I did say that MS announce release dates too early, and they confirmed it would be released in 2024 during their show, so I’m not wrong regardless of the period of delay. It just causes unnecessary disappointment. This is on the back of the Starfield delay as well.

Probably the later. They dont publicly say anything internal like that.
Larian did it for Baldur's Gate 3 and admitted it was because of Starfield which in hindisight is funny as hell. They had no reason to worry at all.
If it does release this year it will be the very end of the year, and frankly we'll see if it does.

To be fair its not been the greatest year all round for the "Big 3". I was hoping for the switch 2 this holiday but that's a bust obviously.
They have Astro Bot, Until Dawn and Lego Horizon Adventures. Maybe not the strongest H2 for Sony, but Astro Bot looks like GOTY material, while the other two still seem to be good games on their own. And H1 was really great with Helldivers 2, Rise of the Ronin and Stellar Blade back to back.

Ppl who are subscribed to gamepass gotta fork out cash for longer time, simple as that, game budget gets stretched too coz dev studio works more, and obviously since its delay- crunch time- game will need to sell more copes to not bomb/reach profitable status

It did not. Everything besides Gears of War E-Day looked closer to release. Go look at the conversations in Avowed, the lip sync. It needed this delay, probably longer.
Diablo: No Need to be Upset
Well, from a publisher perspective this can mean extending the budget as you need to pay the devs for additional months they've spent working on the game, unless the game is ready and is just waiting for release (MS implies Avowed will be the second case, but seeing the game on past gameplays I have some doubts). This also results in delaying all of the marketing related stuff as usually these things are coordinated efforts. Some of them may have some costs involved as they need to update promo materials to reflect the new date and renegotiate deals so they would be shown later than originally planned, etc
Who knew a PS5 Pro version would take that much time.
