SAROS - New trailer Released | The Game Awards 2025

Gameplay and art style looks great but not feeling this tone yet. Returnal had nice mysterious atmosphere but I'm not getting similar vibes from this. But I trust my countrymen will deliver and will surprise me.

It looks noticeably less uhhh...coherent? Aesthetically. Returnal reminded me of Demon's Souls. It had its own internal logic in terms of aesthetics and stuck to it and nailed it hard. I still think Derelict Citadel in that game is one of the coolest videogame levels ever created.

The Returnal director left so I assume this is Returnal's gameplay chassis but without his "pet project" touch in regard to the rest. Either way HM don't miss in terms of fun-ass games.

i want to know more about the story, the game looks great. fast and the creature design is top notch, animation is also great on the creatures.
 
I enjoyed the first, but again, if they charge 70-80 euros for this they might as well shut down the studio. It flopped completely on PC and on PS5 it barely made 2 mils if those numbers aren't already inflated.
 
Going in hard on the King In Yellow motif I see. Interesting choice especially when the source material offers a number of different creative directions to go in due to its portmanteau nature.
 
I am not interested unfortunately. It looks to be the same as Returnal with a different coat of paint

Returnal was for me, a very frustrating game because of the roguelite nature, having to repeat over and over everything and not being able to make mistakes to reach the end.

I'm in but they need to fix the 3 most annoying stuff that was in returnal:

-Too many falling points, the game is not a fucking platformer, i want the challenge to come from the combat, not falling down a hole ALL THE FUCKING TIME, also get rid of all the sections that require precise platforming with traps, they were never funny in returnal and the jumping\landing was a bit too stiff for precision platforming.
-make the metaprogression between runs way better because in returnal it was pretty shit
-don't make long-medium range weapons worst because you have to run after enemy you kill to collect the money for upgrades before they disappear, just do auto-collect like every well adjusted game, again i want the challenge to come from enemies, not me running towards any fucking death monster even if i have a sniper.
 
I don't know all the nuances but looks a little too continuistic/similar to Returnal, (maybe it's a good thing) i liked Retural. But we have to see what new stuff Saros brings to the table.
 
Too story heavy of a trailer. I don't care about the story, it sucked in Returnal and I don't expect better from this.
If the gameplay and Roguelite elemnts are good though I'm definitely in.
 
So you mean that Returnal doesn't have giant generous hit boxes that you have to make an effort to actually miss your shots or that I also smell??
