Day and date PC but exclusive to PS launcher for 6-12 months is my guess.Less PS console exclusives me thinks.
Assuming this is legit. I have my doubts since this has a high probability of being a waste of time and money.

I said just such a thing.
Now dont shit your pants when Nintendo does it.
I used to love MiniDisk (and their eReaders) and had a few different ones, but hated Sony Software. Shouldn't have get rid of them, those devices were really fun.
But yeah, on software side Sony has always been terrible me and they are sure to fail.

Sad but true.A ton of PC gamers lost their shit when Arrowhead attempted to implement that.

alot of people also mix up that "cross-save" existed too which was just a proto flim-flammy "cross-buy" before platform and store ecosystem differences took off. Gotta put those saves somewhere!Yup. It doesn't mean cross-buy with PC, it can be cross-buy between Sony's own platforms. Plus the source is iffy to say the least.
Maybe like BF6 u get only matched vs ppl who play on console/with controlers/not hacking, on pc hacking/autoboting is not uncommon. Why would I want a PS6 version of the game?
I read some interesting comments from folks who worked in Sony that the issue has always been that software dev was always treated as second tier. Hardware engineers got all the resources and support while software side was whatever was left. That's always been the way with all Sony products outside of their consoles.
Sensational hardware that's always let down by the software experience. It still rings true today with their headphones. Skullcandy's headphone companion app is miles ahead of the sound connect app from Sony.
Sony is just not good with PC software. That goes back decades. I still remember their crappy ebook an mini disk sync software back in the day, lol.
It's going to be interesting to see what they do. I still don't think they will do Day 1 access on PC.
This is a nothing burger. Just cross buy feature between PS4, PS5 and PS6. Sony is not opening a PC store.
It's funny because your hardware is only as good as the software running it. Amazing hardware will tank with shitty software. Amazing software can uplift even crappy hardware.I read some interesting comments from folks who worked in Sony that the issue has always been that software dev was always treated as second tier. So from the 90s they just kept going that way basically.
Because it's going to continue into PS5 and PS6 next generation.console cross buy already exists... why would they add a new icon for that 5 years into the PS5 gen?
Plus makes sense for portable PS and cloudBecause it's going to continue into PS5 and PS6 next generation.
That's because this board is like 90% Sony fanboys lol.
I just play games on whatever platform is most convenient. It would definitely be convenient to have PS5/PC cross buy!
Because it's going to continue into PS5 and PS6 next generation.
That investment by big Sony was more about music, interactive concerts, FX, animation and movies than games.Let's not rule out Epic collab

There is not a PS4/PS5 icon, they're separate.still useless. they can just add a PS5/PS6 icon without calling it crossbuy. just like they already do now with PS4/PS5.
Not only that, this abomination will be their pitiful attempt at gaining marketshare from Steam. That can only mean yet another launcer

They're already expanding to EGS with Tokon next year, I don't think it's their plan to do storefront exclusivity. Not only that, this abomination will be their pitiful attempt at gaining marketshare from Steam.
Curious to see how aggressive they get if they plan to disrupt Steam. They'd obviously need way more than day and date exclusives. Not only that, this abomination will be their pitiful attempt at gaining marketshare from Steam.

This is interesting.....I never considered there would be people like yourself that would do this.

Yep, and Sony still can't get it decades later. It's funny because your hardware is only as good as the software running it. Amazing hardware will tank with shitty software. Amazing software can uplift even crappy hardware.
Even if the game is Cloud Enabled, you will still need the PS+ Premium tier to stream it in order to Buy and Stream. It could easily be cross buy with a cloud version, eliminating the need for ps+ for access to it. I would understand if Sony had their own PC OS that they could use to monetise users in the same way MS do with windows 11. Xbox only has cross buy/play anywhere because MS also own windows; it's that quest for convergence that T Tobimacoss loves to bash everyone over the head with.
I'm sure Sony and their studios will figure it out. If every major third party publisher is capable of doing it then there's no reason Sony studios can't.Doing day and date releases puts too much unneeded strain on their game development.
Xbox showing Playstation the way.
PlayStation showing PlayStation the way.Sony Interactive Entertainment introduced cross-buy on PlayStation gaming platforms in August 2012
I knew there were some on GOG (very late, though), but EGS is a new one for me, huh. I guess because I always used to search for Helldivers 2 and it's literally the only one not available there?

They already have a bunch of games on GoG and EGS
And that's where the Bloodborne remaster comes in, tied (exclusively) to the launch of the Playstation PC store.

Learning all of this through our partnership with Iron Galaxy Studios only helps to bolster Naughty Dog's understanding of PC development, and allow us to deliver the quality you expect in our future releases. We're excited to be offering The Last of Us Part I on PC in the future, and know that, moving forward, adding PC development to the way we develop games, which in no way undermines the importance of PlayStation 5 as our primary platform, will continue to benefit our team in the long run. As Naughty Dog has come to better understand hybrid and work-from-home development over the last few years, PC development offers our team flexibility in how, when, and where our games are created. Much like players can enjoy UNCHARTED: Legacy of Thieves Collection on PC from a variety of PC builds, our developers can work on PC iterations on various pieces of hardware from home or in the office.
