Pop quiz, hot shot. How much money have you spent on Steam? And do you regret having spent so much, or so little?
To find out, just open Steam, and follow these steps.

"help > steam support > my account > data related to your steam account > external funds used"

It will tell you exactly how much money you have spent on Steam, though it won't tell anything about keys bough on other sites.

Here is my result. It's not huge, but on the other hand, in recent years, I have bought a lot more games on key sites, than directly on Steam. So the number will be higher.

Damn, I had anxiety looking that up. I did some quick math and I'm at around $560 spent per year which isn't that unreasonable

$3757.34 USD on Steam. I'm guessing another $1500-ish on codes through other sites, so I'm in the $5000-$6000 range. Probably another $500-ish spent on other storefronts like Epic, UPlay, Battle.net, etc.

Keep in mind, this doesn't count money I've spent on other websites like GreenManGaming, which are probably easily 3x-4x as much as this.

Im over 5000 but got 669 games
I used to spend a lot on FIFA Ultimate Team a few years back

Then I discovered that EA shuts down the servers after just 2 or 3 years (I can't remember exactly). That definitely influenced how I spend money on pay 2 win games like these

But sometimes I still feel tempted to buy points, especially when new promo cards drop.

On top of that, they've really gone overboard with the sheer number of available packs and what's inside them

2669.00$, I also buy a quite a few keys so that figure should go up by a couple hundred more at least.
But at least what some of y'all have spent is making me feel a little bit less bad about myself.

Although this gives you an "actual money spent" total, which is great, I do think the SteamDB tool is a better estimate of your total spend if you're like me and usually buy stuff from 3rd party sites.

So in my case, even if I had bought every game that's on my account for the current historical lowest price (hint: I didn't) then I'd have shelled out $11,698.

barely under 1,000 -- interesting. I've had the account for roughly a couple decades but rarely buy anything that isn't on deep sale.

oh yeah, good point. With everything taken into account that I purchased through other sites, the total would be much higher.

4101$ in 20 years. And I never buy keys. I just dont want Gabe to starve to death.....but if anything is available on GOG, I buy over there. Any other stores are usually a red flag for me.
