This game has had so many post-release content updates, it's crazy

Only male and female characters? More feminine female body type and prettier faces?

Hmm full movement, audio and UI overhaul. Ngl it looks great but i still hate the lamp mechanic.

This is impressive, the amount of work they have put into is great. That being said I have a serious burnout from Souls games. I am exhausted of these games unfortunately

Game looks pretty good! To those of you who enjoyed other souls games, how does the combat in this one feel in comparison?
It's great, it's heavy, it's chunky and the enemies have proper hit reactions aka it feels good slashing through them.

Finished it about 1 month ago and it's one of the best souls-likes out there after all the patching, plus, it's incredibly atmospheric and also looks really, REALLY good 😉

It's 20 Eurodollars on PSN at the moment btw

This looks amazing. I already finished on the series s thanks to gamepass, but I think I will buy it on ps5 to finish it again with better graphics.

Looks pretty good, ngl.

Is this on pair with Elden Ring or a few notches behind?

Personally, I enjoyed this 10x more than ER since it's actually using new tech and assets compared to the usual FROM rehash-athon, plus, it's more focused as a game.

Also : compared to other souls-likes, the exploration is pretty great in this one

Sold. And it"s on sale on Playstation. I don't have a couch pal but I think that the soulslike experience worth it. Plus have two genders.

If only they remade the game to remove the terrible other world mechanic.... why are these companies always inventing of a way to fuck up their soulslike.
Souls is a SIMPLE franchise. attack, block, parry, roll, loot, explore. DOn't need no special weird systems.
Lies of P is like the only example that had some good ideas but it's rare

An amazing update to an already amazing game. I already have the platinum, but I'm going to re-install it and check it out. Curious to see what it looks like on PS5 Pro as well. So it's a win win for me. Seriously, don't sleep on LoTF, it's amazing

Lmao the purple retards are already crying about the character creation having more feminine bodies and faces :messenger_tears_of_joy:

Edit: beaten.

Everything updated but to use some weapon supers you still need to finish end game quests and their use resets with every cycle...

It is part of the plot and lore...

Hard disagree man, it's actually its distinguishing mechanic which works preeetty well since it's well implemented aka serves its purpose/doesn't feel tacked on.

Also, it's exactly because of the usual and now tired "block, parry, roll, loot, explore" loop in souls-likes that it has made this genre stale, a game tries to do/does something different= " lol why ?" , a game/genre remains the same = "it's the usual shit", I mean, you can't satisfy everyone 😁.

Also pt.2 : this game has actual exploration and some minor actual platforming compared to other clones out there and the lamp mechanic gives it a LOK Soul Reaver-ish feeling due to being able to switch dimensions freely, it's a win-win in my book.

The fact that it's also easier compared to other clones is also a plus in my book.
Want frustration and masocore challenge ? There's Nioh, Khazan and Lies of P, want something more chill where you can take your time in exploring the environments? This game fits the bill to a T.

Cheers

Nowhere near elden ring (and i'm not an er cocksucker) but the level design is pretty good and reminescent of old dark souls games.

The lamp mechanics is make it or break it, some people find it super cool, some super annoying and superfluos, i was kinda in the middle, neat idea at the beginning but the novelty wear off after a while, but i also played the game at launch so they probably improved something.

Remember there are 2 versions of this. The old PS4 game is not the same game as this one and I think they are confusingly named the same thing. Make sure you are getting the modern Lords of the Fallen game. On PSN it did not appear to be 20 dollars for me. I may just be dumb.

However, I was able to buy 2 copies on amazon for 19.99 each just now. One for me and one for my bro, PS5 version. Good times!

Nice update, bought. Seamless coop sounds fun.

EDIT: Friend's Pass is awesome, basically if a friend of yours doesn't own the game, you can still play the game together. Neat.

For the price, gotta give it a punt.

And I have to be honest, I really feel like devs who continue to work on their titles for a long time post-launch deserve rewarding. This is one trend I think should be supported.

What's got they/them's panties in a twist? They hate the CEO of the studio? I may just go buy a copy of the game then.

Yup, the CEO asked in a poll if they only want male and female options instead of pandering to the 1% loud minority. The results were unequivocally yes.

So they patched the game to only have those options and of course the "purple forum" and "red alien" people are overly upset just as they are with everything.

I'm definitely downloading the game today and will try it out for the first time. It seems like they've put a lot of effort into improving things.

At $20 this is a no-brainer, great game.

And holy shit at 50 post launch updates. I have high hopes for the sequel, and I'm hoping they hit it outta the park.

All of this and then not release the next game on Steam? Like, it's good to see the improvements and such, but I won't say thank you to that cuz they won't let me play LOTF2 using the online store of my choice.

I don't particularly care for Souls like but those are a very impressive set of improvements. I have to give props to developers for really sticking with and improving the overall experience.

It's really cheap on Steam ATM - tempted to buy.

Nice. I have the game, but haven't played it yet.

Always good to see QoL things.

Also, seeing as this is CI, I really hope they plan to do another Ghost Warrior game. The last two were good and they've clearly advanced as a studio since then.

So everything overhauled except for combat which was the weakest part of the game.
I'm just finding out about this game not sucking myself and actually researched this before my purchase above.

Combat was overhauled in the recent 1.7 patch I believe.

There are not a ton of places online that have this info. Like try finding out what gamers think of this game after 1.7 is tougher than most other games. That means that MANY people looking for this info will find this thread, actually. I will try to post back about the game after I complete it to say if it really is great now or not, but that may be a while since I need to complete Metaphor first.

I actually got a physical copy of this on Amazon last Black Friday for under20$, havent tried yet.. I played the first one (2014) which I think was the very first soulslike game made and enjoyed it.. My only concern I see ppl make is lack of enemy variety with this latest game… I do appreciate the devs continue hard work

"Another Highly popular community request has been the ability to create more attractive and generally realistic-looking characters.
"Both the male and female options have been visually enhanced"
"While we've also increased the femininity of the female body type with more attractive face options and a more conventionally feminine body shape"

Just imagine that those three quotes could make people have a seizure and die from just hearing it. Serious, fuck whomever this news offends.

I'm interested to see what combat feels like now. The sequel to this game might be really something. Hopefully they can make big improvements to their boss design in the next game.

I hate Type A/B options as much as most people here, but to be fair, the poll was kinda biased because it was done in X of all places.

The dev team should have send the poll via in-game or via multiple sites if they really cared about the players voice.

Honestly, if it was me, I just own it and do the change and say fuck it, the Type A/B bullshit doesn't really fit our vision and we change it because we want to give players better choices on female options. This whole poll thing was like shooting a bullet and passing the gun to the crowd to say that they forced your hand.

How soullike hard is this? If it's not too crazy hard than I might try it out for that 20 dollar sales price.
I'm not sure how much ver 2.0 tweaked difficulty, but the first boss stomped my ass multiple times when the game first released. It might be easier now with seamless co-op and being able to revive your partner though.
