIts quite smart annoucing these big aquisitions over a year in advanced. It gives gamers time to prepare the appropriate platfform. So when acti-blizz and zenimax games dont come to PS5, gamers are prepared.
This claim is basically to calm down the stakeholders. Investor calls next week are gonna be interesting."P-please no bully."
Wow, very encouraging response and great plan of action.
Yeah, I don't think you read the article. The only comment that was his was: "Good article" — the last bit, was a quote from the article itself. It was the concluding line by the the author of the quoted article. He likely pulled that out for emphasis but you should read the article to understand the full context.I'm clearly responding to his own interpretation of the article, not the article itself. Hence why i quoted him.
You surely need to work on your comprehension skills.
Ah, so now you've resorted to accusing others of being 'warrior' simply because they don't see things the way you do lol. That's just sad. If my example taking the point of the article into account is lost on you well, then, I don't think there is anything else that needs to be said.Good thing that there's lots of competitors in the FPS genre, eh?
If you have your choice of hardware to play the games you like, how then does MS have a Vice grip on the devices you play on like the other fellow said?
You warriors crack me up![]()
And we had 1000s of entertaining threads ! Thanks MS!Its quite smart annoucing these big aquisitions over a year in advanced. It gives gamers time to prepare the appropriate platfform. So when acti-blizz and zenimax games dont come to PS5, gamers are prepared.

I mean they have 31 internal studios and aprox. 43 internal teams. They can realistically release exclusive game every other month and still have almost 4-year dev cycle for every game. That's literally insane.
Yes, this was 20 years ago and related to PC/browser thing. This is videogame deal we are talking about, nobody gives a damn.Learn some history. MS got slapped with the biggest fine in EU history over bundling their own browser in windows.
But Microsoft isn't Sony. The Xbox consoles accounts for just 30% of Vanguard sales, and only 10% are from Xbox Series consoles. You can't make up that revenue by expecting PS owners to buy a Series S. I'm sorry but that's such a naive way of thinking through all this.

Yeah. If you told me 5 years ago, that Microsoft will literally have industry leading first-party organisation i would laugh my ass of. If you told me, that they will have more then double of Sony's internal teams, I would thought you are insane.Throwback to when Xbox had literally 5 studios, 1 of which working on multiplatform Minecraft. In 3 and a half years Microsoft has multiplied it's studio count by more than 6 times, not even including studios with multiple teams. Assuming it takes an average of 4 years for each studio to pump out a game (a pretty conservative estimate), that would mean, on average, 7-8 games a year by Microsoft's first party. And that number would be higher when you start counting the studios with multiple teams. I don't know if people were ready for the amount of games we'd be getting even before Bethesda, but now it's about to be an explosion of Xbox first party games
He has a point.
Naughty Dog - Acquired in 2001
Insomniac - Acquired in 2019
Bend - Acquired in 2000
Sucker Punch - Acquired in 2011
Bluepoint - Acquired in 2021
Guerrilla - Acquired in 2005
Housemarque - Acquired in 2021
Media Molecule - Acquired in 2010
many of the "home grown" games are on the platform through acquisition if you go back far enough. I get ATVI is a big purchase but buying studios to bring IP internal is pretty much how it works
If E3 does come back MS can book out all the slots for Mondays conferences and have an entire day dedicated to them.Just realized that any E3 style event that Xbox holds in a few years time will be massive. Can't wait.
Of course someone had to do the Hitler rant parody:
xD"At least this will be the end of Kotick"
wait when did that happen, he was quoting me yesterday !!Banned until March 1st. He might have recovered from the shock by the time he returns. Maybe.
What would Sony do if it was reversed? They'd be locked down and taken off ms store already.
Also $70 and $10 upgrade path.
Based on what? Is sunset overdrive still in the store and on gamepass? It is?Yeah but that doesn't matter, because reasons
Insomniacs biggest game before being bought by Sony: Spider Man. Owned and grown by Sony, not bought.
Should I go on?
Them two and rivets reaction:
Stan Lee developed a game? What a man of many talents. what part of 'Home grown games' don't you get. Should I change it to Ratchet for your sensibilities?Damn someone should let Stan Lee and marvel know Sony is responsible for Spiderman the game and not bought.

I'm going to miss rhe triggered reactionswait when did that happen, he was quoting me yesterday !!
Easy to say from a fan point of view. Different story when each year it is the biggest selling game. Activision profit is practically COD, ignoring mobile
