Nintendo Direct announced for September 12 (6AM PT, 9AM ET, 2PM UK)

Just when you think it cant get any worse, fucking awful direct.

MP 4 release date was the only decent thing about this.

Utter, utter pish.

They should have had this Direct on 9/11 since it's such a fucking tragedy.

That was it?

Eh.. Not really the announcements I was hoping for in this one.

I even found the Mario 40th anniversary stuff underwhelming.

But hey, Metroid Prime 4 is this year at least.

Switch 2 is getting day and date RE game, this bodes well for other new releases.

I think it was totally ok direct, ppl over reacting. And considering the reactions to Playstation and Xbox presentations, we've eaten good and we are all full and nothing surprised us.

Fire Emblem looks cool, way better art direction than engage.
Hopefully it's not a higschool simulator like Three Houses though.

Other than that, shit direct and still zero interest in picking up a Switch 2.

Leave it to Nintendo to have direct for the 40 years of Mario without even the announcement of a new Mario game... It's not like they got blindsided by it..

Yeah, that was so far below Nintendo's usual September directs in quality. Really poor showing. It was endless ports. Fire Emblem was really the only thing of any note for me.

Exactly what I was thinking, I was expecting a new Mario game, instead left with regurgitated Mario games instead.

What exactly were you expecting?
Not expecting, but hoping for (and not thinking this is like super unrealistic or too much)

a Mario 64 successor
a new Wave Race
a new F-Zero
a new Star Fox game that's not shit (shooter or adventure game)
a new 1080 Snowboarding
a new IP
...

really anything besides the usual FE, Zelda, Mario, Pokemon treadmill we're on for how long now?

Disappointed that there is no new Monolith Soft game.

But at least I got new Fire Emblem, Yoshi and DQVII Remake look forward to.

Fire Emblem looks like a Three Houses sequel of sorts. Therefore not Shadows of Valentia quality. Big sad. The focus on the 3 different Lords probably means a retread of 3 routes. Not good.

I can only take so much cartoonslop....

I think that is the last direct I am watching. No reason to buy a Switch 2 anytime soon.

Yeah, they wanna sell you DK Bananza/ DLC if you don't have that yet, let that sell this holiday, and sell you Galaxy 1 + 2. That's your Mario this year til Wonder Switch 2 in Spring. And yeah, I mean does anyone here not think Galaxy 3 is their big 2026 holiday title? Has to be. Especially with the movie.

right so as I was saying didn't get what I was hoping for, mostly a new monoliftsoft or enhanced xenoblades for switch 2.

But galaxy 2 alone makes it a good direct.

New Yoshi is good, DLC for bananza is good...

A date for prime 4 is good but bike stuff looked gimmicky in an open area. Sometimes it's important to remember that everyone from when retro made prime is gone. No guarantees this will be a game of that caliber even after 17 year development time.

That Fire Emblem at the end certainly looked good too.

Really disappointed there were no switch 2 updates for any of the Xenoblade games, cause they're all fucking ugly on the switch 2 whereas they looked ok on the switch.

Xenoblade X is especially a head scratcher since it came out so close to the switch 2
