The only acceptable style…
That's false. They use the same modified engine.fun fact,
BOTW and TOTK don't use the same engine

It sure as heck wasn't the low effort cartoony look BOTW and ToTK are going for.Zelda has never been realistic. If you think Twilight Princess NPCs are realistic there's probably a huge issue with your town's water supply.
I mean it was cartoony, just darker. It sure as heck wasn't the low effort cartoony look BOTW and ToTK are going for.
Nice cherry picked shots.I mean it was cartoony, just darker.
Look at this motherfucker:

It's the typical goofy Zelda side character, just without cell shading.
Wind Waker is stuck at 30fps. It definitely needs a new release.Instead of remaking old games, I want them to make new shit instead.
That being said, if they re-release Wind Waker on Switch 2, I am gonna buy that shit instantly.
It's the same core engine upgraded basically.are you sure? I remember people snooping through the game files when it leaked and said it's a different engine
I was mainly thinking the exact same game with new skins. If the game was so amazing (which we both agree that it is) then the same game with new graphics would still be amazing wouldn't it? i'm not really suggesting the base game gets changed up, but updated visuals.OoT was perfection so NO![]()
Mainly better graphics. The atmosphere would be incredible. I'd love to replay through the dungeons and face all of the bosses with updated visuals. But what would be the advantage of doing this in the BotW engine?
I'm still not sure we even have this level of graphics in modern games. The only acceptable style…

No need for a remake, you can play the original. Make a new Zelda game.I can't believe they haven't done a proper reimagining of OOT. The remake of the 3DS probably saved that device from commercial failure.
I don't think the BOTW engine without upgrades would do it justice though. I'd want it super detailed like the Wii U tech demo that had Twilight Princess graphics.
If they ever remake OoT I'd rather have it be done in the style of the WiiU tech demo than BoTW
Indeed, because it's just an expansion pack.Play Tears of the Kingdom instead, it's a very similar game but much better.

As has been mentioned already in this thread, Wind Waker at 4K, 120 FPS with improved lighting and QoL improvements would be welcomed.
Well, Sony can remake a one generation game to their new system; the highest rated game of all-time might be a good blueprint for the next 30 years. Good bones. No need for a remake, you can play the original. Make a new Zelda game.
The main point of the BotW/TotK engine imo is the physics/chemistry system, which OOT wouldn't need anyway. The only reason to go for that would be because they have loads of assets the can copy and paste.
I'd rather see them use/replicate whatever engine they used for the WiiU demo. Maybe tweak it a bit to make it look more like OOT/cartoony and less like Twilight Princess/gloomy.

Is BOTW worth playing? Heard it's open world slop
I know this is an older post, but it just reminded me how much I HATED Midna. The most obnoxious companion by far, and her pedo-bait catgirl "thousand year old dragon" design was utterly offputting. It still has darker aspects like the bloodmoon, the corrupted dragon or the gloomhands but I agree they have to go back to the TP world. It's such an underutilized world while before BotW it was the most successful entry in the franchise and it has one of the most popular characters in the series with Midna. There's like half a dozen of games using the TWW artstyle and now 4 games using the BotW artstyle, it's time to go back to TP. Also bring back the Twilis, coolest race.
