Do you use the PS5 system level "Power Save" feature?

Or is it just one of Phil's balls in my throat?
Just a very basic academic poll. Sony introduced a power save feature which cuts the wattage for both PS5 and Pro to about half at the expense of games either looking or running at lower metrics.

Is anyone here using this feature for average gaming?

Unless there's games that run perfectly fine in the power saver mode (backwards compatible games or simple Indie titles) why would we?

Even then, you're probably saving pennies and making so little environmental impact for it to be worth the trouble.

I haven't tried it yet, but I don't see the point why I will use it. We have efficient electricity at home and with extra help from solar power.

No, want to play my games on 60fps with the best IQ as possible. Maybe could try Days Gone but don't think so. Not interested in 30fps or low res.

Even if you wanted to, games only started to support it less than two weeks ago. There are less than 10 titles that currently do.
Pointless poll.

No but I do shut my consoles down when I am not using them most of the time. The exception is if I know I am going to be using the Portal. Then I will keep one of them on sleep mode.

I could see EU trying to mandate this sort of stuff during high energy usage hours.

I mean French politicians have been going hardcore against AC (it makes you sick apparently, don't tell FL or TX). And they are working on mandates for temperature settings and usage allowances.

It's not a huge step to mandate PC or Console power saving settings.

my bet is that at most 1%, and more realistically about 0.1% of people will use this.

saving 2€ a year on exchange for halving your performance is not really a useful option.
this is just a secondary use for the upcoming PS Handheld modes

Oh you mean the "make the game worse" button? No no.. why on earth would anyone press that button

Reminds me of an interview I read with Yu Suzuki, creator of Shenmue and Virtua Fighter. He said he had a button under his desk that if you pressed it, the graphics on the game he was working on turned to shit. He used it every time his boss came in to see how development went along, because when his boss saw how terrible the game looked, Suzuki and his team would get more time and money to finish the game like they envisioned it, instead of being rushed.

My PS5 is saving so much power. I haven't turned it on in months.
