Stock-Age: Stocks, Options and Dividends oh my!

Well my stocks are really up today, but they started off low enough so I was able to grab a few more stocks before the rise. Is it too early to celebrate? Is the mob going to chill out?

Well that's good. Dude was not indicating he was going to pause anyone's tariffs.

China tariffs still wild lol

edit: by good I mean better than not pausing those, but the volatility is insane and has got to be fucking with all kinds of businesses, and 125% in China still gonna fuck a lot of prices / businesses

Hopefully deals get worked out and we don't do this again in 90 days. Seems like the main goal was to hit China so maybe that's all he wanted.

Trump tweets to buy the dip and then he announces a pause that leads the markets to go up, is that allowed ?
He can do whatever the fuck he wants

It's a futile game to play but imagine any other president posting "Buy my stock" right before an announcement like this.

And still introducing those pharmaceutical tariffs and throwing some new lumber tarrifs up according to spokesperson.

This is all so fucking stupid

WTF!

I was in an hour long meeting starting at 1 pm. My portfolio was barely up. I just ended the meeting, look at stocks and holy fuck!

Damn! I didn't load up. Maybe I will next few days

I mean huge risk involved still, Trump changing his mind on a whim it seems.

There's other deadlines like the 17th massive rise in costs for shipping coming from China, on Chinese ships, or even from shipping companies that have a single Chinese ship in their fleet.

The 125% tariff on China is still insane too.

I HOPE we are good to go but I am not personally throwing any of my assets at stocks right now and won't care if I miss out on gains. Just leaving everything.

Ya. What a weird thing. Skimming the news, tariffs are paused 90 days for non-retaliatory countries, but China big tariffs still a go.

Made back all the losses so far today I did in last 3 days. Still need one more big gainer day to cover the first lousy day last week (I think it was Weds). And then one more good day to cover the weeks before that. Aside from today, the only really good day I remember lately for my portfolio was on a Monday I think about 3 weeks ago.

Someone needs to create an app tracking Trump inner circle trades.

I bet a bunch of them bought this morning and if they sell randomly I'd be worried lol

Yeah, don't act like this is over. He's had over 80 changes to tariff policy since he took office. We could be swinging again before close of business today.

Because his tweet or whatever you want to call it regarding "great time to buy" was not in an "official presidential capacity" it could/should be illegal.

Kicking myself over being too lazy to buy some cheap shares.
Me too. I was hoping for a steady landing, stabilization and then I'd get in on a gradual rebound. But Trump's actions of tariffs and pauses made the markets into a sharp v-shape.

Looking at some my equities (before today), the forward PE for some sunk to single digits like 6 or 7.

Nope, just trapped them in and increased them to 125% whilst the others get a relatively free pass.

Trump just activated his Winnie the Pooh card.

Trump trapped himself. He had to lower everyone's tariffs because he backed his ass into a corner.

Trump activated 118% (34+84) of Chinese tariffs. Go have a chat with US farmers on how crippling a blow this will be for them.

If these tariffs on China remain or get worse, we're still heading for a depression. American businesses can't pivot away from China fast enough to avoid getting burned.

This is like finding out only your car is engulfed in flames, instead of your car, your house, your family, and your dog. It's not the worst case scenario, but you've still got problems.

r/wallstreetbets is malding. Obviously this stuff is ridiculous, but I have no doubt they're mad because they sold. Lmao

Eh, I wouldn't worry too much. Markets are still down from weeks back, significantly. Best case scenario trade deals get signed, but probably going to take a lot longer than 90 days to do that. Worst case, we do this again in 90 days, and the people no doubt swarming the WH with phone calls who managed to browbeat Trump into this call him again.

Plus, once the markets get off the relief high, they'll realize there's still a massive Chinese tariff and a 10% blanket that is still quite negative.

Does the European Union get a pause? The pause as I understand it applies only to countries who didn't retaliate, and the E.U. retaliated.

A 125% tariff on China can still be crippling by itself.

Man this feels almost like insider trading/market manipulation by Trump and friends. Make stock fall, buy stocks at lower price, announce tarifs pause and sell when it's high. Absolute madness.

….. how do I invest in warehouses??? Like are there any major companies that offer quick service for large corporations? Because I'm sure retailers are about to flood the channel with as much inventory as they can for the next 90 days.

Existential dread about the future of America paused for 90 days. The enormous China tariffs will still do significant harm to American companies.

Well there's the face ripping rally.

Big question is whether or not it holds or if we end up ultimately retesting the bottom again.

Ahahahaha. Last night he was boasting about everyone calling him to kiss his ass and hes the first one to fold. How will anyone take him seriously after this. he's exposed himself as a poser.

This will be good for the market in the short term, but i think the recession will still come and hurt the poor and the middle class the most. The 10% tariffs might be ignored by most in the short term since they will all assume he will fold again. But lets see if Nintendo raises the price from $450 to $500 when they finally reopen NA preorders.

At the end of the day, this is either market manipulation of the highest order, or he's following orders from President Putin. American standing in the global market has taken a hit that will be impossible for the next President to fix. Maybe the next 3. Which was probably Putin's plan in the first place. His final fuck you to America before he dies of cancer.

yeah it's pretty laughable really.

Kick the can down the road, it's still going to get crushed.

something I find really interesting about this whole selloff is that the diehard trump team members who we have access to almost real time data on for example Marjorie taylor greene to cherry pick one out, bought MASSIVELY over the last couple of red days, like huge buys. So they are obviously 'in' on something, who knows what.

She's been loading the boat among other members of trumps cabinet. If he was so set onthese tarifs, why are his insiders buying like it's a joke?

It's called Kleptocracy.
