Helldivers 2 |OT| Another bug infested game

Played five hours last night with a group of friends. Game is fun and addictive and on the higher difficulties make you sweat.

Only had one crash when I initially changed weapons on the ship but nothing since.

Combat feels great, I just wish there was a dodge mechanic besides the dive.

I found myself using first person mode a lot while shooting. It felt good and more accurate than third even when moving.

Overall a good experience with some accidental team killing moments that were hilarious.

Tried again on PS5 this morning, still couldn't find a game. Guess this is because of Sonys certification process.

This is my friend code for ps5 bros

I'm gonna use a mic if you people also use an headset (if not you are gonna miss on my hilarious english pronunciation)

I'm a bit worried about this rootkit thing they are using...

Do i get in trouble with the law if the devs discover my secret stash of deepfake emma watson porns?

I've completed multiple mission types solo on Medium difficulty, some really fierce, last minute harrowing escapes, hoofing it to extraction, down to my final life, calling in a Gatling Barrage in the nick of time, so good. Playing with a squad has it's own appeal but there is something uniquely intense about lone wolfing it against all odds and living to tell the tale.

I'm loving almost everything about the game, it's pretty much the perfect sequel though I agree a dedicated roll mechanic would be welcome and battle pass unlocks need to be reworked so you're not forced to buy stuff you don't want just to unlock the next tier. Otherwise the game is absolute fire.

It's strange because i mostly play single player games but i refuse to play this one alone, it feel like 1\10 of the fun without a squad.

Does the game just matchmake you automatically? Every time I select a mission it just adds randoms to my squad. This sucks because you get a lot of team killer griefers.

If you can, try using your charismatic personality to make actual friends. Failing that, I'm willing to pretend for $5 a month. Or a Klondike Bar.

I saw suggestion on reddit to enter a mission solo, put out the SOS and return to the ship and players would join on the ship.

Now I didn't quite get to complete that process, but while trying to do this process suddenly 3 randoms turned up on my ship.

So, its either funky or its just luck of the draw and server load sometimes.

But adding PSN friends works ok.

Ah is that the issue, I tried to find a quick match about half an hour ago and nothign was coming up

I will say though, even on Easy doing this solo is hard as fuck at times, I did a mission to destroy 2 Hive nests' Eggs and I ended up filling a Artillery gun and using the air strikes as some of the bugs were too armored

You nerds don't go on expecting me to put a headset and talk. That's just an air strike too far.

The amount of times me and my friends underestimate the radius of a stratagem bomb.
Also we discover the hard way than the untriggered shell across the map have a MASSIVE radius if you blow them up. Mini nuclear bomb...

I was like "take some distance, I want to see how this blow up". We both went for what we assume a good safety distance but nope...

Looks like the homies are down to get this.

Getting PC version.

Will slay some bugs later tonight I hope!!!

I've killed myself and others several times with the air strikes thinking we were all safe. Some then are just brutal. I try to use the focused single strike to avoid the carnage.

Have you guys added any upgrades to the ship? I'm still a bit confused with the currencies for different perks.

The game is still fucked on pc.

it crashed after like 30 min inside a mission and then when the only time quickplay worked i spawned inside the ship and could not get out.

This is where Xbox is so much better. Your steam copy should be redeemable on PSN for you to at least continue it there when the PC version is broken.

I haven't yet. I'm not sure I have enough of the currency/material needed for any of them.

I'm on page 3 of the standard Warbonds and I have around 8 Stratagems unlocked.

I would not play a game like this at 1080p to get 60 frames on console even if it was an option :lollipop_grinning_sweat:

Also, the console version is even more fucked because they don't get hotfixes as fast as the pc version, at best they get average looking fixes after a while.

I think this would be a fun one to play with my son. But I can't buy it on PC with its current issues.

Looks fine to these old eyes with sharpness at 100, depth of field, blur and bloom off.

But I get you baby. You have a good machine for it. Hope they fix it quickly for all of us.

I'm getting a bug where my 2nd game always plays at ~30fps (maybe lower) in performance mode. It happens so consistently I just restart everything after my first match. That usually does the trick.

Also, the drip feed in upgrades gives me a bad feeling that the devs aren't confident in the games long term viability. It feels like it would take 200+ of hours to get all the weapons and fully upgrade your ship.

I'm kinda seeing why Arrowhead hasn't been purchased by PlayStation yet (if ever).

What's great about the matchmaking system is that it allows you to play with the same people over and over again. I found a good group of randos and we played for 2+ hours. The game allows you to upgrade between matches, even if you are not hosting. It's all really convenient. Hopefully the matchmaking gets fixed soon because everything is pretty seamless, including how quick you boot up the game

The best way to launch it for me is to check who's playing it on my PSN list and join via the game task card on the main OS window. Puts you straight in the game with no menus in between.

I only got in two missions last night but yeah, I kept feeling like Damn I need a dodge/roll ! Also always having to manually reload at the right time is something to get used to. But first impressions for me have been great, looking forward to more.

Played some more. It feels way better with four people. I'm starting to warm up to the game and find myself wanting to play when I'm not. The missions aren't super exciting yet, but that may change with time and I'm looking forward to unlocking things.

Maybe I should watch Starship Troopers at some point.
