HBO Original | The Last of Us | Part II OT | You Can't Stop This

You guys complained tlou2 is woke?
lol it's nothing compared to this. 0 taste. I AM A DAD LOLOL PRIDE FLAGS LET ME SHOVE MY HAND DOWN YOUR PANTS.

Seriously. I was watching this with my wife and we got weirded out. It was no time and place for a vag attack by infected.

We should all be thankful for The Last of Us. It changed the way sophisticated people look at gamers. Before, I was just a nerd. But thanks to Neil, moustached people in Brooklyn gastropubs want to have conversations with me.

lmao

Show Dina is way hotter than game Dina, sheesh.

So anyway, only 7 episodes for season 2? So we're not even gonna get the game's ending in this season?

Really though, this whole nonsense of her being pregnant by Jesse, and Ellie calling herself "dad" and Jesse not even knowing yet.....it's just so fucking stupid, so tiresome tbh.

The pride flags happened in game actually. The ad line i actually started laughing. If Dina had reacted differently the delivery could've been good. But the fact she was all serious made the scene bad as hell lmao. Like they actually believed it all.

The game's ending? You will get half of the game this season. Episode 6 is apparently flashback(s), the museum, the spaceship thing, etc, while next season is Abby's part.

Why are ellie and dina so damn happy? I feel like the actors could do the characters justice but the writing and direction of them haven't been good. And the I'm gonna be a dad line.. ellie would never say that and sound like a 10 year old playing house. Cringe.

80% of the episode was good, but the ending was dumb af.

A lot of the changes they made is making the story worse than the actual video game.

- No Jordan
- Ellie getting captured by the WLF
- Dina's pregnancy reveal
- Ellie saving Dina and killing Jordan

Ellie was dead set on revenge during the first two days, and they're making this more into a love story between Dina and Ellie.

I didn't play the game myself, but I did watch a playthrough back then. This stuff actually just got ignored, doesn't happen later? Because wtf.

Yeah agreed, she definitely seems way more soft, nowhere near as revenge driven as game.

I rarely laugh due to cringe when watching a serious TV show, but this scene has ruined me

Was watching with my gf, and when this scene happened I laughed out loud

The expression of a killer

I watched the latest episode last night. I fast forwarded over half this crap. If you think this was good something is wrong with you. Right after this shit I watched episode 3 of The Rehearsal. Now that was good, weird, funny, bizarre, creative, etc. Much better show. Too bad it doesn't get 10% of the attention this trash gets.

Jesus, lmfao.

So 2027 we get the rest? Or will they milk this into four seasons?
That was the original plan. But there were hints that there might be a season 4. Though I can't see how it will work. Given how fast they breeze through the action, there wouldn't be enough story left to tell.

I keep seeing comments about ellie fingering Dina after having clicker gunk on her and I'm so glad I didn't watch this season.

The show is what critics of the series think the game is about. How did it go from having Nick offerman portray a great gay character to whatever this is?

Ya'll are being silly. Everyone makes funny looking faces if you pause at every instance. Just go watch a youtube video and pause during a random timestamp of someone talking normally.

At this point I hope the season 2 finale is the natural cut-off half way point from the game and Season 3 focuses primarily on Abby.

I think this was the best episode of the season so far.

The fingering scene is dumb given the context. There is a time and place for sex, and whatever is going on emotionally w/ Ellie and Dina rn are not it. It's actually kind of gross given Ellie was just bitten by an infected. It's also a very minor scene. And aside from that, I think the other changes were pretty good. I think it makes sense to hype up Jeffrey Wright as a bigger villain than he was in the game.

It is hard to see Ellie as a threat. She's just too small. This is a far cry from the game version of Ellie.

This show......is not good. It really suffers from Joel's death in a way the game didn't. I know a lot of people disagree with that, but as someone who liked the the game I find the show average at best. Episode 2 was the only good episode this season so far. Bella Ramsey can't carry this show, she just can't. She's awful. Jeffrey Wright outdid her in every possible way in the cold open. Dina is better in every scene than Bella. What a terrible casting choice for this season.

I'd rather watch the show from Tommy's perspective, although who knows what is going on with him since we have no indication he went ahead of Ellie like he did in the game.

This show ain't it. I'll watch the rest because I'm a glutton for punishment, but not a fan.

This image is fucking hilarious. I think I'm tapping out on this show. Season 1 was pretty good tho.

I was surprised how well the game pulled off Ellie's transformation into a killer. I don't know how they expected Bella to do that. Kaitlyn Dever would have actually been a perfect Ellie. Abby is another one totally different for me. In the game her stature was obviously a huge design choice for the character. The only reason I could think to rewrite it is how ridiculous game-Abby and Bella Ramsey scenes would look on camera. Kaitlyn's acting is great, mini-Abby is just naturally less menacing. We will see. She's the only good thing left in the show.

As someone who loved the 1st season, I still can't believe how bad that episode was. I hated the 2nd game, partly due to the pacing issues, so I was really optimistic that they'd improve the story but they've somehow made it worse.

It's like reliving the disappointment all over again. Dreading the shit with Lev and Abbie etc.

Writers should have been smart enough to give Jesse and Tommy more screen time.

Dina is just a boring as Ellie but seems to get a pass because her actor's hot.

She is not a frontrunner. I thought the show might sustain a second season, but this has already turned into Walking Dead season 5.

There is nothing left to carry this show.

There is a bunch of game combat filling in this void after Joel's death, that can't be transferred over to a show.

Killing Joel was a bad idea in the TV show version. But if they didn't, it would diverge wildly from the game and then people might also be annoyed. Couple that with a super annoying Bella Ramsey and people are like why are we even watching anymore?

I really love this show but as many said before , my problem with this season is Ellie.

Not because i dont think Bella Remsey is a bad actress because she isnt but because she´s still playing Ellie from Season 1 (1st game).

Ellie in the 2nd game is a rage/revenge driven character and so far (besides the hallway scene after the conversation with the therapist) i´ve not seen this ellie and that is really ruin the show for me.

I didn't play the game myself, but I did watch a playthrough back then. This stuff actually just got ignored, doesn't happen later? Because wtf.

I can't find the post, but someone in the last couple of pages pointed out that Ellie in the game was far more bitter after reaching Seattle and that was a great observation. There were almost no romantic scenes between Dina and Ellie in Seattle, and she was pretty pissed off at Dina for being pregnant and didn't hide it. Also, I'm playing this game right now for the plat and Ellie is convinced that Dina and Jesse will get together at some point to have their baby, and this is on Seattle Day 3, right before Jesse gets shot. There's no universe in which Ellie says "I'm gonna be a dad" to Dina at this point in the story.

Also there were a few LGBT flags only in one small area in the game, defiantly no HUGE graffiti saying PRIDE anywhere.

If they didnt kill Joel it would be nonsensical since its based on a game. What others said already, its not Joel being gone the problem, its Bella's terrible acting alone cant carry this show. She doesnt looks determined or resentful. She looks jolly like some stupid kid in a candy store. Its turning into a lesbian love story which was never a big part of the game till the end. There was love and care but no "im gonna be a dad" or assuming the boyfriend just made the kid but it automatically means the two girls would live together and raise the baby. This was pure pandering to the vocal minority for no absolute reason.

Because they were all romantic in Jackson...which didn't happen here. Ellie will probably change by next episode which will contrast with the flashback episode and then it will pak with the season finale where she's probably about to kill a pregnant woman. I can't imagine the TV audience to find out about that alongside Ellie. The game shows you she's pregnant before that scene so it will be interesting to see.

This should have been a mini series at most. It's also an indication that just because for awhile the game trasferred over to a show format fairly decently, that doesn't mean the sequel was going to as well.

What exactly is wrong with my post? I said there was a few flags and no PRIDE GRAFFITI plastered all over a building. And it was in only one small part of the town in the game just like in real life as Dupont Circle in DC is like that, not whole of DC is covered in rainbow flags. Dont twist my words to fit your narrative, I never wrote NO FLAGS anywhere.

They should of made one season out of this whole thing with more episodes than the last season and call it a day. Episode 3 was pure filler and for only 7 episodes this season, filler is not what we need. At this pace I dont even know how they will do Abby's part justice let alone have time for Santa Barbara.

As if graffiti can't last decades in a wall or on the floor. It's not like it's looking perfectly maintained lol.

I am kind of disappointed that Bella doesn't have a non binary flag painted on her face.

If Aloy can have a trans flag plastered on her face in a far future, post apocalypse, computer recreated human race then surely Ellie can take 20 minutes to show representation. The fungus can wait.

I agree with everything except the last sentence. I'm done with this trash.

I don't have an issue with the gay flag because it was in the game. It's funny because you can catch Dina stealing a book from he store.

The "I'm going to be a dad" part was just....terrible.

I think everything after the pregnancy reveal was stupid. I hope they can get the series back on track this Sunday.
