I think this game is one of the fastest I've ever refunded on steam. I'm sorry but combat just feels like utter SHIT. Especially when comparing to Elden Ring / Lies of P and hell even Wukong had better combat feel.

It's more like older action combat games where you have to unlock combos and skills, with very basic movesets at the start. I had the same feeling in the beginning but pushed through it. Definitely gets way better if you stick with it a bit.

I just finished and platinumed Lies of P with its great DLC and search for a new game like this.
I played all Fromsoft Soulsborn games and really like them all but (dont hit me) Sekiro.
I tryed Lords of the Fallen 2.0 and its not really my cup of tea.
Would be Wuchang a game for me?
I have a PS5, Switch 2, Gaming PC

Ive enjoyed this more than Lies of P and even Dark Souls 3 which ive liked more than most other games in the genre, also wasnt a big fan of Lords of the Fallen.
There are some really annoying status effects here, 2 areas with high enviroment hazard, rest spots can be quite sparse in some areas (level design is fantastic tho) and the final map is quite a chore imo, but overall its one of the best soulslikes imo.

I would advise against it. It's far worse than Lords of the Fallen 2.0 aside from maybe weapon impact which feels better in Wuchang. But other than that, it's a mediocre slop, but if you have nothing else to play, go 4 it.

Basically the chinese government most likely got triggered by the fact that you can kill some historical figures in the game aka main story bosses so they "fixed" it by you not actually killing them which makes no sense story wise if u rly care about the games obtuse story anyway.

The censorship patch against a story outcome is nothing of relevance to me. The story isn't that important in any soulslike and the arbitrary outcome after a boss battle in the cutscene isn't a big deal.

The censorship ruins chapter 4 and conflicts with the rules of the world and the themes of the story. That's worse than some covered cleavage or a bit of gore.
