Lords of The Fallen 2.0 Announced - Full seamless co-op

I just watched the trailer

Do I get this right? If I own the game I can then invite a friend and he'll be playing tutorial and then be able to come play coop for free????

Oh My Wow GIF

How soullike hard is this? If it's not too crazy hard than I might try it out for that 20 dollar sales price.
Well .. its just as hard as dark souls 3 ... definitely harder than elden ring.... but the builds are so much fun, go for a blood build ... dual great swords.. just pure awesomeness

Random enemies, random loot, and finding pre upgraded weapons(to my level) has made the game a lot more fun. The modifiers are great, all souls likes need these options for subsequent play throughs. I am switching weapons constantly.

Elden Ring is much harder than Dark Souls 3 though...unless of course, you're one of those pussies who uses summons, but you aren't a pussy, are you?

I dont summon in souls games but ER was designed/balanced around spirit ashes ... utilizing them makes the game easy outside a coulpe of boosses... playing full solo is masochist imho ... the game is broken and unbalanced when trying it to solo without the ashes with infinity combos/stamina bosses. I congrats the ones who do... but its not fun at all compared to all other souls games.

I hear you for that. My problem with the summons isn't even that they make the fight easier, it's that they completely change the dynamics of the fight and don't help you get better at the game. For instance, summoning the Mimic Tear turns the boss fight into a game of whack-a-mole for the boss. They get aggroed by whoever last hit them, so the fights simply boil down to hitting the boss, running, let your Mimic hit them while they're chasing you, and hit them again when they're running after your Mimic, and stay out of AoE attacks. It's not even that I have anything against summons, it's that they make the fights incredibly boring and devoid of any excitement, especially the beefy ones that can soak up 5x the damage the player can. Also as I said before, they don't do much to help you master the mechanics of the game, so in that sense, they become a "crutch".

Not a fan of how From implemented the Ashes at all in this game. Overtuned bosses for solo play, but trivial and tedious if you have anyone halfway competent with you.

Exactly... I agree

Bought the game just for the friend pass thing. I'll invite my buddy for coop and he'll be happy as fuck to not pay a dime. He's never played souls yet so this might be an entry point.

But the saves all worked just fine.
I reinstalled the game, redownloaded my backed save and now it works fine. Really weird. I'm just happy I didn't lose my NG++ pvp monster. I played some pve today and honestly it doesn't feel any different to before the rework except for jumping. I would go for a run with all modifiers but ironman is too much pressure

Their post release support should be lauded, but when you have "dedicated jump button" as a listed feature of your major 2.0 overhaul, you took a wrong turn somewhere.
DS1 has no dedicated jump button, it's the run circle press circle again one.

I know it can be remapped, but I am so used to it now, that I like it.

Never made it far into this but will definitely give it another shot. Booted it up and I don't know if it's had any performance updates but it seems less stuttery than before.

I have brother, out of all the souls-likes I've played in the last few months (Wukong, Lies of P and now going through Khazan) LOTF has been the one I've enjoyed the most thanks to its Grimdark esthetics (The art direction is really something else in this game), exploration and mid difficulty compared to most souls-likes.

The best way I can describe the game is Dark souls x Bloodborne x Blasphemous with some LOK Soul reaver sprinkled in.

Can't really go wrong for €20 !

Cheers

Ah cheers, will check it out. Just playing Shadow of the Erdtree so depends how soon I crave another Souls-like.

I don't have the PS5 version but have you been to the frozen lands with the passage beyond the door at the Windmill vestige? Every other one is pretty distinct. With the new lamp guidance system you could probably find your way pretty easily.
I've beaten the crow boss after the fiev vestige. Is that what u mean?

It's probably what makes some souls games so hard. You're not really focusing on the combat and enemy attack patterns, but instead thinking about how to get rid of trans people as your in some sort of city council meeting. Next thing you know half your health bar is gone. Imagine how much better we'd be at these games if we practiced compassion and acceptance when fighting some of these bosses. :goog_unsure:

If these guys can get their shit together when they release the next game in the series, it's going to be something special. I played some 2.0 this morning and came away thoroughly impressed...even after I put over a 100 hours into version 1.5.

Game plus deluxe upgrade is only $25 and change on PSN, too.

But not a fan of the lamp gameplay mechanic.

It grew on me over time. I loved some of the level design/puzzles they implement just for the lamp.

Aye. There are others in Forsaken Fen (guarded by Hushed Saint), Tower of Penance (guarded by Tancred), Upper Calrath (unguarded but near final reaper fight), and Empyrean (guarded by Judge Cleric). Which one haven't you got?

I think upper Calrath. I know there is a short cut where the first boss near the main hub area but I never opened it so I can't go that way. I've been where I need to go before but I cannot find the way again. It really pisses me off.

God, what a fucking drama queen moron. Where did it/they pull that gross false equivalence from? How Resetera hasn't been nuked from orbit yet still beggars belief.

I just bought the game so hopefully poor Violet Wren hasn't been harmed.

It is not near the elevator and you need the lamp to move past a gate into the arena. The beacon is on a path connecting directly to the arena with a big ass Rhogar with hounds in front of it.

Maybe it's just me but I played this for an hour and requested a refund. It's too much like a Dark Souls game to the point I felt like I would rather just reinstall DS3. I'm sure it will be in a bundle at some point in the near future. I didn't really care for the lamp mechanic either.

So from what I'm seeing on YouTube videos, this Dev basically listened to all of the complaints from the players, put tons of work into addressing them, released a massive overhaul giving me the option to let my friends play with me for free.. and then drop the price to $19.. I don't care if I like this game or not. I'm buying it immediately.

It has better throwables/projectile systems, harder hitting heavy weapons, status accumulation builds that can make enemies get struck by lightning/explode, and more responsive controls. Bloodborne-styled augments for weapons and powerful unique perks with lamp-socketed eyes and accessories that can change how battles play out are also much better than anything found in Dark Souls. Umbral experience multipliers can greatly reduce level grinding and random loot modifier eliminates farming enemy drops.

The lore is also complete despite being fragmented unlike Dark Souls which leaves too much up in the air and is often incoherent or inconsistent. It has actual endings with different final battles to work towards.

When it comes to magic, projectiles, combat & weapons:

Lords of the Fallen > Dark Souls

...and it's not even close. From still has them beat with music, voice acting and enemy design.

In the case of Dark Souls 3 the unique weapon specials and magic are more abundant. Enemy visual designs are on par in both but Dark Souls 3 has more and a handful of bosses with more interesting move sets. Everything is subjective on that front though.

See. I have no idea what u are talking about. I don't even know which elevator.

This was a good game. The only thing I really disliked about it was the final boss and that there was not quite enough enemy variety.
But it did the trick for when I wanted a game like Souls/ER

I think its pretty pathetic to cater to this request but whatever. Let your game speak for itself, not the amount of boobs you can see.

Gooners are gonna goon

Like as if in Assassins Creed Shadows you could make Naoe have bigger tits, how the fuck is that gonna improve the game?
