I'm surprised website such as ign and gamespot still exist with how prominent YouTube is and news/reviews travel much quicker.

Exactly. I can't remember the last time I went to such a website just to read generally, as opposed to following a link to a particular review or whatever then moving elsewhere.

Since pretty much every outlet started to sing from the same hymn-sheet on politics and social issues following GamerGate, its been inevitable that the readership would contract. I mean when everyone's in lockstep editorially, and there's no longer any individuality... what do all these "different" websites offer?
