I’m in the same boat and completely agree. RTTS is my primary mode and they haven’t done shit for it. I bought the MVP Edition of MLB 22 (mostly for the Steelbook) and played the hell out of it. Sampled MLB 23 and 24 on Game Pass and they were practically identical once you got through the intro (24 added females and the “draft”, which was just the skills showcase they got rid of in past games…).

Looks like another year where I’ll be content to stick with MLB 22. I usually only buy 1-2 annual MLB and NFL games per generation anyway, so waiting is no big deal.

Last Madden I played was 15. I might get 26 this year, 10-11 years is a good gap for sports games that don't change much.

Ohtani has already been on the cover, but I suppose he could revisit though - that would rep his both ways MVP status. I don't think anyone would be mad at that.

I would be mad at mixing him in with Sasaki and Yamamoto who are no way the same legend status of Ohtani... yet anyway.

That's true, but the article is missing one big detail concerning the Circana charts. Both Microsoft and Nintendo didn't report their digital sales for the game in 2023/2024. Microsoft, though, did start to release a list of their Top Sellers in 2024, and MLB The Show 24 is a part of that list. So we can see that it does sell outside of being included on Game Pass. It's actually one of only a few that were included on Game Pass to chart.

Yeah that's what I'm thinking it may be - something very basic.

I know they have a year release cycle but I assume they implement some features for in the background over several years before release.

So this year, with some of the older platforms trimmed off, ditching GP, and it being an anniversary year, I'm hoping they've saved a few decent features and improvements for this outing.

But it's pure hopium at this stage.

I bought the Premium edition on PS5 last night because they advertised it as Pro Enhanced on the store, but it has no Pro Enhancements. That’s false advertising.

Yeah we were discussing this in the Pro thread and they ended up updating the faq just a few days ago. No reason for them not to update. SDS is already getting dragged for not upgrading animations and graphics. This would have been an easy goodwill gesture to show that they're at least trying. They read the comments and they're selling more copies and packs than ever. Even Pro baseball spirits 25 is Pro enhanced

Games that actually sell don't have to be released there, specially day one. Like you don't see any 3rd party AAA title released in there day one as well.

If that's all you want, why not just pick up a cheap copy of MLB 23 or MLB 24 second hand? MLB 25 hasn't really changed too much from either of these two versions. Could probably pick it up cheap even new. If you're in the US, Best Buy has the MLB 24 Negro Leagues Edition for PS5/PS4 (dual entitlement download) for $19.99 (at the moment).
