I can't wait to tell people I have a Steam Box

Do you plan on purchasing a Steam Box?

If the price is right I could definitely see myself buying one to hook up to my TV for some casual couch gaming. I won't buy it day one though, I'd rather wait for consumer reviews to see how the launch goes and if there are any issues. But yeah, sure I'm interested. It won't be replacing my actual PC, just supplementing it.

not even a few hours of people trying it out and it already has gunk on the thumbsticks.. Gamers are gross human beings.

This fanboy mentality is why nobody can withstand gamers. It's just a product from a company. Let the masses be ignorant about it, but can at least us use our brains and have no emotional attachment to it whatsoever?

This doesn't seem like it's for pc gamers. It seems like it's for console gamers that would be interested in steam but don't have a good option for "couch setup" gamig.

I can see what you are saying about console gamers, but why don't you think PC gamers would be interested?

It's not that some pc gamers won't be. The pc user base is massive but when you or I picture pc gamers in our heads, it's like people on gaf with rigs better than this already.
They will look at the 8g vram and scoff.

The pc users that will be tempted by this are people who are casually playijg pc stuff and are interested in taking that library with them to a more dedicated console like experience.

I myself had to ditch my big/ beefy rigs (two towers) years ago. I needed to not take up so much space and was playing more on switch and ps4 (out of connivence) at the time. Little kids in the house didn't allow for me to spend even more time in the home office to game.
So at this time this option really appeals to me. I get acces to my steam library again, access to steam deals and free online. I can also enjoy the gaming setups that do work better for my life right now ( living room gaming and remote play).
