As a PC gamer, most of the PlayStation games I've played in recent years have been graphically impressive, if not always technically impressive. Ghost of Tsushima was definitely the least technically impressive of all of them though. It looked very dated on PC when it came out. Combine that with the dull open world and the wet noodle main character - it's the only PS game I didn't bother finishing.

A new game made by Gamefreaks' interns "Beast of reincarnation" with lower budgets than my breakfast looks a lot better than Yotei.

Because ir ran like shit and had a lot of problems at launch. Did they fix it? Did you watch the DF video about it?

I saw plenty of people complain about Naoe....and she's cute which is exactly my point. If Atsu was hot, it would make more sense that her enemy would want to bang her rather than kill her. Look at Yuna in the last game. Atsu is better looking and no one complained about her back then. GoT had zero good looking females. It's just that everyone is so sensitive to it nowadays. It's embarrassing.

Ghost of Yotei doesn't look as good as AC but it's apparently a better game. It's all that matters.

Alot of stuff here show shadows as having better visuals. But anytime i see some gameplay from yotei and tsushima for that matter they just look better. Funny how that works.

It does... But I've seen indie games made with less money and smaller teams with better looking rock textures and water...

Yotei is basically ps3 level in those (or worse) .

Neither look particularly impressive, RDR2 is overall better looking than both and it came out 7 years ago.

I kind of agree, which tends to show that the biggest bottleneck of modern visuals is more about the efforts/investments of a studio rather than pure computing power.

Computing power definitely helps, but very, very few studio will actually be able to fully tap into the potential of modern gaming systems.

No contest. AC Shadows is one of the best looking games ever, and in some ways even number one. The problem with GoY is that after 5 years and being a ps5 exclusive it barely looks better than GoT. Which doesn't mean it looks bad, as GoT was IMO one of the best looking games lastgen, but it's disappointing because you would ecpect a lot more.

They are inherently not the same engine. Your post suggests Outlaws runs on the AC engine, which is factually untrue.

Yeah I suppose but isn't Shadows a big budget game? Recently got an OLED for the first time (I know it's nothing new but my old Sony LED lasted 9 years) so I'm replaying a few older games and TLOU2 still looks superb, the lighting outside is not great now but indoor and everything else is still high level. Sony First party just isn't producing like they used too on a tech level.

There's literally nothing preventing them from doing a Spiderman/Miles Morales/Spiderman 2 situation. The fact that Yotei exists doesn't preclude the existence of a straight up Tsushima sequel or option for one in the future.

Shadows looks better but taking Tsushima into account I already know Yotei plays much better and most likely has the better story as well.

Better story maybe (strong maybe, both are the same revenge story as far as I can tell), but Tsushi definitely doesn't play better in any area other than straight up combat. Yotei seems to be more of the same (cutting shitty bamboo and hot springs side quests).

The shot comparison is between standing horse of AC Shadows vs Running horse in GoY. Misleading I would say,

AC Shadows looks great on a screenshot or snippets here and there, but when you play it for 60-70 hours you realize its a hot copy/paste mess. There is nothing graphically interesting in that game.

But Yotei still looks better than Tsushima, in pretty much every way, may not be a huge leap but the differences are there, look at the scorched grass after being lit on fire, grass gets cut up, arrows actually remain stuck to trees now, you can cut down bamboo etc. its the little things but its those on top of the amazing art direction that they already had/have. Look at the opening sequence of both Tsushima (well, not quite opening, but when you take control of the horse) and Yotei, you just don't get the same effect in Shadows. Shadows is great but both teams had a different vision when making their respective games so then its down to preference and I prefer the look of Tsushima over Shadows never mind Yotei.
