Awesome. Will play regardless of the review scores. replaying Astrobot Rescue mission with my daughter. Even at a 90MC its one of the most underrated games ever.

90 MC underrated?

I think you are confused about the posters response. You were saying it was scored a 90+ but that it was "underrated". Definitely not underrated if it's a 90+. Maybe you meant ignored or under appreciated by gamers?? Definitely not underrated at a 90+ tho.
I was suggesting that it should have scored even higher. :) There are moments of magic in the game that I have rarely seen in 35+ years as a gamer.

Hmmm....Mario Odyssey.....97.....AstroBot.....90

Based on this metric, highly underrated. AstroBot is the best platformer since Mario 64

Astro Bot Rescue Mission is better than Mario 64.

As much as I'm excited for the new Astro, I'm not gonna pretend I'm not extremely disappointed it's not supporting PSVR 2. It should at least just be VR'd the way it is (basically a hybrid title).

I get it, but I'm not fucking happy about it.

Did you play it?
No, actually i didn't but i wrote it because 90 MC is not underrated considering how hard it is to get a 90+ on MC (unless the games are hyped like Diablo 4) but i get what you mean it was something special and such.

Pre ordered within an hour of them going live!

Paid for. Don't give a shit about reviews for this one but I'm still going for 92

As someone who owns a PS5 and never played the free Astrobot, what am I missing here?

A lot of this game's appeal seems like a nostalgia kick of "I know that reference!", etc. Is this franchise really the best platformer to come out since Mario 64?

You should try Astro's Playroom.

The nostalgia is definitely there up until the final boss … which hit ps1 owners like myself in the feels. It was a 6ish hour game that taught players all the features of the dual sense controller. Graphics, music, ect were all colorful and dripping with charm. A great platinum experience too. Having not owned a PlayStation since the PS2, it really got me excited to be back in the Sony ecosystem. Easy 8.5/10 for me. A great pack-in game.

I have faith in Asobi surpassing Playroom with Astro Bot. I really think this new game will be a GOTY contender.

Usually when people refer to it being the best platformer since Mario 64 they're referring to the PSVR game, Astro Bot: Rescue Mission. (Which doesn't actually have any of the nostalgia references)

Rescue mission (the VR game) is imo, the best platformer since Mario 64. I think the galaxy games are very close though, might even call them ties.

Playroom is good, if you have a PS5 check it out as it's free. Its also rather short so even if you just find it ok or not your thing, it's not gonna take an insane amount of your time. I think it took me 4 hours for the platinum trophy, and some of that is doing extra things. Not just beating the game.
