PS5 version of Forza Horizon 6 confirmed "post-launch"

Looks like the Forza Horizon 6 project was started with the intention of it being exclusive to Xbox, then the PS project expansion happened later on.
Nah, pretty sure timed exclusive was always the intention in the hope that people also buy an xbox having pushed FH5 on them already.

Even with Gamepass, I have still purchased games outright on Steam due to how shit the app is.

I wouldn't be surprised if most others have done the same thing.

you don't even have to use the app after you downloaded a game through it.

so not sure why you'd do that.

download the game, make a desktop shortcut, start the game that way.

Plenty of games I've used via the app have had either restrictions that the Steam versions do not, or issues like worse frame pacing and bugs. The only ones I can think of that are actually better are The Evil Within and Tomb Raider Definive Edition.

I doubt that will be the case for a Forza Horizon title.

In the Windows Store? :messenger_tears_of_joy: :messenger_tears_of_joy: :messenger_tears_of_joy: :messenger_tears_of_joy:

I'm amazed at how guys lie on the internet to boast "victory"

Yes the windows store version then played through the Xbox app, it runs much better than on out of date Steam. I will be playing it at least 120fps 8k on my RTX 5060 8GB, and on my ROG ALLY XBOX X 1080p 60fps max settings handheld or docked 4k 60fps 💪🟢 .

Forza Horizon 3 was fine, so it probably will be all good. That said, I'll still grab on Steam. A stable platform I know will be around for a long time. Plus I'm more than happy to pay for a game I like. I certainly wouldn't touch the Xbox app for a game I'm paying for when Steam exists.

Wow, you really have to believe that everyone is an idiot.

I mean this is the exact same device family that almost doubled its MSRP and is getting delisted at major retailers worldwide.

Playing timed exclusives to push a console that is currently unfindable and unaffordable is absolute suicide IMHO, which is why I think it's a dev pipeline thing, them announcing the PS5 port is happening from the get-go supports that too.

MS isn't doing a COD Black Ops 7 hardware bundle and have cut production + raised prices significantly on base hardware but they're delaying a PS5 release of the new entry of a franchise - that they've recently made multiplatform - to boost hardware sales?

All about GamePass still, this will sell millions on Playstation regardless how long after it releases.

Headline: Forza Horizon 6 will come to PlayStation 5 after some timed exclusivity!

Gamers: argue about sales as if they stand to profit from them.

Yes. People who played FH5 may buy other for larger profit hardware in small numbers to play FH6. Why is that farfetched? It's not going to sell 10s of millions but making the hardware more profitable doesn't work against that idea.

Suicide for what, FH6? FH5 sold well despite the late release. This makes the hardware less dead even if it now sells for a larger profit and still small numbers. Fair point about the PS5 port being announced already but a lot of MS timed exclusives seem to do that now. I'd imagine the work done on FH5 to already bring it over would make this delay being late development changes less likely but who knows, it's possible.

Yeah, even more reason for them to delay on hardware that doesn't push gamepass so that people buy other hardware that does.

Project started at least 3-4 years ago, back then MS wasn't doing multiplatform publishing at scale yet (Starfield/Redfall flops didn't happen yet, and ABK didn't close yet).

It's the exact same situation as Indiana Jones, what will probably be the definitive sign is how long FH6 stays exclusive, if it's less than 1 year then it's highly likely to be what I said.

Not hard for various outlets to find these number. Quick AI result...

Also try to notice the part where I said "around". Effectively give or take a couple of million as we can't be 100%. Whatever the actual number is, it is around that, and it shows the difference in how big GT still is compared to Forza. FMS8 was an absolute dud. Not even worth adding that to their sales.
I see that AI has picked up Matt's bullshit claims that he corrected too late.

Wow this thread is garbage lmao. Isn't it a good thing it's coming to more platforms? Yet it's just a cluster fuck of console wars

It will likely be 3-6 months and still possibly a timed exclusive. It depends when they see the bump of signups for gamepass slow down and then they will try and monetise it elsewhere. It wasn't their plan 3-4 years ago but if they can get FH5 ported and released in that short timeframe when they decided to go multiplatform there is little reason that they couldn't get a concurrent multiplatform release on the game that hasn't finished yet and uses the same engine. They want it timed I believe. I've even said this in multiple threads before when people were saying they want day 1 FH6. Timed exclusive is the logical thing to do for them.

lmao the shit console gamers tell themselves to help them feel better :messenger_grinning_squinting:
I have the luxury of playing on any platform that suits me my friend however…

Check the borderlands 4 thread.

Done fuck all but moan and tweak and moan about crashes for 2 weeks.

Last page there's a helpful .ini edit post to get some setting back.

Pretty sure it's just how the cookie crumbles for development pipeline in light of a sudden multiplat U-turn.

Playground is not familiar with PS5 (nor have the devkits too methinks) and MS (and rightly so) sees no reason to change Xbox/PC-only pipeline mid-dev and add yet another platform, API layers and hardware to the already boiling kettle. PG is kinda buried under Fable already so their resources are spread quite thin. It's cheaper, easier and more efficent to port an already finished Xbox/PC game to PS5, all things considered.

Possibly, but Playground and Turn 10 did the PS5 port of FH5 with Panic Button already so they probably have devkits. Keep in mind that they may be pushing new hardware marketing soon too so you're likely to see it as part of that marketing. The reason isn't clear but if a journalist asks we may get some clarification later on. I always expected a timed exclusive for the sequel to this franchise myself because it makes sense. Especially if they're going to be pushing new hardware at around the same time or soon after. They will monetise it on PS but they will 100% try to push their ecosystem with it even if it is for a short while.

PS5 port of FH5 with Panic Button
There you have it. PS5 port was done not with but 100% by Panic Button in the first place. They are essentially the porting house with devkits. Per their website:
After we brought Forza Horizon 4 to the Xbox Series X|S launch, Microsoft entrusted Panic Button with the task of bringing the latest installment in the acclaimed Forza Horizon franchise to another platform: the PlayStation 5. Leveraging our prior experience, we stepped up to the monumental challenge of migrating the proprietary Horizon technology to a non-Microsoft console. Over the course of more than a year, we worked closely with both Turn 10 and Playground Games to ensure that this latest version lived up to the quality and spirit of the Forza brand.
I guess same goes for FH6, it's just easier to offload port to someone like PB after the game is finished.

Warrior? Hardly. Grow up. Just stating a fact. That single game is literally a few million off the entire Horizon/Motorsport sales combined. That not "Tales from your arse", at all. Look it up.

Entire Forza is around 21 million. GT7 is 15-16.

Yet Horizon makes 4 times the revenue somehow?

One title has close to 50 million players, and makes 5 times more money than the next 5 racing games alone and that includes GT. Stop trying to downplay Horizons success.

You are basing the revenue off what someone said on their linkdin. You know the famous corporate job seeking platform where people like to exaggerate their achievements?

ALso, players != Sales

More people play Horizon, it's okay it won't affect your time with GT7.

Nearly 50 million players is impressive, no matter how you want to spin it.

Maybe you should take your own advice.

Unless you believe players == sales.

Also, do give a source on the revenue claim besides some guy's linkedin. Still waiting on that

Disappointing, but I'll just move my PC to the tv when the time comes (part of the reason I have a ITX build anyway).

9800x3D and a 9070 XT SFF build. I don't even use my 4090 at the minute. Just pure comfy couch. Fsr4 is pretty damn awesome on space marine 2 and borderlands 4. I really don't need my consoles anymore.

Why do you keep talking about sales when I haven't mentioned sales once? Or just stuck in the mindset of it wouldn't succeed without gamepass?

A 4 year old game has now done 3 million+ just this year on PS5 alone to be the number 1 title sold on PlayStation so far this year. If this doesn't show it's a great game I don't know what does.

I wish they would release FH5 day and date, truely believe it would hit 10 million on PS5.
