Does anyone even plan on playing Yasuke?

Unless it's forced obviously. But I watch videos of Naoe and she looks awesome, movement, attack visuals, I mean I personally feel she could've been the main protag and they call it a day from what I'm seeing. But I'm curious if they are simply selectable who plans on playing solely Naoe?

I think she would've just made for the perfect overall main character, just looks and plays the part but that's just me. I'll obviously try Yasuke but I don't think I'll main him or anything.

Ngl bro looks like he's in the wrong game.

I'm planning to not even touch this game with a 10 foot pole...

Valhalla was gutter tier trash already, and every actual gameplay I've seen so far makes this almost look worse, which is insane...

Nao for sure looks like my "main", but no doubt at some point i just wanna hulk out and wreck some shit, and Yasuke looks perfect for that

It's called assassins creed, I want to play as an assassin which is why Odyssey irritated me a bit as well with the spear animations until I'd levelled enough to make it moot anyway.

I'm sure there will be a few missions where Yasuke is pretty much required or the mission facilitates a strength/brute approach but that's not how I play these games - like RoboSamurai.

That assassination the other day where he has the guy speared two foot off the floor looked comical as a stealth player

Not sure I'll get it any time soon (or ever) but if I do I'd have to play it to know see how his combat feels. His combat system doesn't look too good but sometimes things can feel different to play compared to how they seem when you're watching. If his combat feels good, then yeah I'm likely to play him for some missions.

I think he just looks out of place in an AC game, I love stealth for AC and he is everything but that it seems so far.

Why would someone pay money for a video game and not explore 100% of their options?
For me that's a pretty normal thing to do. For instance I never play as mage characters when there are other classes. And that's even when I know they have some unique quest content, not just different skills or a different playstyle.

As if you think people will even buy the fucking game to begin with lol
It's an Assassins Creed game.
These games have not changed in a decade (not counting some production upgrades) - and people still buy them.
The Ubisoft Formula (tm) is like crack to some people.

I don't think this one will be a hit, but people will buy it for sure. I don't see it pulling a Concord or even Veilguard.

His gameplay seems right in line with the newer stuff...Valhalla, Odyssey, etc.

AC has not had a singular gameplay identity anymore, arguably as far back as AC 4.

That's unfortunate. Personally, I would at least try out the other gameplay mechanics just to see what works and if I could enjoy it.

For example I couldn't imagine playing the entirety of Castlevania 3 and never trying out Sypha or Alucard.

The money I would have spent on this game is going to something else.
I recall lots of people asking for an Assassin's Creed set in japan like 10+ years ago, now that they finally did it, I'm completely over it. Dual protagonists is a stupid fucking idea.

He is a big tanky guy clad in heavy armor and has a lot of weapons available to him. Why won't I play him? Plus going Kool-Aid man on walls looks like it could be fun.

Absolutely this. You can be sure they will have a number of missions that require a specific character and brush it off as: "you can freely switch in between MQ missions".

From watching some previews I've gotta say this game looks surprisingly good, and I haven't played an AC since Black Flag. But yeah, that's 100% based on Naoe. Melee combat has always been bad in the AC games I've played.

Stealth has been just as bad.

Of course. He is better for when you get surrounded and he has some sick finishers. Once the ground level of areas are clear, I will switch to the shinobi to reach synch spots.

I have played characters of a different race then me all my life. I haven't seen a single instance of a character who is of the same race as me yet I don't have an issue with it.

It's just so jarring to see Yasuke in Japan. I would prefer it if he did the girl's role instead as more of a ninja. A lone black person in a different land is already conspicuous enough.

I'm an AC fan so I would try it regardless. I just don't think I'll buy it close to release unless it reviews extremely well.

I'm not even gonna buy AC Shadows especially the fact it's coming out same day as Xenoblade X DE which is the game I MUCH prefer to play over Assassins Creed games.

I do plan on spending most of the time with the waifu, but I don't mind the occasional combat section with a walking tank.
