People act like people use their consoles to play exclusives exclusively, but the reality of it is only Nintendo has exclusives to not "really" rely on multiplats.
On Xbox and Playstation people are playing these games and thats about it:

• Fortnite
• Warzone
• Apex Legends
• Overwatch
• This years NBA/FIFA/Madden
• Grand Theft Auto
• Minecraft
• Siege
• Destiny 2
• This years COD.

The odd exclusive that shows up every now and then is nice and all, but realistically no one really gives a shit, cuz the majority.....the vast majority of gamers are in the titles I listed above.
A couple single player third party titles hold their own for a few months here and there but otherwise, the only games that truly matter are the games that most people play and actually keep playing.
Tis why even Sony is starting to invest in going GaaS.

Exactly right. Nintendo thrives on first party in ways Microsoft and Sony will never match. The vast majority of Xbox and PlayStation gamers spend more time playing third party games than first party. First party is important, but the top sellers for both Xbox and PlayStation are largely the exact same games every single year with a couple of first party exclusives typically in the mix.

- Halo Infinite not sure since I hated BOTW at first and then fell in love with it on the second attempt. Apparently it's lacking content though so... hard to tell.
- Gears of War seems like a mindless shooter that I could play through and enjoy and think "meh that was decent". I enjoyed GOW1 and 2 back in the 360 days but that's ages ago and my taste has changed since.

My most anticipated game is Gears 6.

A lot of people here don't know how to play Gears, so don't listen to them.

Halo Infinite will be great once MS is done dragging it in the mud, like they do with all their games.

Forza Horizon 5, again hard to get into, but when it clicks, nothing like it.

Coalition are working on a non gears game, and since they only remade gears 1 due to lack of staff capacity, I doubt they are working on several games.

Not at all OP. They are all great games, and the critics agree. I love them and can't wait for more. The only one I'm not interested in if Forza MS. I'm sure for people that enjoy that kind of game it will also be great and get fantastic reviews. It's just not my type of game.

Forza I’m sure is okay but I didn’t enjoy Horizon. Great visuals but too cheesy and the driving feels flat. Maybe just not my kind of game.

Gears has been stale for ages. The team needs to reboot the game and stop worrying about gender as much as they worry about making a graphical showpiece with novel gameplay. They keep remaking the same formula from 2005 and that’s not going to cut it

Halo Infinite when it comes to core gameplay is good, but overall the game is very disappointing for me.
Gears 5 was also fine, but doesn't come close to the original trilogy for me.
Forza Horizon is one of my favorite franchises of all time but FH5 was disappointing. It's a nice setting, but everything about it is just boring. The set pieces are boring, and the whole everything is positive and we can't let anybody have to work for anything is shit. I regret buying it. I actually watched a really good video on it that I'll link that pretty much summed up my thoughts on it.

forza is still doing what forza does, horizon 3 and 4 were great 5 is more of the same but I know the hardcore fans are enjoying it. I kinda wish the games were more like this car game blur.
gears 5 was dope lets get 6 underway already.
halo infinite this is the rough of the bunch for me. the multiplayer has very big ups and downs. the single player retconned their entire last 3 games(wars 2 in there) and the story kinda just ended and didnt go anywhere. its like they are redoing 4 but with a different race of aliens. Im interested to see where it goes from here but at the same time worried it wont be as good as the old games. at least their gameplay was solid on this entry.

halo kinda has these 4 pillars story/music/gameplay/multiplayer bungie generally hit on all of them with a couple hiccups here or there.. 343 seems to only get 1 pillar right every release and has major cracks in the other pillars. halo 4 and ok story, ok music, gameplay was not good, multiplayer was ass. halo 5 had ass story, ok gameplay, ass music, but good multiplayer. wars 2 had ok gameplay for rts, bad music, bad multiplayer, bad story. infinite has bad story, good gameplay, bad multiplayer, ok music but not memorable.

Reality is, the games (if they were as high quality as they were in the day) would be fine. The biggest issue for the longest time was a lack of diversity in Xbox’s line up. Thankfully that is beginning to change. Sadly though, the “big 3” have fallen in terms of quality.

Gears 4 and 5 were OK, but largely forgettable aside from the one expansion of Gears 5 that genuinely felt like a classic gears experience. If they can bring that to a full campaign in Gears 6, I would be very happy as an old gear head (Over 2000 hours in Gears 1, 2, and 3 MP each and nearly 100% each game’s achievement lists).

Halo has been fucking cancer since 343i took over. Each entry is progressively worse by an objective standpoint and the series is a pathetic shell of its former self.

Forza was some of the best racing on the market during the 360, but the One titles were rather shamelessly shitty, lacked content, full of MTX and greed. Thankfully to offset that, we had some amazing spinoffs in the Horizon franchise… until 4 barely changed anything and 5 was a glorified expansion of 4 with even more pointless “progression” that felt shitty and offered nothing of real value. The series peaked at 3 and has been on a steady downward decline. I hope that with the time they are taking to “reboot” the franchise with Forza Motorsport, it can go back to being the high quality franchise it once was.

I know people are joking about xbox being a halo/gears/Forza machine, but I actually like these franchises.

Forza is simply just the best racing game out there, and while Gears being far from its peak I really enjoy that as well. Have completed Gears 1 and 2, and are doing the third installment now.

However I hate that focus on the MC Fenyx has changed, and you play as his kid and granddaughter later or whatever the hell she is.

I was annoyed when I started playing Cole instead of Marcus, but I find it cool now as I really enjoy his character. However I doubt I enjoy playing as JD or the woman in five.

I hate changes, but we'll see. I've also only completed halo 1 and 2, and some of the third, but I also enjoy it.

Halo/Gears/Forza lasted two years, we haven't had a new Gears in years, Forza went on a 6 year break and Horizon is biyearly. The only recent game we go from this group was Halo with Infinite and we won't see a new game from that series in another 9 years.

Going through GOW, I wondered why only the first got a remaster, as the old would look ugly.

Well, they do look ugly in my bedroom on my standard One, but on my One X it could look like a remaster, which is just a free update for your games.

Microsofts backwards compatibility is really underrated.
