Nintendo Maintains Nintendo Switch 2 Pricing, Retail Pre-Orders to Begin April 24 in U.S.

Just noticed James Sawyer Ford just got banned. He was Sony Fans top general.

He fought in multiple console wars against MS, Nintendo, Nvidia.

He is survived by his astrobot plushie and his physical copy of Concord.

You will be missed soldier!

I really want to preorder this from US GameStop because I have a bunch of trade in credit but I have a strong suspicion that the scalpers will be fighting legit buyers tooth and nail.

It's too bad that most of these retailers haven't implemented systems to combat this... but I would assume they probably don't care all too much because a sale is a sale.

April 24th will be the "Day of Truth" for ALL of those YouTubers, Redditors, GAFers, etc. that said "I'm not buying one!"

Can't wait to see how all of these naysayers hold up when FOMO starts setting in and stock starts selling out everywhere 😂

I wonder now that the Switch 2 cartridges are red if the bitter taste of the Switch 1 cartridge will be replaced by rotten strawberry taste

What else is at launch..? Won't touch Mario Kart, not yet sold on DK but maybe.. perhaps just buying the unit so I don't have to deal with shortages? Hmm..

Gamestop will be doing in person preorders so it makes it easier against scalpers.

Bought it in Israel so 710 usd. At least it appears I can use the original Switch Pro controller - wouldn't pay for the new one.

Really hoping that I will qualify for the Nintendo.com preorder and skip the retailer circus.. Fingers crossed on it. Six more days, seems!
The Nintendo store invitation should be your last ditch option. Go for a guaranteed preorder first. If you get a preorder from any given retailer, great. If Not, then Nintendo store will be your last (fingers-crossed) option

I will be trying retail, but hoping Nintendo has me covered. I don't have high expectations of beating the flood of people trying to preorder is all.

and we don't know how common $80/$90 dollar games are going to be (right now it's only MK World).
This is copium imo.

You don't start charging $80 for Mario Kart of all things, then suddenly decide that actually $70 is a great price for your mainline Zelda and Mario games.

They are clearly going to charge $70 for the lesser series like DK/Metroid/etc games, and $80 for their A-list content.

All sorts, mostly. Exception of racing and sports, though.
The main new ones at launch itself is Rune Factory if you like Sims / RPGs and Deltarune if you liked Undertale (plus all the ports and remasters if there's any you haven't played.

More new games will be announced/released later so it might be worth waiting to see what else comes before picking up a Switch 2 (that's my plan).

I'm picking it up no matter what, just curious as to what software, if any, I'd want out the gate. Daughter is excited and I know, at least within the first year, price isn't going to come down any - might as well just get it. Will probably end up going with Donkey Kong unless I'm deterred for some reason - was hoping Prime 4 would be relatively close to launch also..?

Prime 4 will be August at the earliest, as it seems like Nintendo will do 1 game per month like they did with Switch.

I imagine there will be a June Direct where we get an actual date for Prime 4.

Great news, one less troll poisoning the well.

Sigh. I mean if I can't snag a retail and the Nintendo method happens I will be happy. But it would feel way more like customer appreciation if they did it before the retail ones went out.
Actually, this is better IMO. A lot of people that qualify will get their pre-orders through traditional channels. Meaning the individuals who missed on retail pre-orders will be selected based on if they qualify through gameplay time/online.

i.e. That pool/group will be smaller after retail pre-orders.
