Why would you get the phantom edition for this. If the game is fun you'll max out XP soon enough and skins I just don't care about. Even if it fragmented the playbase some, I loved the old premium editions where you got a ton of new maps and guns instead. Would be so much better if dev resources went into more maps like in BF1, rather than clown costumes.

BF1 standard edition 9 maps + 1 free DLC map (Giant's Shadow)
Premium pass = 4 map drops with in total 21 DLC maps
31 maps in total

BF 2042 launched with 7 maps (and 6 remastered Portal maps, which was cool but also not really new maps)
Total free DLC maps = 7 (or 8 if we are feeling generous and include Stadium+ which was a remix)
Total 14 new core maps + 6 Portal maps.

It really gave new life to the game when a new DLC dropped with like 6 new maps and new weapons and I miss that part of BF.

Either way I hope they get the maps we do get right as it is so important. BF2042 felt off in this regard compared to earlier games.

This way is better imo. Everyone gets the new content and the player base sticks together. If you(not you personally) don't like MTX, which pays for the maps and content the Battle pass and skins can be easily ignored.

BreaK's stream was super laggy so I switched to BennyCentral. I'm assuming there is no Conquest in this (the event not the game)? I would have really loved to have seen some Conquest gameplay.

Also my drops just disappeared from Twitch and are nowhere to be found.

Hopefully not. I want the option of Console only crossplay.

Unless you mean for Single Player only.

There's no reason why they can't enable input based matchmaking since plenty of other games do it. It would be no worse then already having the XIM users on console.

Even something like ARMA on console has input based matchmaking that you can turn on if you enable cross play.

Yeah, cicled between like 5 or 6 streams, every single one of them were playing with assault rifles with classes that were not Assault.
Carabines will be dead on arrival if they really do go with this approach for the final game.

People will min-max the game, if a type of gun is better for solo play then people will choose that type of gun, period. They won't care about class benefits or any other nonsense.

movement is not that fast, its heavy, TTK is not low, feels perfect imo. Maps are smaller than 2042 but a lot more detailed with much better flow

I suppose they won't have to go back redoing basically all of the maps along with fixing the rest of the game after launch like the last time around
With the impression of variety so far, 9 shouldn't be a problem at all.

I dunno the urban map (Cairo?) looks amazing. The (Tajikistan?) one in the mountains looks meh/kinda bare....

I generally prefer denser urban maps...or at least maps with some structures.

Seems like only portal will have a server browser, the main game will be matchmaking only.
