Getting all the accessories that I can with the systems I can snag at launch. I think those will be harder to get* than the system.
I'm debating on it. Pro controller is 100%. I'll never use the camera & I understand 3rd parties can be used anyway.

Joycons are the wild card. My OG's on Switch from 17 took 5 years to get drift. If Joycon 2's get scarce it'd suck to be stuck on docked mode but $95......

Debating to pick up at least TOTK Switch 2 edition since it's all on cart. It & BOTW may be very hard to find later on.

As a collector, very tempted to get TotK and BotW due to scarcity later on. Just look at the Mario 3D collection, now hard to find. I snagged 2 copies, one left unopened!

I have kids who will use it together.

I'm pretty sure the Switch 1 joy-cons will still be usable with the Switch 2 when it's docked or in tabletop mode. You just can't attach them to the console. So unless your kids are picky about haptics or the size of their controllers, they should be fine.

Yea you're right. I may need tograb a pair.

They have completely priced out their core base consisting of families. Going to be interesting to see if they can replicate the success of the switch and Wii this time around.

Most families will probably adjust one way or another. Maybe instead of buying four Switches for the household, they buy two Switch 2s and family members share them more?

That's one option among a few.

So 1 win and lots of losses. It's still losing mate.

Pretty sure most of those "losses" are also Ws or at least par.

I mean they've said & done some dumb things since reveal, but not as much as some try saying.

It's a common exaggeration that they never put their stuff on sale. Switch 1 first party stuff usually hits $42 digitally once or twice a year. They rarely if ever go below -30%. It may take several years before that starts, but it happens.

Yeah, basically. They don't do permanent price drops, but will momentarily put quite a lot on sale at strategic points, then the prices return to normal afterwards.

SIE's been doing that a lot more this gen, actually...well when they aren't doing $30 PS+ increases with nothing new added to show for it :/

Is it predictable when the sales occur or just random? I imagine right after Xmas?

Probably sporadically, to prevent people from getting too comfortable predicting when a sale occurs (and therefore planning all their purchases around a sale).

Tho I think Black Friday and Christmas sales are always predictable in terms of timing.

I wouldn't even put it past Phil to help get Switches in peoples hands to reach more gamers. Sounds like something he'd consider at least.

Would hate this, considering the guy's so obsessed with optics/looking good rather than getting results where they matter. It's why Xbox consoles are where they're at today (aka basically dead).

It'd be funny seeing remaining Xbox loyalists have a mental breakdown if he did it, though.

We will see after the tariff pause ends. Right now the console price isn't effected. If anything I was hoping Nintendo would adjust to market feedback and use this as a chance to lower some pricing (even if its only until tariffs take effect).

I feel this is what's the most ridiculous to me. 80 dollars for a game is a tough pill to swallow. MK8 Deluxe sold a ton of copies but then again it was 60 dollars and making it cost 30% more is a lot to ask especially for parents/families.

Personally I was thinking they'd make Welcome Tour a free pack-in; it being a $10 demo is still kind of ridiculous. Astro's Playroom offered more and was free.

I don't think the price for MK World is going to affect it much. It's an extremely popular IP, and if people really want, they can wait for a sale. Or pick up a bundle which has the game cheaper than if you bought the console & game separately.

Like I 100% doubt a game like Kirby Airiders can get away with $80 or even $70 pricing, but MK World definitely can. That's why they've priced it that way. Don't really "like" the decision, but I get why they did it from a business POV.

Fuck Trump. Why you people post images of a man who is ruining the global economy is beyond me. He is a disgusting piece of trash.

No one's doing it out of respect. At this point, it's comedy.

I have been saying this for a while. Nintendo doesn't have the energy right now to replicate the success of the Switch 1. It's just not gonna happen.

So weird hearing you of all people complain about a ps plus price hike as if it's some affront against humanity but now "understand the business decision of pricing Mario kart as the highest launch price of all time for a game"

I'm not buying anything for $80. I'll wait 3 years for Zelda to get their usual 30% off they do once a year. Not buying any indies or 3rd party games on this thing either. Just Nintendo 1st party, $70 or below. Barely going to use this thing.

I'll get the bottom tier of NSO only for Splatoon 4.
Relax, bro. Just get the $499 version and MK is only $50. And no other new games are $80 other than standalone MK, unless you're buying TotK or BotW from scratch (why would you? Just buy a game voucher and do it that way).

wait long enough and you can get games and Switch 2 plus a pro controller for $150 on craigslist.

Yep. This is what I thought, though it would be nice to see official confirmation.

There is confirmation on Nintendo's webpage:
You can continue using your existing controllers.

Nintendo Switch 2 comes with a pair of Joy-Con 2 controllers in the box, and it's also compatible with Nintendo Switch controllers such as the Nintendo Switch Pro Controller and Joy-Con*.

*Nintendo Switch controllers can be used wirelessly and are also compatible with Nintendo Switch 2 exclusive games, but cannot be used if the games requires features unique to Joy-Con 2, such as mouse controls.

You cannot exit sleep mode on Nintendo Switch 2 using the HOME Button on Nintendo Switch controllers such as Joy-Con and Nintendo Switch Pro Controller.

On controllers without a C Button, you can start GameChat by selecting the option from the HOME Menu.

So yeah. I've pre-ordered two NS2 + MKW bundles, two Pro controllers, two memory cards, regular camera and the piranha plant camera because I laughed hard when I saw it, two carrying cases and it cost me around $2250 😆

That's a lot. Nice haul if you have the fun money though.

I guess we'll see if that's true when next gen consoles hit the market in a few years. The console market is pretty stagnant right now, if not contracting. I don't think we'll see much growth with $500 Switch 2's and $800 PlayStations.
My plan is to buy the switch 2, but not get any other consoles anymore. PlayStation 5 is the last PlayStation I'll buy. Everything comes to PC now and I don't have to pay to play online with it, either.

Switch 2 costs $780 here. Pro controller is $140. Mario Kart World is $125 so $80 is cheap 😄

Edit: Switch 2 MKW bundle is $780. Standard is $700 so the bundled Mario Kart World costs me.. *drumroll* $80
