$30? First they kill xbox now they will kill Gamepass as well.

PC players can buy most titles off key sites for around that amount and "own" their games.

Was nice while it lasted.

Careful now, adamsapple adamsapple is about to tell us how those games don't count becaause are not the latest and greatest from the Xbox gamepass lineup.

That's equivalent to 4 $80 games…

Honestly not that bad for MS when you consider the spending habits of hardcore users.
When you buy the 80 dollar games you own them and can resell them.

So there was a thread not long ago that showed the average hobbyist spend per year per country and I think the US was pretty low, so I think many subsist on sales and don't buy games brand new usually. I think I could take 320 dollars per year as a software budget and do pretty good IF I knew up front that there was a budget, I would only buy bargain or lower priced used games. With hardware out of the picture, and with reselling, I think I could do alright over the year.

All according to plan, internally they gave up on Gamepass when it became clear that even 50m subscribers were not happening, let alone the 100m they were dreaming in 2019/2020, so the only option now is to try to make it viable as it is by increasing prices and either removing day one games or shifting them to the most expensive tiers only.

Next time I see you getting exited about "classics" getting added to gamepass I'll remind you of this exchange.

Old games are only good when you have to rent them am I right?

Yes, please do.

But make sure it's in the context of me telling them that it's better versus day 1 releases for the accurate context.

Haha they've also nerfed Rewards quite substantially in the past 1.5-2 months. Gone are the 3 month Ultimate, the 3 month PC Pass, what remains is quite expensive after the last point hike, and I just received an update to the Xbox app so I will see how much 🫰🏻 Phil wants from me and how nothing they will be getting from me after GPU expires on March'26

If they are games you actually want to play then yes they are better than $30 a month/$360 per year gamepass "day one" releases.

At some point you guys will understand this.

When your in last place, increasing the prices of everything you sell won't help your cause, only people on the top can do that, I almost wonder if they are doing this on purpose to help speed up the death of xbox

Maybe it's something like Microsoft told the Xbox team that they needed a certain amount of profit over the next few years or they were shutting down Xbox so they are doing all these price increases in hope to meet Microsoft targets

Just when you think Sony and Nintendo are greedy bastards these fuckletd at MS just come and somehow manage to win the top shit award.

I really fucking hope they start to lose money and badly.

Well done Sony and Nintendo for kicking these fuckers out of the console competition.

Just in perfect timing to hate MS even more with the next major release of call of duty around the corner.

Ger fucked. that's 42$ Canadian plus tax. Imagine paying close to 50$ CAD a month to MS lolol

Microsoft is trying to recoup the money loss from console sales obviously. I think a $10.00 hike was more likely. They should have added the full fat Ubisoft + for that price at least.

I'm in the fence as I already own Fortnite crew and. Ubisoft + so maybe I cancel they both and reduce my spending.

Honestly I'm more concerned with how the new cloud resolutions work

The value prop can only get worse and worse over time because costs will inevitably rise to maintain the same volume and quality of content while there will be the same number of hours to play in a month.

Literally no one is arguing that old games aren't fun. Hell, I play more old games than new.

The whole point I'm raising is that Miku's argument was about the number/profile of new releases in the month of October, which is very true, especially for fans of games like that (WRPG's and hack and slashers etc).
