This...is a lot of growth for the fiscal year ending in March 2023. It means they will release...a lot more than just Uncharted on PC until then.

Sony is going to keep betting more and more on new IP's, which is exciting!

Over 20 games, both 1st and 3rd party are going to be ready for PS VR2 release.

Sony will have released 3 live service games by march 2023...so far we got The Show. It means we are going to have 2 unannounced games until March 2023 that are live releases.
One is probably Factions...the other is unknown.

The fact that PS5 has almost the double the demand the PS4 had...lmao. And people think PC releases are ruining something here.

Exciting times ahead!

Edit:
. Demand for PS5 is almost the double of the PS4 for the same time (One Year After Each Console's Launch Year, North America Only)
. They predict the PS5 to surpass the PS4 sales (launch aligned) during year 4...so somewhere during march 2023 and march 2024
. China is a huge emerging market for them
. They mention Avatar alongside their 1st party games and 3rd party timed-exclusive games like Forspoken and FFXVI...which might be nothing, but at least it means a marketing deal is in place;
. PS5: Highest Engagement Ever for a PlayStation console
. "Ongoing AAA Slate" | "Continue Free-to-Play Growth" | "Retain Post-COVID-19 Digital Shift" | "Loyal Subscriber Base and ARPU Growth Opportunities"
. PS4 still has the highest PS store revenue: 65%
. In 2013 80% of sales were physical. by 2021 that 80%...belonged to digital, with physical being only 20%
. PlayStation Direct to expand to Portugal (my country does get some stuff i see), Spain, Italy and Austria next.

Does 2025 means, Sony would have 12 new live service games, or is that all the live service they have at that point?

How in the hell are they going to get to 300M in 2022?

They will probably need to unleash all kinds of PS4 games and PS5 games on PC for that to happen. I'm talking stuff like Spiderman, Horizon: FW, Gran Turismo, The Last of Us, etc...

active live service games I would assume. Just like how MLB is the only one currently. The 3 for FY22 is probably Destiny 2 and .. TLOU Factions? Then more and more.

The single player games catalog is insane.

Sony really is a force to be reckon with when it comes to single player games. Christ.

My bet would be day1 games. Since that can generate more money for them.

Or maybe they have multiple pc ports ready to launch.

Finger crossed for Ghost of Tsushima and the last of us collection.

slide 6 is going to give some people here nightmares I think
It would be stupid of Sony to ignore the growing live services game segment. Hell, they bought Bungie.

Uncharted is coming out next month. I think Ghost and TLOU are probably next. They could also release MLB on PC which will get them a lot of MTX revenue. So far all their PC releases have been their single-player games.

They plan on quadrupling PC revenue this fiscal year? It's gonna take a lot more than just Uncharted to do that, so some combination of Bloodborne/Spider_Man/Tsushima/TLOU Remake?

I was little bit confused with the live service chart.
It increased from 1, 3,6,10 and 12.
1 is out right now (MLB), 2 others release this fiscal year (March 2022/March 2023), 3 others during the year after this one (March 2023/March 2024), 4 the year after (March 2024/March 2025) and 2 others the one right after (March 2025/March 2026).

I won't be surprised if we start seeing day and date Sony first party games on PC before this generation is over.

Maybe even before 2023 is over.

They are releasing Factions and TLOU Remake day one on PC and PS5. Watch that happening.
edit: Actually Jim said the PC growth forecast is connected to the 2 live service games strategy...so the 2 unannounced live service games will be day one on PS5 AND PC. It's basically confirmed now. Factions and...something else.

Very happy at the new IP investment stuff. It's risky, and I'm glad to see one of the big three being ready to take risks with creating new games.

I just hope those new IPs aren't third person, story driven adventures with crafting and a bow. Sony please.

the 2 games that will drive this growth aren't announced
Persona 5 and Bloodborne? Those two alone could do it.

...okay, maybe not, but I'm sure they'd sell a ton. PC bros like jap stuff.

Yup and they'll launch with the PS launcher for PC allowing you to use your PSN friends list on PC and earn cross-platform trophies.
Read my edit. He said it himself that it's connected with the 2 live service games yet to be announced. Factions and something else we don't know.

12 live service games?

1. MLB
2. Factions
3. Haven game
4. Deviation Game
5. GG's shooter (by ex-Rainbow Six Siege director)
6. Firewalk game
7. Firesprite game
8-12: ??

Yep keep those legacy PC ports coming at a steady rate. 4 per year at least. Show some love to PS3 as well. 7th gen games still look great on PC.

12 live service games by 2025??? Count me OUT

I'm not using hypocrisy here since yesterday I said that live service games suck in the rumoured ioi dragon game thread as soon as I saw that it would be live service

Let them troll. It makes them all giddy inside if they think you are suffering over it. Feeds the emptiness, not unlike those over at Ree they constantly criticize for doing.

I think the 2nd live-service game might be Insomniac's unannounced multiplayer IP, just a random guess.
I wouldn't put it past Guerrilla returning to their online roots.

Now that i read my post i sounded more aggressive than it was supposed. It's possible he answered before i edited it tbh.

lol at $26.2 million. All this for $26 million. Remember, they made $25 billion last year from their console business.

And $300 million next year means every single game is coming to PC and most probably on day one. Pretty sure I was called chicken little here when i called this 2 years ago. This was always the end game.

I'd say some apologies are in order, but i know im still not gonna get any.
