I'm the largest FF stan out there, but even I admit that DoC was pretty subpar. And MGS did FOXHOUND better than Nomura.

I don't have a problem with the story deviating if that means better/deeper characterization, but I would like to keep the 'multiverse' bullshit to a minimum. I fucking hate Multiverse stories. Yeah, I get that Sephiroth is THAT Sephiroth but as long as I don't get three Clouds running around in the same room, I am content.

One of the things I disliked about the more "realistic" art direction in FFVII Remake is because it had to do away with a lot of slapstick and absurd humor of the original.
To this day I'm still convinced a highly stylized, more anime looking visuals would've been more fitting for FFVII Remake.
