Nintendo Switch 2 |OT| Switch 2 Nintendo, because now we're playing with power

I have a preorder with mediamarkt (Belgium), since it's the only one I manged to get. They completely f'd up when i preordered the Series X there, but let's hope for the best this time. I can't wait for thursday!

For those who don't know, Costco will have the MKW bundle with 12 months NSO available on June 5th

There are no preorders for this item. Show up at your local Costco before they open if you want to try and get one

I haven't got this email, but my order has been marked as "being delivered from the local store". Walmart here does that sometimes, where I order something online, then they send a retail worker over to my house to drop said thing off at the door.

Mine is like that despite getting an order placed first night they opened. I've seen them change dates rapidly so there is some hope. It would suck if they screwed up launch day deliveries that bad.

I gotta give credit to GameStop for doing this. It's gonna be an awesome memory for a lot of families. Our store manager is really cool. I'm sure that some of this is just her own initiative. She even put out some of her own money to buy the prize for the contest a cool little Mario collectors box.

Also, for our Animal Crossing friends, I'm pretty sure you need to use the island transfer tool to carry your island from Switch to Switch 2.

Target has the worst, slowest shipping on Earth

Whenever I preorder a game from them, I never actually get it until a week later because they don't ship it until the exact release date and they use the absolute slowest possible shipping method

I hate Target except they give me a 5% discount just for existing and every bit counts so I put up with it

iirc, my ps5 target preorder did something similar. Ended up being shipped on Nov 11th and I received it on Nov 13th.

Thank Keepa for alerting me for new stock - finally managed to snatch one from Amazon.

In the end, and even if it was just a 40€ difference, I opted for the normal edition, never was a fan of Mario kart so...
Instead, I'll grab Metroid Dread, Zelda BOTW and Mario Odyssey (and dead cells from the store since it's on sale ATM).

Now, I need some accessories : Tempered glass, a TPU cover and some thumbgrips, don't need a carrying case atm and the Pro controller will also have to wait.

Now, to get them from Amazon or AliExpress...hmmm, EVERY product on Amazon is CHY-NEESE so I might as well get them from AliExpress for half the price...

That is actually pretty cool. The last memorable midnight release Ive been to were halo reach and skyrim

Halo because they went all-out for the event and skyrim because we got hit by a blizzard lol.

Agreed. I think a lot of people slept on the mario kart 8dx dlc that was dropping every few months throughout the year(s?) when they were doing that.

My friend group hosted MK sessions during their launches and I have so many memories of those nights. Good times

Well, at least the snow was thematically fitting.

My family has a bunch of memorable moments from different launches. At Halo reach midnight release my daughter and I won a Xbox 360 slim. It was fucking awesome.
 
Just got a 1:51 long voice mail from gamestop telling me about a 10pm launch. Thought that was really cool of them. At 1st I thought it was gonna be a robocall.

I ended up buying most of my switch games physical so I think this particular gamestop will get all my switch business.

I personally dont trust any online stores and I never had Nintendo Online to be eligible to pre-order from them.

I pre-orderd from my local EBgames store and it was painless.
 
For some wierd reason, the taxes were half as much ordering for Nintendo. Not quite certain what is up with that.

No one is salty in here. This is a OT for people to discuss the switch.
It is just strange to see people come in here and dump on the new console. If you don't like it do t buy it.
Of course you can come in here and tell us how bad a deal it is, but you need to be able to endure the responses. You can't call people salty if their do not share your disdain for the switch 2.
Let us be happy for the release of the switch 2 and we let you be grumpy without calling names or trying to convince people.

From what I have heard this will happen if you use the System Transfer feature. Although it appears to make sense, I don't play AC and there's a lot of bogus info out there so do your due diligence...
 
Going to park outside my Gamestop on Wednesday at around 10am (requested day off since I'll have jury duty on launch day - a good excuse to have the S2 while sitting in the juror lobby all day) so I can try to get a good spot in line and get back home quick. Going to trade in a couple of my special edition OLEDs (Splatoon and Scarlet/Violet, contemplating trading in my TotK OLED as well) and then go home until 7 or 8pm and come back to join the line and enjoy the company of other enthusiasts (made some friends in line the day of preorders). Get back home, do all the setup then sleep. Hopefully get to enjoy playing Rune Factory, Yakuza, Bravely Default and MKW while at the courthouse for the day.

If I play my cards right, gonna try to snag a system for my sister as well that day. If not, I did get a Nintendo NYC Shopping Pass for Saturday, so I'll make a day trip out of it to get her a system (and enjoy some Japanese Shabu-Shabu at my favorite spot in Manhattan before coming back home on the train)

It took well over an hour for me to get through Walmart's queue and my order is the preparing for shipping phase. Walmart's website was by far the best experience for me between BestBuy, Target, and Gamestop.

They should direct their ire at Nintendo who has decided to release a console with basically the same ui and very little "new" games. It's essentially a rehash of the Xbox series strategy except even the Xbox series had more "new" games than Nintendo. Just no first party game.

Didn't Xbox Series have Xbox One games and a single new first party game that wasn't even ready/finished? Or am I missing something
 
Just got my Walmart email, order is preparing. I placed my order April 26th at 8am, very late in that last batch that was available for a long time.

Yeah. I did my Walmart order at 5am the day after pre-orders started. It sailed right through. I totally lucked out.

I had the bundle wishlisted on the Walmart app so I could immediatley order it.
 
I know most people here dont care for this this game but very excited to Bravely remaster.

The hand drawn town gonna look gorgeous with higher resolution on big screen.

Walmart just tried to charge me and I also got a fraud detection text from my bank. I responded to let it go through and now I see the pending charge on my bank account so I think I'm good. Walmart also sent me an email saying that my order is preparing to ship.

Hopefully if it fails once they try multiple times because it's probably very common for banks to block it the first time.

When I tried to secure preorders I used a different CC on each site to insulate each attempt from flags and issues. By chance Walmart got the card I learned from experience just allows anything that doesn't usually fly and now I'm glad for it. I can use it as a payment method for PayPal international money transfers or klarna payment plans. It has plenty of credit open and they hit it with a preauth long ago.

So if Walmart gives me any kind of payment couldn't be processed bullshit I'm going to be furious. This CC pulls its pants down for anything. Charge the damn card already Walmart. Still no movement on my order. Same status as 30 days ago.

Edit: OH SHIT just got the preparing to ship, check your address email! THE TIME FOR DRINKING AND ANXIETY IS OVER

Uh yeah good point. Maybe that is why he put the word "new" in quotes.

At least Nintendo has a full on next gen game not feasible on last gen. And finished it.
 
This is the other notice they had posted. I guess this means there's going to be a midnight release batch of consoles, then a launch day batch, too? Who knows how many.

My local EBgames also doing midnight release but I'm just gonna pick up mine at launch day....I never do midnight releases.
